Alfa
The First Male, Foreign Political Leader, Battle Veteran
Biography
Alfa was a hatchling in a travelling mirror pack that had stopped to hunt and nest in the Starwood Strand. He spent his early days in their nest playing with his siblings waiting excited the day he could hunt for the first time. When that day finally came Alfa was so excited he could barely stay still and his parents had to calm him down all the time to avoid him from driving their prey away. After having stayed silent for some time Alfa noticed a java sparrow on the ground and excited to catch his first prey he charged towards it ignoring shouts from his parents. The bird was fast but eventually Alfa managed to catch it before noticing his next prey, a snowshoe rabbit. Alfa charged towards the rabbit and after a long chase he managed to catch it. Proud of the catch Alfa thought of bringing it to his pack, he picked it up and started to look for the right way only to notice he had no idea where he was. He tried to follow his own scent back home but couldn’t find the right one and ended up walking in circles. The Sun was setting and Alfa was tired because of all the running so he decided to take a nap and try again once the Sun had risen again. Nearing the midnight Alfa was awoken by an unfamiliar noise. It was not a dragon and Alfa was scared it could be some kind of monster and afraid it could find and eat him while he was asleep he ate rest of his rabbit and left his hideout. He walked and eventually reached the beach where he saw glowing peaks of the Crystalspine Reaches. The vast sea frightened him but at the same time the dim light made him feel comfortable and so he decided to continue towards the peaks hoping to find a place to rest in there. Not being a strong flier Alfa stopped on each peak he reached and checked if there were any places he could sleep but most of them were too small, too low or too steep. Eventually he reached a peak that was high enough to keep him dry and Alfa wondered if he could find a nest in there. Before he could start looking however he heard a weird noise and froze. The cause of noise didn’t seem to have noticed him nor did it sound threatening so Alfa walked forward to see what had caused it. Alfa peeked to the other side of the peak and noticed a fae moving crystals seemingly trying to make a nest. She seemed to struggle a lot with giant shards and Alfa happy to find another dragon decided to go help her. She though didn’t seem to be happy of his presence and flied to Alfa’s face ordering him to leave. Confused by attack of smaller dragon Alfa turned around and flied back where he came from but soon turned around once the fae returned to her work. He returned to where he had first seen the fae staying hidden and watched smaller dragon carrying crystal shards from one place to another. While Alfa watched her do her thing he was able to hear her cursing herself and started to sense pulses of self-hatred and bitterness coming from her. Alfa didn’t know why she felt that way but he felt bad for her and decided to help her. She wasn’t doing great with the shards due to the size difference and tired of trying to build what looked like a food storage she moved to build another side of the lair. Alfa not wanting an angry dragon to his face second time saw his chance and went to finish the storage. He lifted the shards and placed them like he assumed the fae had meant them to be placed and glanced to the dragon who stared him with poisonous eyes but didn’t do anything. Alfa moved to finish rest of the lair by building nest for himself and few extras just in case. After that was done he looked to the fae who was still struggling with what looked like to-be her nest. Carefully Alfa approached the fae and lifted the shards she was trying to prevent from falling. He asked where to put them and fae clearly tired told what she was trying to do with them. Alfa finished her nest and she slunk inside immediately. Alfa introduced himself to smaller dragon and asked if she was hungry. She said no but Alfa brought her some insects from the food storage anyway as he heard her stomach saying otherwise. After that Alfa asked for her name and after being silent for some time she told she was Nemo. Happy to be able to talk to her with a name Alfa asked more questions trying to figure out where she came from, what she did here and why she was so angry. Nemo didn’t seem to be willing to answer those questions despite Alfa’s demand and he was getting frustrated. Eventually she asked him to come with her to one of the extra nests he had made. At first Alfa was hopeful that she would show him something but she ended up tricking him to create three eggs. Alfa confused by the fact he had not realized the egg creating circumstances sooner stared to the three floating eggs while Nemo returned to her nest basically abandoning the eggs. Alfa didn’t want to leave Nemo alone as he sensed there was something wrong with her but he couldn’t leave eggs unguarded either. After thinking about it for a moment Alfa decided to fly to the adoption center and look for a dragon that could help him with upcoming children. In there he picked a light pearlcatcher who he decided to name Benizakura. He brought the young dragon the the peak and taught him basics of how to take care of arcane eggs and make nests in the crystal ground before leaving him with eggs. Alfa returned to Nemo’s nest in where the fae was not happy for Alfa for bringing more dragons there. Alfa explained that he was not going to let her be alone with her problems, whatever they were, and brought Benizakura here so she could not force him choose between two things. After that Alfa politely asked the same questions he had asked earlier and made sure he wouldn’t leave without answers. Nemo though remained completely silent and after checking she was still alive Alfa realized she wouldn’t talk to him and accepted her challenge of patience. First nights were challenging to Alfa and he struggled to not get bored with Nemo’s silence. He visited the nest every day to check the eggs till they hatched after which he lied next to Nemo’s nest watching his children play. Occasionally he left Nemo alone to go hunt with others in the clan and when he came back with some insects for her he noticed she had changed nest. The Peak though was small and Alfa was able to track her new hideout with ease and lied down to wait her speak. Few of their children tried to sneak in to see Nemo and Alfa sensing that she didn’t like that gave them