There's not much of a grand fancy concept behind these really, and I'm not too tied down to the names of the genes either. Honestly, I just started doodling shapes on a wildclaw, and liked the direction that it started to go in!
Of course, I couldn't help but play around and try out different colour combos too. :D The colours were eyedropped from seraph.
Also, not sure if I should post this again in the secondary gene suggestion thread...? :T

Adding to the wonderful variety of suggestions of different shark species; carpet shark AKA wobbegong!
Their pattern looks oddly flowery and mosaic-y!

Can't sleep. Pendulums will get me.
what about patterns that take from turtle shells? Even the rest of the body is interesting, including the belly pattern!

Galore's primary gene is absolutely lovely; most of the scries I've seen have used Speckle, but that's not quite it - it's especially noticeable on the tail. A band of darker color on top that patches away to a slightly lighter color would make a great primary along the simple/natural vein so often requested.

this would be SO lovely. i'm imagining something like littlefoot's markings from the land before time...

id love something like this it’s so cute <3

A watercolor gene, multi colored, cloudy patches with a touch of texture on a light/lighter colored base. Probably be a good Baldwin gene.

A 'Hollow' gene would be perfect for villain OC's! It would have holes speckled through the body that you could see through, as if a few termites gnawed a few tunnels.

How about this: fish scales! Displayed on a Tundra because they are the least scaly regular breed. I really want a primary gene that doesn't darken the base colors, but shifts the hue instead. Similar to Iridescent. Depending on the color, it can be more or less vibrant and contrasting. Here are Auburn, Spearmint, Ultramarine and Pistachio.

Primary Gene: Fluffy and Secondary Gene: Furry!
Adds a fur texture to the dragon. For tundras, it's extra fluffy time!
I imagine this to be a pretty detailed gene with shadows and highlights tailored to each color, and of course with a two-tone effect on the usual suspects like Metals and Copper.
Similar to osiem's "extra fluffy" accent series, but the colors more in line with the gene colors themselves.
