I have a ton of messages in my inbox with money from auction sales, because I don't have the time to open them and collect the money. Do I have to open them before the new AH is implemented and will they not be affected?
How is the "generation" on the dragons calculated? If a dragon has a first-gen parent and a fifth-gen parent, would it be considered second gen or sixth gen?
The generation search only lets you filter to 1st gen or 2nd+ gen. As you pointed out, past gen1 it is not necessarily clear what "generation" a dragon belongs to.

I'm not sure, however, if I was clear with what I wrote; I didn't mean the parameters themselves, but rather the container to be kept open - if I wanted to check, for instance, the price for each pieces of a silk set with the new AH, I'd have to go through the 'enter parameters' -> 'search' -> 'expand the collapsed container' cycle for every piece I'm searching instead of just 'type item name' -> 'search', is that correct?
That is the way it is going to work at launch, yes. The box containing all of the search options collapses when you submit a search, so you would have to expand it again to change parameters. Since dragons especially have so many search options, we did not want players to have to scroll past them on every page, but we will see if there is something that can be done to improve this use case as well.
I see that you can select which AH to sell an item on - will it default to the realm-wide AH? (In other words, I won't have to select realm-wide every time I sell an item?) I don't see myself using the flight-only or private AHs very much.
If you click the "Auction House" link on the left sidebar of the site, it will ask you to choose between Flight, Realm-Wide and Private. However, you can always bookmark the "Sell" page for Realm-Wide auctions if you wish!
Is there still a way to look at the last items/dragons listed (like how you can click on "Expiration-Descending" now)? I can't really tell from the screenshots, it may be in the "Sort By" dropdown.
- the expandable/collapsible container for search parameters is said to collapse automatically after parameters are chosen; however, when one's searching for different items quickly the automatic collapsing seems to hinder the flow (one more click required; like in selling large amounts of various materials or doing price-checks) - will it be possible to lock the container in expanded position?
As of right now there is no lock feature for the search parameters.

It will stay the same way you left it with respect to the house (Realm/Flight/Private) and tab (Food/Materials/etc.) you have selected.

Currently because there is a page refresh the scroll will be reset, but we will look into ways to make selling multiples of the same item quicker.

Will the profits tab remember sold auctions for 14 days, the same as the activity in the other tabs? If not how long/how many sold auctions will it remember?
The Profits tab shows you sold auctions for which the profits have not yet been collected. There is not a limit to the profits tab -- so, you cannot lose profits if you don't collect them immediately! The records of sold auctions in the Recent History tab is however limited to 14 days.
For the multi-select, is there a limit to how many things we can select? Like there over a hundred colors, so could we select twenty of them or is there a limit of only 4? and by twenty colors I'm not referring to a range, but all the colors are separate and spread out on the wheel.
We are not imposing a hard limit at the moment. If we do add a limit in the future, it will be for performance reasons, and will likely be larger than four.
My only questions: Will it be possible to exclude genes, G1s, XYX type dragons, or numbers in the ID search? Also, any chance of seeing colors grouped into preset ranges (reds, blues, greyscale etc.) for quicker searching? More of a pain to code I'm sure but every click it saves is huge, esp. for people with dexterity / mobility issues like myself.
Unfortunately is not going to be an "exclusion" feature for multi-select at launch. You can simulate exclusion by selecting every other option, but that is a lot of effort. The generation search however does however let you exclude Gen1 dragons already.
There are not concrete plans for a simplified color range selection system but that is something we can investigate.
On that note though- when doing a search, can we search both Flight and Site wide auctions at the same time? Or would I need to have two different tabs open to do that?
Will a private auction send the potential buyer a notification the same way a crossroads trade does? Ex. "You have one pending private auction! Go the Auction House to complete your purchase." or something of the sort?
@Xhaztol Will there be an 'identical to' feature so you don't have to, say, scroll through pages of rich copper ore to hunt for copper ore that isn't rich? (Just an example using randomly selected items)
Hi @Karanja and @Dewclaw, may I ask what operating systems you are running when this issue occurs?
I did a quick test of Firefox 51.0.1 on Windows 10 and I can see the colors, so it seems possible this is dependent on more than just the Firefox version -- the fact that there were successful reports of "Refresh Firefox" working makes me wonder if it is a setting or state in Firefox itself.

Hi @ShotoNemar, sorry for the trouble and thank you for providing a detailed report of what happened! As @chespin said, typically exalted dragons would only be renamed if they had inappropriate names, and if the names were from the randomizer they should not be flagged as inappropriate (if they are, it's a bug or human error!)
Can you please send a support ticket to Contact Us with the same details from your post? We should be able to get to the bottom of what happened from there.

I agree that it seems more likely to be related to the browser upgrade, our games use HTML5 and not Flash so Flash player should not be affecting the performance of games unless it's being used for an ad on the same page.
Hi @NinaOsp, sorry for the confusion! What you experienced is "Auction House limbo" -- currently for performance reasons auction expiration is processed in bulk once an hour, and there is a window after the auction has passed its expiration date but before you get your PM where it appears to have gone missing. We understand that this is confusing and we are definitely keeping it in mind for future improvements!

Hi @Numeriko - Dragons can appear to be "in auction" for up to an hour after the expiration time due to the way auction expirations are processed in bulk. This is sometimes referred to as "AH Limbo."
Hi @Squeakerblue - I can confirm that Cold Hearted and Winterwatch are swapping positions within the Baldwin recipe list. We will look into this!

Because the order swapping is occurring and also due to how similar the icon and recipe are for these two items, my initial suspicion is that the ordering changed out from under you between page loads. However, customer support would be able to look into that more closely!
Hi @Jeffygiraffe - It looks like this was probably just a temporary error. The image file in question does exist and it would have been an older puzzle image based on its number. It was probably a brief connection issue -- let me know if it reoccurs!
Hi @LokiReaper - To add to what @chespin said, when a familiar is attached to a dragon, that instance of the familiar item disappears from your Hoard because it is now attached to the dragon. When you detach it from the dragon it then appears in the Hoard again.
If you have more than one instance of the familiar in your hoard, only one can be attached to a dragon at a time. That is, two of your dragons cannot simultaneously attach the same type of familiar.
Familiars that are attached to a dragon or in your hoard/vault should be colored instead of grayed out in your Beastiary, although there are quite a few pages to the Beastiary to page through as it is right now!