something else to do trying to earn Nemo’s trust that way. Eventually Nemo spoke to him and asked to meet him in another place. Alfa having fallen to the same trick before knew what she tried to do and went along. With four other dragons in the clan he didn’t need to guard the nest that much and Nemo had made clear she didn’t like the clan to have too many dragons and basically cursed herself with the second three egg nest. Nemo apparently noticed that too and Alfa was able to sense her shame getting stronger and worried things might turn worse for her he tried to make her speak. Nemo remained silent in her nest Alfa lying right next to it waiting her to speak. The clan had received three new members that had arrived from neighboring regions but Alfa seeing how well Benizakura took care of them didn’t bother meeting them. About a month after their nest had hatched Nemo, to Alfa’s surprise, asked if he was alone to which Alfa, after checking where everyone were, answered yes. After that she came closer to Alfa though still remaining in her nest and asked if he still wanted to hear why she was bitter. Alfa moved his head closer as Nemo started to explain how she was from a mage clan but despite being a mage she couldn’t help her family when weird creatures attacked and how she feared it was because of some kind of conspiracy. Alfa listened to her story and was able to sense how revealing it hurt her. He commiserated and explained Nemo that she shouldn’t blame herself. For him it sounded like a hostile beastclan had attacked her home and though having never experienced attack from them he had heard from his pack’s older members that they attacked dragons every now and then and they could be brutal. He explained that to Nemo who was shaking in her nest having turned her back to Alfa. He saw that and decided she needed some time to be alone and left her. Nemo didn’t talk to Alfa for few nights after that and Alfa started to get worried. One evening when Alfa came to be with Nemo hoping she would eventually stop hiding he noticed Nemo was not in her hide but looked to him from the border of the lair clearly waiting. She explained having thought of what Alfa had told and said she wanted to make the beastclans pay for what they had done. Alfa didn’t like the idea but before he could say his objections Nemo had already taken flight and Alfa checking no one had seen them followed her. She eventually spotted a few miths and attacked them clearly rusty with her magic. The miths didn’t took her attacks easily and Alfa following Nemo had to use his claws to keep her safe. He had had practice battles when he had been just a hatchling and knew the basics but he too was a bit rusty and eventually decided to pull wounded Nemo back home to prevent more severe injuries. Nemo was not happy with that though she didn’t fight much due to fatigue. However a week later when Alfa came to bring Nemo some food he noticed her nest to be empty once again and after following her scent for little time he managed to see her flying and he immediately knew what she was up to. Alfa still didn’t like how she attacked random creatures out of revenge but didn’t bother stopping her until she attacked a dryad family decorating a tree in Woodland Path. Alfa though enough was enough and stepped between Nemo and the dryads. Nemo was not happy with that and protested against Alfa’s and the two argued while trying to avoid attacks from angry dryads. Things didn’t look great for the dragons being both arcane element against nature enemy and Alfa feared to be trapped inside a tree when a massive black dragon stepped in and drove dryads away with his size alone. Alfa recognized the dragon to be Obsidius, a wind guardian who had moved to the clan not that long ago. He explained having seen the two sneaking out of the lair and followed them to see what they were up to. Alfa explained what they were doing and Obsidius immediately offered to act as their guard explaining how he could take hits and carry them if they got injured. Alfa liked the idea but he noticed Nemo didn’t seem to share his excitement but she didn’t want to oppose them either. The trio started to do raids against beastclans once a week. Nemo didn’t like Obsidius and Alfa had asked the guardian to not tell anyone about her to not make their bond even colder after they had first met. Alfa himself came along nicely with the guardian and occasionally met with him outside their raid battles usually to choose where they should go to battle next as Obsidius knew where beastclans were more hostile towards dragons. He met Obsidius usually when he was taking some insects to Nemo and some snack to himself and the three prepared their raid journeys in secret meetings on one of the neighboring peaks never twice in the same place. In battles he stayed near Alfa usually battling together as Nemo either didn’t want to be near the guardian or wanted to shoot magic from a hideout. About a month after Alfa had started to make regular raid journeys to the beastclan areas Obsidius informed that the clan had received a move order from the Observatory. The clan was meant to move to the Starwood Strand and though Alfa was excited to have a bigger and less windy lair he was worried about Nemo. Despite of his best efforts and the fact he had already managed to make her speak she still refused to join other dragons and stayed in her nests if not raiding. Alfa wanted to move and tried to convince Nemo to join but the fae stayed in her nest unwilling to come out. Alfa though had a feeling that she might come with him and joined the rest of the clan to pack their items and helped to carry it to their new home. In the wood Alfa helped to organize items and while he was doing that he noticed a familiar being sneaking among the trees’ roots. He watched as Nemo found her a new hide and after things had been put to their places he took some insects and came to Nemo’s new nest. He tried to get her out of there by pointing out that she had already left one nest for good and she could as well leave this one too and join her clan. Nemo didn’t like the idea and Alfa said he could wait and continued scouting outside Nemo’s hideout. Alfa was expecting things to go like they did in the old lair but having spent so much time trying to get Nemo out of her hide he did not know in what shape the clan was. One night while Alfa was lying next to Nemo’s nest waiting her to give up and come out a young ridgeback approached them. She introduced herself as Tinker and asked if they were