Leader
Orchidae is also a huge fan of cats, often taking in some from the surrounding regions. Lately she has begun collecting quite a clowder to feed. Some are starting to say a little too many...

" May you touch fireflies and stars, dance with fairies, and talk to the moon" Upon her hatching, Orchidae moved out to explore her surroundings, finding another light dragon nearby who was similar to her in that he had no parents to his knowledge. Deciding to stick together, the two began travelling the Lightweaver's realm to learn more about the world around them and determine what their purpose was. After many years of travel, Orchidae decided what to found Clan Hokaru around after seeing how each of the small clans in Light would pull together and make the light shine even brighter. Just like fireflies could light up the night sky, she would gather a clan of lights that would help fight against the Shade. Confident in her newly determined purpose, Orchidae began to form her new clan with the help of her companion, Ajuga. After a few years of building, Orchidae met with the leader of the Eodasura clan from the Arcane flight. Becoming fast friends, the other clan was soon sending over a representative, a Guardian named Aodh. As soon as she lay eyes on him, Orchidae knew he was her charge. She began spending more and more of her free time with him until one day he proposed. After her marriage she moved in with Aodh and the two began raising children. One child, Zelda, was soon following in Orchidae's footsteps and being trained to take over the clan. Despite the fact that her daughter is training to take over her role, Orchidae still does not see her very much as Zelda spends time learning from each of the divisions in the clan while Orchidae has begun to transition to stepping back from her leadership position, although she still handles many of the over-arching affairs of the clan. |
Orchidae is a calm individual, often seeming emotionally detached. Despite this, she cares deeply for her clan and would do anything to help them. After Aodh's arrival, though, it has become more common to see a small smile on her face. She feels that she should serve others before herself, a trait she has passed on to her daughter and one which Aodh disagrees with. In her spare time, Orchidae enjoys making flower crowns, a constant source of amusement for the other dragons in the clan when seeing their normally mature leader sitting in a field of flowers with a distant expression on. |

Quote:
Orchidae is so pretty! her apparel is simple yet appealing, and i love the idea of filigree for her tert. as your clan leader, she also has a remarkable amount of lore! i like the idea that even the deepest darkness can be held back with little acts of kindness and motes of light. she's a clear favorite and i can see why! Writing:
The hatchling poked her head around one of the pillars that made up part of the grounds of the clan lair. “As the hunter located its prey she crouched, ready to attack.” She whispered, body following the oral story as she crouched before pouncing at one of the many beams of light flickering through the air. These orbs were located all over the Lightweaver’s domain and made for excellent target practice.
“Upon catching it she growled, terrifying her enemy before letting it go in a… a…” she paused, sitting up. Wasn’t that the clan leader in the distance, furtively slinking into a glade of trees on the edge of clan territory?
“I wonder what she’s up to?” the hatchling wondered out loud. While she hadn’t seen Orchidae very often, the other was known for being cool, calm, and collected. Orchidae’s current behavior didn’t match any of those things unless her grasp of vocabulary wasn’t as good as she’d thought.
Hesitating for only a brief moment, the young dragon was soon stealthily creeping after the larger dragon. Pink really wasn’t a good camouflage and the other seemed to be preoccupied. As she crept through the trees the dragonet continued to narrate her adventure in her head.
'Following the enemy dragon, the brave warrior moved from tree to tree to avoid being captured. She knew she had only one chance to get this right. It was now or never. If she could discover the secret weapon the other clan possessed she could win the war, becoming a hero to all dragonkind! Well, except the bad ones.' She thought, barely noticing when Orchidae stopped and having to muffle a squeak as she tried to put on the brakes a little to fast, hitting a bush. Oh no! Had she been caught? She was going to be in so much trouble for this! Eyes wide, she looked through the bush in time to see a surprising sight.
Orchidae was covered in cats, the furry felines wrapping themselves around the dragon’s scaled legs as they purred. A few sat off to the side, lazily blinking as they watched the proceedings aloofly. Jaw dropping, the dragonet wasn’t sure how much time passed as she sat there watching their revered leader develop a growingly furry coat until there was a faint sound behind her. Jumping, she spun around to see Aodh, Orchidae’s consort holding a claw up to signal for her to be silent as he winked.
“Didn’t expect to see that when you followed her, did you?” he whispered, voice low. She shook her head, too afraid to speak. “Why don’t we get you back to where you’re supposed to be?” he suggested, mouth shifting into a grin. “Don’t worry. This will be our little secret, agreed?” Perking up, she smiled back at him as she nodded.
“Agreed.”

There lives a derg named Orchidae,
Who collects a new cat each day,
'Stop!' the others cry,
]We can't see the sky',
"But I've found yet another stray!"
