Ooh, what an exciting way to get started! Oesen definitely has the advantage right now--a familiar, a berserker stone, and a potion? A pretty good starting lineup imo. I'm sure the others will catch up quick since it's just the start, but for the moment he's definitely on top!
Also, I am absolutely in love with the writing so far! It brings me back to the days when I ran Hunger Games simulators on the forums XD I also really appreciate your unique idea to feed these guys only with what they earn--I totally forgot about selective feeding! I wonder if everyone will get a chance to coli before their hunger bars run out? Does total starvation = instant death?

@TheAwesoMew Ah thank you ! I'm glad you're liking it so far :>
Yes, starvation = instant death. I don't think I'll give them extra chances via their extra lives in this case, since that would imply that they eat their familiar / clothes, which isn't what I want to think about ^^; Plus it takes so long for starvation to actually happen, and dragons have opportunities to trade food during Trinket days, so if they do end up dying from starvation, I think they would've had plenty of opportunities to get food before that happens.

Driven solely by anger, Seed races into the woods, determined to get revenge. However, instead of spotting Aquaheart, he sees a different dragon altogether, and recognizes it as Oesen. Knowing him to be the dragon who had taken the most supplies, Seed doesn't hesitate to charge at him, leaping out with claws extended.
Oesen, too preoccupied with what to do next, doesn't react in time to this attack. His Silky Webwing, however, does notice, and with a cry of alarm, flies in front of Seed's attack. His claws sink into the familiar's skin and rips both feathers and flesh.
The Silky Webwing falls to the ground, motionless.
Seed shakes off the blood and rounds back on Oesen, but before he can attack again, he spots something in the bush and freezes.
It's a tall, bulking creature, large fangs dripping with blood, standing over the prone body of Xanbear, a tribute from District 3. The scent of fresh blood from the fallen Silky Webwing has the creature growling, and before anyone can think to yell, it pounces and lands right upon the dragon closest to it, Seed.
As the creature tears into Seed, Oesen shake the fear from his legs and finally dashes away, trying to ignore the way the screams behind him echo in his ears.
Two cannon fires sound.
The Games continue.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
@TheAwesoMew
And we have our first deaths ! Xanbear, being only level 1, fell in the first round, and Seed fell a few rounds later, along with Oesen's extra life. Oesen (who is still at level 4) managed to stay alive for the rest of the rounds, so he'll be the only one from this team continuing onwards, and he's also the one who gets the pulled food item, as well as the one plant that Seed had in his personal inventory.
It was funny how the RNG picked both Oesen and Seed in the same exact spots as last team. Then it picked the Woodland Path as the venue, and poor underleveled Xanbear couldn't stand a chance ^^; I feel a bit bad about killing Xanbear offscreen, but I didn't want to spend too long on him when I knew he was going to die anyway.
I'm going to try and do another "day" today with the item I pulled from Pinkerton today, and I also have a material item that I pulled like, two days ago that I'm saving for when I want to do a little prose piece about one of the dragons.
Things are beginning to heat up, and even though Oesen has lost his extra life, he still has the most food out of everyone. Will he be able to keep it that way ?
It remains unknown if the origin of the name comes from the color of the flowers, or the slight toxicity that can raise a dragon's temperature.
Somewhere else in the arena, Waverly, Rocket, and RuneScraper all stumble into the same clearing. There's a moment of silence as they all stare at one another, before their survival instincts win out and the fighting commences.
Waverly attempts to team up with her district partner RuneScraper, but once her guard goes down, he suddenly turns and attacks her instead, tearing a long and deep wound into her side. As she gasps and looks at him, Rocket finds the opportunity to rip another wound on her other side.
With the combined attacks, Waverly goes down quickly. Silently, RuneScraper begins to collect the things she had gathered in her own bag and stuffed it into his own. Rocket watches in unease as Waverly slowly loses her life on the ground.
It isn't until RuneScraper has stood and left that Rocket reluctantly begins to search her bag for himself. To his surprise, most of her supplies are still there. He squints up at where RuneScraper had retreated, and wonders.
A single cannon fires.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
@TheAwesoMew
And another one bites the dust. Unfortunately, we had terrible luck on the second match with almost everyone missing, so Waverly took the loss there. Rocket and RuneScraper, however, made it through the rest of the rounds and are now at level 4. As the dragon picked first out of the two who survived, Rocket gets the fish item pulled.