the founding couple. Alfa sat up nervous that she knew there were two of them. He told that he had been in the clan from the very start giving an asking look to Obsidius who approached among the rest of the clan. He shook his head when Tinker started to berate him for being irresponsible and lazy dragon for not taking any kind of control in the clan. Confused Alfa looked to the crowd and met Benizakura’s angry eyes. Alfa turned his eyes away in shame when Tinker focused on Nemo who had tried to crawl to the other side of the tree and pulled her out. He could only watch as the ridgeback lectured older fae who was clearly panicking in her claws. Once she let her go Alfa watched as Nemo flied to the wood and attempted to follow her but changed his mind after feeling scornful eyes of his back he decided to let Nemo go and turned to face the clan that turned their heads as Tinker walked away. Confused Alfa asked Obsidius why he had not told about that to which he answered that he had not seemed interested. Alfa assumed that Nemo had left for good after such shock and though he was worried of her he didn’t bother looking for her fearing she might be hostile. Instead he tried to find his place in the clan but that turned out to be harder than he had expected. Most of the residents didn’t like how he had just lied in one place doing nothing and basically ignored rest of the clan fully for a long time. Especially Benizakura was unwilling to forgive Alfa stating that the only reason he had brought him there was to make his work so he could hang out with dragon that didn’t deserve attention. Alfa felt bad for Nemo but didn’t try to change their way of seeing the situation knowing it would be useless with Nemo’s escape acting against him. Obsidius stayed on Alfa’s side as he tried to gain some recognition from his clan mates by working hard partaking in gatherings whenever he could and some times organizing them but Tinker was usually faster. When he was not doing that he tried to apologize his past ignorance from his clan mates. To Alfa’s surprise Benizakura was among the first ones to forgive and Alfa was happy to come along with his adopted son for who he never gave attention but something felt off. Getting his trust back was too easy and the way Benizakura talked hinted that he didn’t quite remembered why he had been angry towards him. While Alfa was thinking for possible reasons for the sudden change he thought having seen Nemo hiding among the leaves and remembering what she had told about her mage training wondered if she was behind that. Benizakura who became a chronicler some time after forgiving Alfa told what exactly had happened in the clan after he had started to spent time with Nemo. With that knowledge Alfa was able to become more aware of his clan and not sounding like a newcomer he was able to gain some respect in his clan. Also the fact that Benizakura had forgiven him made others forgive Alfa too but not Tinker who looked him like expecting him to regress at any second. Alfa had started to gain some recognition in the clan and some of his clan mates had offered to do his work giving him some free time. One night Alfa noticed unfamiliar dragon flying to the lair. He noticed their fancy clothes and knew they were a respectable guest and rushed to meet them before Tinker hoping to not look too inferior to them. He introduced himself to the guest who explained to have come from the Observatory to meet Nova. Alfa knew the dragon but didn’t know where he was so he turned to Kaamos, a tundra who was Nova’s father. He didn’t know for sure where Nova was though Alfa believed that was because the situation was stressful for him. He though knew he liked to hang on tree tops. Alfa used his heat vision to spot any dragons on top of the trees and noticed a fae holding a telescope on top of a tall tree. Alfa called Nova down and after some time he appeared to lower branch. Alfa introduced him to their guest who then proceed to explain why they were there. Alfa remained silent when others talked and after Nova decided to visit the Observatory he escorted them out of the lair and as he watched them leave he noticed Nemo doing the same nearby. After Nova came back from the Observatory the entire clan noticed that he was promoted to be clan’s arcane ambassador. The clan surrounded the fae and while they were congratulating him Morgana had an idea of building an observatory to honor him and the clan agreed. In a short conference involving the observatory the clan decided that Tinker and Morgana would design the simple building and organize the building progress while Alfa and Obsidius would travel across the Sornieth and get the needed supplies either by stealing from beastclans or buying from other dragon clans. The observatory was eventually finished and Alfa took a little break from his clan duties before continuing gatherings and raids. The life continued peacefully in the clan for some time after that but Alfa was able to sense few were acting weird and were very nervous for some reason and few had found weapons and poisons hidden across the lair. That bothered the whole clan and they held a small meeting because of that when Witchi came forward and revealed that the nervous ones were planning a takeover. Alfa didn’t believe that right away but Tinker did and started to demand information from the accused giving him a cold look due to high amount of his grandchildren among them. At first the accused denied all the claims but Alfa sensed them lying and after he, Obsidius and Morgana along with few others joined Tinker they had enough and one of them showed her teeth to Tinker. The battle that followed was over before it could even start. Tinker was able to knock out the dragons attacking her as did Morgana and Obsidius stunned the revolutionary before Alfa could even realize they were coming for him. The clan did not hesitate to hold a trial against the dragons who had showed their claws to their clan mates. Most of them didn’t deny what they did and had planned to do while few did and they were proven guilty by Fea, child of Alfa who had been part of the group at one point. That seemed to interest Tinker and Alfa felt her giving him a blaming look to which Alfa answered to sign that he was not behind that. That though didn’t seem to convince Tinker nor Morgana. Most of the accused asked to be sent to the Observatory where they could give their lives to the Arcanist to be used and that was the punishment they were given. Alfa offered to escort them there