Monarch was born to Bronwyn, one of Nymphae's daughters who moved to live with a different clan in the Lightweaver's domain. Due to her close relationship with her mother, Monarch often travelled between both clans and eventually went back to his mother's birth clan after meeting Hathor. The two settled down together for a long engagement period before finally being married.


Monarch picked up the job he'd been doing with his previous clan; gathering insects for both private collectors and those dragons whose diet was primarily composed of the creatures. Most dragons laugh when he suits up for the day's work but Monarch ignores them. Anyone who thinks insect catching is easy has another thing coming; from climbing to reach the hives high in the trees to digging up nests deep underground there is a lot of physical activity involved. Don't even get him started on what the insects themselves can do to even a full grown dragon...


A dedicated husband, Monarch is very proud of his wife's achievements in her field of study. On his days off, he helps carry her bags and do the menial work. Ever since she was affected by the ancient curse, Monarch has continued to stand by her side. He actually thinks she's become even more beautiful since her affliction, something which has helped Hathor's self-confidence.