but he was denied by Tinker Morgana taking that job instead. Though Tinker didn’t tell why she didn’t allow Alfa to escort them he sensed it was because of her lack of trust. The following nights were tense between Alfa and Tinker and both guardians stayed very close to their charges. Eventually Alfa had enough of their lack of any kind of interaction and approached Tinker who was waiting gathering groups to return. Alfa had not even reached her when she already asked why he followed her. Alfa found the question a bit odd until he realized she meant Nemo and told politely that he had not interacted with her after Tinker came to the clan. Tinker made sure he noticed her disbelief though he acted oblivious and told that he didn’t want to talk about her. Tinker didn’t seem interested but asked what it was anyway and checked what foraging group had found. From that group Alfa asked Karmiini to join them. Karmiini had taken the role of the judge during the trial and was often the one keeping the conferences organized. Alfa being impressed by her skills suggested she was made clan’s official judge and chairdragon. Tinker seemed to be happy with Alfa’s suggestion and with Karmiini’s acceptance it was made official. After that Alfa watched as Tinker went to see her eggs wondering if he had managed to convince her to trust him with the suggestion. Things were rather normal after that and the clan continued its life in peace. Still, at the beginning of the earth holiday Nova brought some news from the Observatory: the clan was allowed to move to the Focal Point and they were let to choose where they would like to live in there. Soon after that almost all in the clan Alfa included started to see dreams about a wood hidden in the Focal Point and the clan wanted to move there. Tinker was against the idea and Alfa knew that was because she too had realized the dreams were Nemo’s doing but was outnumbered and the clan decided to move there. Alfa knowing that Nemo wanted the clan to move there didn’t bow to Tinker and took the duty to fly there and mark where the new lair would come. He flied there with Obsidius and few that Tinker trusted following the way shown in their dreams. They eventually found the wood and after scouting it from above decided to have the lair almost in the middle slightly above the mid-way and Alfa sent his companions to inform Tinker. While he was starting to clean up the wood with his remaining companions Alfa noticed Nemo arriving to the area and he was able to sense what he assumed to be happiness from her. Some time after that Tinker came to see the new lair. She didn’t say much and only looked coldly to Alfa when he suggested that he took care of things in there while she would organize packing in the old lair. She didn’t answer directly but didn’t oppose Alfa and left him lead the lair. She returned to the new lair almost a week later among the last dragons still disliking the idea of moving in there and took Alfa’s place as the gathering organizer after making herself familiar with the new home. One problem had become very clear during the moving operation and that was Rusty. The clan had had to ask her help in breaking and rebuilding the observatory but she was very hard dragon to deal with and many wanted the clan to have professional blacksmith. Alfa wanting to show still distrusting Tinker that he was not irresponsible offered to fly to the fire region and try to find a blacksmith that would be willing to move to the clan. The clan, Tinker included, agreed with the idea and Alfa left with Obsidius to start a journey towards the Ashfall Waste. They finally reached the waste and not really wanting to enter the thick smoke and heat of the inland they scouted the borders of the region hoping to find dragon clans in there. They eventually found few that were willing to let them rest but none of them had spare blacksmiths to give to them though they hinted clans that may have. Alfa and Obsidius finally arrived to a clan in where they met with a young blacksmith Tapio. After hearing Alfa’s clan’s need he declared to be willing to become their blacksmith and after getting permission from elders of his clan they started to pack his stuff and left the following afternoon. In the clan Tapio was welcomed warmly. While the clan was introducing itself to the newest member Tinker came to meet Alfa and explained how she had been thinking about naming their clan. Alfa agreed the clan needed a name but being still tired from the flight he suggested they’d think about that the following night along with choosing dragons to build the smithy. Tinker seemed to understand that and left Alfa alone. The following night the clan held a conference that started with naming the dragons to build the smithy followed by naming the clan "Polar Sky". After the smithy was finished Alfa met with Nemo, and after a short discussion they created two eggs which Nemo still didn’t want to take care off. Alfa instead stayed with the eggs spending his time with the hatchling-sitter Kaamos and Obsidius who was nesting his own eggs grateful to know that Nemo was not traumatized by the past event. Having never actually grown his own children Alfa was surprised how Kaamos could look after so many hatchlings at once when he struggled with only two. Tropi though a bit wild and careless was not nearly as bad as Julius who liked to sneak out of the lair and for some reason managed to get lost, always. Alfa and others had to always look for him and things didn’t turn easier when he grew up as after learning to fly he managed to wander even farther needing to be brought home even from other regions. Tinker too noticed that Alfa had hard time keeping his son out of troubles and though not saying it face to face Alfa was able to tell she thought he was a bad father. She though didn’t leave him alone with Julius and also carried him home if she happened to find him. He tried to teach his son how to not sneak out of the lair without permission and if he did how to find way back home by not annoying his clan mates but his words were spoken to deaf ears. He tried even harder after starting to work with clan’s inn but his words had still no effect. Some time after starting the inn project its designer Rosalin approached Alfa and Tinker and introduced an ambitious project she had in mind: a massive temple that would make the Great Father proud. Alfa saw it as a security risk for their small clan without proper guards and he rejected the idea as did Tinker too and Rosalin not wanting to bury her dream demanded harder. Eventually Alfa bent and promised to help with the temple but only if rest of the clan wanted same as she did. The clan liked the temple idea but almost all of them thought it was too large and they ended up in compromise where they build smaller temple and Alfa partook the building progress as he promised. Things though didn’t go as smoothly as Alfa had hoped when Siren disappeared soon after starting the project. She tended to spent a lot of time alone hiding from others but she always showed at least once a night but this time she didn’t come back and no one had seen her either. Some though found talonok feathers next to red gems that looked a lot like they had been shed from Siren and worried for his daughter’s life Alfa left the temple project to start scouting for anything Siren related. The search didn’t turn out to be very successful and Alfa started really worry about his daughter when Kaamos brought some interesting news from the hatchery. He had been with Midnight when he noticed that she had been able to tell precisely what happened over year before her hatching in a story form. Alfa was a bit skeptical about the story Kaamos told but had to rethink that after he asked Midnight to tell what happened to Siren. After a long silence she opened her mouth and started a story that sounded like it could have happened. After the story ended Obsidius suggested to go to the light domain, where Siren had apparently been taken by another dragon, with his mate Utu to see if they could found her there. Alfa accepted the offer and tired stayed home waiting them to return. While they were gone Julius had, once again, been found outside the lair by Tinker’s searching squad who had been looking for Siren. After the hints of talonok attack had been found Alfa had forbid anyone from travelling alone yet Julius had done that. Alfa tired of all the fuss was not really in the mood to deal with his son and asked Tinker to punish him and kept waiting for Obsidius’ return. Eventually the clan was able to hear strong pair of wings approaching and Alfa recognized Obsidius coming back. He came straight to Alfa and straightened his wing letting Siren slide down. Alfa was happy to see her unharmed and was rather surprised to hear that what had happened lined perfectly with what Midnight had said. While she had been telling her story Tinker had come to see how Siren was and after the smaller dragon had finished she suggested Alfa to take a rest and offered to take care of Siren in his stead. Alfa was a bit surprised by that but didn’t complain and crawled to his nest. His rest was however cut short when Azul came to wake him up. She told that someone had attacked Tropi and turned her into a nocturne and before she was able to finish the sentence Alfa was already running towards healing offices. In there he found Tropi unharmed though she had amnesia not being able to tell what exactly had happened and having a clear need to mimic dragons in the room. She though knew it had been someone she knew. Megan who had found Tropi during her cleaning routine told what she knew but that didn’t help much. Worried about not knowing who had done this to her daughter Alfa decided to organize some research groups and asked Azul to bring Tinker there when the ridgeback already arrived to the rooms. Before Alfa was able to tell anything to her she told that Julius had escaped from the spell circle. Alfa was so tired having had to worry about his children he really didn’t want to deal with Julius’ stupid ideas and told Tinker that even if she found she wouldn’t bring him back home. If he were to return he would have to do it himself. Tinker understood and went to organize the search groups while Alfa was ordered back to rest. Alfa spent the following nights only lying under the trees while others did all the work. No one had found any traces of the one who had casted the spell on Tropi and to avoid it from striking again the clan had improved its defenses. Alfa had not been allowed to participate at the moment and to prevent himself from getting bored he went through possibilities for the breed changer. He had thought of Julius but he most likely didn’t own a scroll to change a breed and was not a mage so it left Tropi’s amnesia unexplained. It couldn’t be the talonoks either as Silence had killed them all and none of the bodies looked like a mage, warriors all of them. Few nights later while looking for something to eat Alfa felt tension rising in the lair and after watching what was going on he noticed a group of centaurs entering the lair. They moved slowly keeping their weapons visible but didn’t try to rise them and Alfa wondered if they were a peaceful group. While gazing the creatures he noticed Julius peeking on top of what looked like the leader of the group. Tinker had also noticed that and gave Alfa the look and he started approaching centaurs asking Obsidius to stay behind. While walking to meet the creatures Alfa gazed his clan looking for the familiar keeper to act as interpreter and after noticing her called her with his tail. While he was approaching Julius slid off the centaur’s back and crawled to meet Alfa who gave him a cold glance. Alfa waited silently till Pinkapi reached them and answered to the centaurs’ bow. He thanked them for finding his son and struggled to keep straight face when they told Julius to be a decent dragon. Alfa was a bit suspicious towards the centaurs and asked why they had helped Julius to which they answered they had lost more in the war than they had gained and had decided to retire from it. Alfa nodded to sign understanding. He turned his attention to Julius who sat right next to him and asked him to go to the Hoard and pay back what he had eaten. While Julius was gone Alfa heard Nemo’s voice inside his head warning about the centaurs to be the same ones that attacked her home back then. Hearing Nemo’s voice made Alfa realize something he didn’t want to realize and he tried to keep that hidden from everyone around him. Trying to get that out of head for time being he asked the centaur if their choice of peace was caused by the death of their leader. Alfa smelled fear from the centaurs when they explained that that had been the case and he was happy to not be interacting with the very being that had maybe caused traumas for Nemo. Hoping she would be reading his thoughts Alfa asked to meet with her in the Crystal Cave after the meeting. Julius returned with the items and Alfa explained them to be a thank you gift for them. The leader thanked and other members of its pack picked them up before starting to leave. The leader left last hoping the best for the clan and hoped to meet again while Alfa hoped it to be peaceful one. He watched the centaurs leave and told approaching Tinker to sent a party to check they were not planning attack. Tinker left as soon as she had come and Pinkapi did the same. During the meeting Alfa had refused to watch his son and after being left alone with he didn’t try to hide how angry he was. He asked him all kinds of questions not really caring about what he answered to them and ended by swearing to exile him if this ever happened again. After that he asked Obsidius to take Julius to the healer and then bring him to the Crystal Cave before heading there himself. Nemo was already waiting Alfa in the cave and Alfa still a bit mad because of his argument with Julius made clear he didn’t like how she put ideas into his head. Nemo pointed out that they were not ideas but information. After having calmed down a little bit Alfa asked his main worry directly: did she turn Tropi into a nocturne? She didn’t answer the question but the fact she thought the clan had needed to increase its defense told Alfa enough. Julius arrived soon after that and Alfa explained that he would be locked in there for few days. Julius didn’t protest when Nemo made the spell circle and after that was done Alfa left without a word and went to hunt. Eventually Tropi’s mind was fixed and Julius was let out of the circle. Alfa had asked Obsidius to guard him to make sure no one came to let him out like last time. He had not talked with his son after leaving the cave until Julius came to meet him while he was resting. With him he brought a trumpeter swan. He laid it to the ground in front of Alfa and apologized his stupid behavior from earlier. Alfa pointed out that he had overreacted a little bit and apologized his own behavior. He wondered if Julius had caught the swan himself and was very impressed when he explained how centaurs had taught him how to use bow and arrows and how to find way back home. He then left to join the hunting group and left Alfa enjoy his swan in peace. Things started to settle down around Alfa’s family and he was happy when Siren changed her breed and started to get some friends after getting more confident. Like Tropi she learned to live with her new body fast and Alfa was happy to not need to worry about his children anymore. Things carried on pretty normal after that excluding the month long period when winds died out and Alfa and Obsidius had to walk home from Golem Workshop. Later there were two new cases of someone transforming residents against their own will but Alfa guessing them being Nemo’s doing didn’t bother with them. Later there was an incident were a resident was turned into a monster and sent to attack Julius. Alfa really wanted to talk with Nemo after that but couldn’t find her so after the clan got promoted to an Ancient lair he stopped trying and spent his time taking it easy hoping Nemo would contact him. While waiting Obsidius’ daughter Halloween came to tell that Breeze had disappeared. Last time someone had done that they had been turned into familiars by someone who was not Nemo and Alfa understood why she was worried. He promised to help and started to do a bit of research. Not long after that Witchi came to tell Alfa that clan’s nature ambassador Glade had captured him and Alfa came to talk about that with the imperial. Glade was not very willing to let Alfa in his private office but eventually had to bow when Obsidius threatened to go in with force. In the room Alfa soon found Breeze bound and destroyed Glade's researches making sure that his ambassador status did not allow him to act against other elements. If he tried to do this again he would personally drive him away from the clan. As Alfa was leaving explaining the situation to dragons that had come to watch Glade attacked him with his staff and plants started to take over his body. Alfa later woke up in the healing offices where he was greeted by Tahna and Vatta, clan’s plague ambassador and more permissive druid respectively as well as Obsidius guarding the door. They explained what had happened and all agreed they had to do something with Glade. Vatta suggested they’d travel to the Behemoth and report them about Glade’s behavior. Alfa agreed that was best they could do and after having recovered enough they started a journey to the Viridian Labyrinth leaving Obsidius to keep an eye on Glade. In the Labyrinth the trio managed to reach the Behemoth and was allowed to talk with the Ministry. They explained what had happened and pointed out their concerns about Glade’s suitability to ambassador job. The member of the Ministry was a bit strained and not very willing to believe them because of Tahna’s presence but eventually promised to talk about their situation with rest of the Ministry. The trio was allowed to leave and the Scouting Squad escorted them out. The trio arrived home few days before a messenger arrived from the Labyrinth and sensing Glade’s negative reaction towards the message Alfa assumed problems with him to be over. It though didn’t took long for Glade to do something extreme and attacked Tahna. What surprised Alfa was the fact that Nemo had saved him but passed out and was captured by Tinker when she had been recovering in the healing offices. At first Alfa didn’t believe that knowing how careful Nemo was to not end up in situations like that but in the cage that Tinker placed near the gathering area was indeed Nemo. Alfa could sense how stressed she was in so public place and asked Alfa to let her out but Alfa thought she had gone too far with her actions just turned his head remaining silent. Alfa had avoided Nemo’s cage till the trial against her started. He was not very willing to participate and thought about going to raid instead of participating but eventually decided to see what would happen to her. He listened silently as Tinker read a long list of crimes and Nemo admitted most of them. That part of the trial was rather boring to Alfa as he had already figured the crimes out long ago and Tinker most likely noticed that too giving cold glances to him throughout the trial. The punishment part was the only moment in the trial when Alfa said anything and that was to tell why exiling wouldn’t work with her. When it came to choosing the punishment Alfa supported Trooper’s idea of trapping Nemo into a sector that would be part of clan’s defense system. Nemo was a powerful mage and cared a lot about clan’s security but Alfa wasn’t able to tell if she liked the idea keeping her back turned to him. After that Alfa helped to organize the area that was to become Nemo’s prison but when she was brought there Alfa stayed afar rather going to hunt. Few days after that Glade lost his status as an ambassador and though Alfa was happy about that he was confused why the clan had punished him before he lost his status as that was very risky move to make. Things turned out even more confusing when Tinker came to meet him clearly nervous. She asked if he had seen someone but he couldn’t quite understand who she was talking about. Tinker got despaired and lifted Alfa up telling if someone were to remember who she was it was him but Alfa couldn’t remember the dragons she was talking about. Tinker then turned her eyes to a necklace Alfa wore and asked if he remembered who gave it to him but Alfa couldn’t. Tinker put Alfa back to the ground and turned her back swearing as she walked away leaving Alfa confused. After the meeting Alfa was left wondering what was going on. He looked at his protection necklace and remembered it to be from someone important but couldn’t quite put his claw on it. Alfa didn’t know where to look for hints and let the thing bother him hoping he would eventually remember what he had forgotten. Who had given Alfa the amulet and why Tinker had acted so nervous bothered Alfa. He visited Midnight hoping her gift would help him but her story only made him more confused. It wasn't until Nobu killed two dragons and almost also Karmiini when he remembered. Nobu had been blamed to plan poisoning him and Tinker back in Starwood lair during a revolution plan that was orchestrated by Nemo. Remembering the latest episode with the mage he wondered where she was or how she was doing and why she had wiped everyone's memory including him. He kept his eyes open when raiding hoping to see glances of her but was not surprised when he saw no glimpses of her. Months passed by and Alfa believed Nemo had left for good. He was truly surprised when a four dragon herb collector group rushed to the clan having escaped something huge with Nemo among them. Everything was so out of character for Nemo that Alfa believed it was just a lookalike but everything was so Nemo that that could not be the case including how she replied to Tinker. Tinker was very nervous and the situation was closer to shouting competition than an actual conversation. Feeling like the situation being stale Alfa demanded Tinker to shut up wanting to talk with Nemo himself needing Obsidius' help to do that. He asked why she had come back, like that, and she told having not planned that which Alfa believed. He listened silently as the clan went through Nemo's crimes Julius clearly being eager to outright kill Nemo then and there. After the crowd went silent with no resolution Alfa asked Nemo what she was going to do and believed his ears starting to get old when she said she was going to stay and even claim the spot she was given before escape. Tinker hated the idea but Alfa knowing their border guard had been killed by Nobu supported her knowing she would keep the clan safe. Julius almost shot Nemo when Karmiini stood up to ask her questions and after a long silence she suggested they'd accepted Nemo's offer. Alfa was but was not surprised by the mixed reaction the decision got but was happy for Nemo. Knowing he would be anything but trusted in dealing with Nemo's repatriation he focused on keeping his eyes open in case of revolution or rebel acts because of the displease. Julius' blood lust both worried and disappointed Alfa and he tried to talk about that with him but he was not in mood. Witchi though came to tell she had suggested Julius to talk with him and asked Alfa to be honest with him. Julius eventually came and Alfa was able to sense he didn't want to be there. He though asked what Alfa saw in Nemo and he told everything he knew even though he knew she would not allow him tell about her upbringing and why he had decided to stay with her. He understood when Julius had hard time understanding both of his parents but seemingly calmed down a little bit after being told that his centaur friends had done bad things too. Alfa could not tell how Julius was feeling when he left but he no longer reached to his bow when Nemo was being mentioned. After that the clan life was rather peaceful Nova finding a new constellation followed by rangers finding ruins in the wood Alfa guessing they were Nemo's original home. Inspired by that Rosalin made a new temple plan that was accepted by the clan followed by the clan changing its name to "Ruoigu" after the constellation. Alfa worked hard with the temple and was too tired to get involved with familiars they starting to act hostile. Alfa didn't react to gaoler spirits turning hostile either he not being spirit talker. That clearly annoyed Tinker and few nights later she came to demand him to do something. She was followed by a plague dragon who told that Silence had attacked one of them. Alfa cut his rest short after hearing that Silence having never attacked dragons before. The targeted clan though did not know that and accused Alfa's clan for the attack Alfa needing to convince them that they were not behind the attack. Tahna helped the best he could to avoid open conflict the clan not being able to take that. No one knew why Silence or familiars had started to act so hostile most blaming Nemo and distrust was strong within the lair. Alfa wanted to ask Nemo before starting to blame anyone but he was not able to find her even with the bracelets meant to reveal her location. Alfa felt like being in a bad spot trying to avoid war and prevent being seen too suspicious he not blaming Nemo and Glade getting his ambassador status back in the middle of all of the fuss. It was all a lot and Alfa was beyond happy to have the situation with the plague clan solved thanks to exploration the flight did. He was able to rest a little bit during annual House Cup but the situation with familiars or spirits didn't calm down. The House Cup was about to end when Tinker came to suggest they went to the wood and dig Nemo up wherever she was hiding. Alfa accepted the suggestion. The search didn’t go as planned, the group ended up being ambushed by Glade, Shadow, Sapny and Megabrain who revealed to be behind the resent incidents in the clan. They wanted to summon the Shade and once Nemo arrived to help the trapped leaders they rushed to stop the upcoming summoning. There were only three of them and they knew they stood no chance against the summoners. They decided to get help from outside regions Sisi helping Alfa reach the Behemoth. The battle was not easy even with all the help they were able to get, Nemo ended up almost dying among many others while Alfa ended up being poisoned by Glade’s thorns. Along with that Silence had managed to injure his tail base badly when the summoners had sent her to stop what the leaders had tried to do. Despite of that the clan was eventually saved, and Nemo was placed in a cocoon in hopes that she recovered from the battle one night. The clan started to recover slowly after the incident, Alfa recovered from the poisoning and he started to dare leave Nemo to his nest but the hit he had gotten from Silence was stubborn to heal. Obsidius had not been hurt badly while being in stone and was able to carry Alfa when the wound was too painful but he was not able to heal properly needing to keep the clan organized with all the outside help coming and going. It was tiring and after talking about it with Obsidius and later Tinker he declared in the following conference that he would be retiring, at least temporarily. Julius took the place for time being and once Alfa felt like having healed enough nearing the earth holiday he was happy to give Alfa his status back. He took the place back and continued his job dropping the raids entirely and spending his free time taking care of Nemo's cocoon. |

Traits
Alfa is patchy green arcane mirror with patchy orange wings and orange underbelly. Being a veteran fighter Alfa’s body is covered with small scars all around. The largest ones are located on his shoulders with his face having few smaller ones around his mouth. His tail is missing part of its tip and has a scar near the base, his wings and crests have scarred edges and his back has small holes where the plants tried to take over his body. They rarely hinder him but the injury at the tail base can sometimes cause him to limp. Though able to move his crests Alfa prefers keeping them stale all the time having them often in standing position. He has common pink eyes. Though technically a leader Alfa tends to look more like a raider than a high ranking dragon. He wears a brown tan furred shoulder guard it covering his scars, yellow gorget, tan belt made out of bear fur, yellow boots with white fur border, iron arm guard and gloves having gilded claw protectors, yellow tail twist to make tail movement more clear and a very old and worn headband he got from his original family. Around his neck Alfa has a ruby amulet which he got from Nemo before having third litter with her. It is enchanted to protect him from mind controlling and it glows if someone is using magic near him. Alfa is known for his deep and charismatic voice which he keeps calm even when he is angry. He though isn’t afraid of raising his voice when needed and it can be quite strong when compared to his normal voice. His speech is often laid-back but polite and formal. He has mild Canadian accent. Alfa is an active dragon who is often seen doing something be that participating gatherings or clan’s building projects. He is though not a workaholic and can take it easy too especially after a raid trip and some times he does want to be a bit laid-back. If not doing something with his claws he can also do mental job by helping his clan mates the best he can. Alfa is kind dragon and tries to be friends with everyone by default though he has also learned that not everyone like having friends and respects that too. Alfa is a caring dragon and makes sure everyone around him is safe and without problems. After having been forced to take responsibility in the clan Alfa has worked to learn every dragon in the clan the best he can so he can tell what they need any given moment if they need anything. Alfa sees his clan as family and tries to treat both old and new members like that. He is loyal to his clan and tries to always choose the side that benefits most of his clan mates. He is also expecting others to do the same and doesn’t ignore if someone is being harmful to the clan. Despite his raider past Alfa is a peaceful dragon and tries to avoid conflict if possible. He has taken duty to maintain clan’s interactions with other families and meets with them if needed. If situation looks bad he always tries to solve situations by speaking first and if that doesn’t work he can also battle one-on-one if that prevent his clan ending up in war. If the war was to broke up however Alfa would give the leadership to someone with battle strategy and downgrading himself to be a soldier. That way he doesn’t need to choose between his own skin and wasting his battle skills. Alfa has two pets which never leave the lair but stay in and are with Alfa when needed. Karhu the dachshund is Alfa’s little helper who both runs Alfa’s messages across the lair, if he is too lazy to ask actual messengers, and keep tension small in meetings Alfa may keep with emissaries. Kalka the rattle snake in turn acts more like Alfa’s extra bodyguard than anything else. It is active during days when Alfa and his actual bodyguard are asleep and either warns others about their sleep or wakes them up if someone is approaching. Neither of them can speak and Alfa himself rarely pays attention to them unless they demand it. Most of the time they just move across the lair hunting rats. Alfa is a veteran fighter and is very good at battling. He specializes in fast and accurate strikes and agile movements. Alfa though able to doesn’t use magic a lot and most of the time uses it on his attacks only if normal hit wouldn’t do enough damage. Alfa's elemental slash isn’t that impressive and most of time it acts like an electric shock being felt across the body but not causing any kind of paralyzing. Alfa is known for his sharp senses and he is known to be able to read emotions through them. Alfa grew up in a large pack with many different dragons reacting differently to different things and he learned to combine certain signals with certain emotional signals early on. His way of reading emotion doesn’t rely on anything supernatural like energy or mind reading but is instead mostly driven by biological reactions. Alfa has very good smell and he is able to smell hormone other’s body produces in certain situations and when combined with Alfa’s natural heat vision he can deduce what emotions the other is feeling and act based on that. |