Somewhere else in the arena, Waverly, Rocket, and RuneScraper all stumble into the same clearing. There's a moment of silence as they all stare at one another, before their survival instincts win out and the fighting commences.
Waverly attempts to team up with her district partner RuneScraper, but once her guard goes down, he suddenly turns and attacks her instead, tearing a long and deep wound into her side. As she gasps and looks at him, Rocket finds the opportunity to rip another wound on her other side.
With the combined attacks, Waverly goes down quickly. Silently, RuneScraper begins to collect the things she had gathered in her own bag and stuffed it into his own. Rocket watches in unease as Waverly slowly loses her life on the ground.
It isn't until RuneScraper has stood and left that Rocket reluctantly begins to search her bag for himself. To his surprise, most of her supplies are still there. He squints up at where RuneScraper had retreated, and wonders.
Story wise, things are getting a little interesting. Why did RuneScraper turn on his district partner ? Why did he leave most of it for Rocket ? Maybe we'll get to see the answers before he dies loll.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Towards the end of the first day, a sudden and loud horn sounds from the center of the arena. The ground shakes, and from the soil many strange, plant-like monsters begin to emerge. Groaning and hissing, these monsters disperse throughout the arena.
The first dragons they run into are Avekir and Rad, who then try and run away. From an unspoken agreement, the two stick together and weave through the trees until Rad spots someone else through the woods.
It's Blackcape, and she recognizes him from when the two of them and Direeye had defeated a smaller group of creatures. She calls out to him, and after a brief moment of hesitation, joins Rad and Avekir so that he wouldn't be run down by the horde chasing them.
Eventually, they have no where to left to run. A cliff face blocks their path, and the monsters behind them are not slowing down. The three dragons look to one another, nod, and turn to face the incoming enemies.
The fight is long, but in the end, it is hard won. Though they sustain injuries, none of them fall. It's then that they realize that there are supplies strapped to the backs of each monster as some sort of sick form of reward. Blackcape takes his share of the supplies without a word, and leaves the other two behind with just as many.
Avekir and Rad, however, linger longer together. They quietly exchange names as they sift through the rest of the supplies. On one particular monster that Avekir is searching, he finds two small familiars trapped together on the monster's back. When he cuts them free, they immediately go to his side and stay there, ignoring the way he flinches from their touch.
Rad laughs at this, and they start making camp for the night.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
@TheAwesoMew @Avrap
A new leader of the pack emerges ! Avekir takes the lead as the dragon who has the most second chances, since he got not one, but two familiars this round. It also helps that the RNG picked the Training Fields for them all to go into rather than the Woodland Path, since Avekir was only level 1 and the rest were already level 4.
As a result of this round, Avekir is now at level 4 and both Blackcape and Rad are at level 5, making them the highest leveled dragons in the challenge. And as such, Blackcape will be the one to gain the picked fish item since he is the highest leveled dragon on the team and was picked before Rad.
You'll also note that the Drakeharvest has started, which means dragons who get picked for the coli at this time will gain more experience and have a higher chance of getting plant food and the season's familiars. This will give them an advantage, so the dragons may hope to get picked now rather than later !
Let me know if you have any questions or comments about anything !

Well yall, it finally happened. After waking up, still tired and groggy, I went on Flight Rising on my phone and tried to tap on my notifications. Of course, I ended up tapping the automatic feed button instead, and all the dragons in my lair wer fed, including the ones from this challenge. Unfortunately, I do not remember most of which dragons had what health left. I know most of them had less than half, but some also had only 5 or 6 points off.
I'm going to try and remedy this by putting what I think their health was when I did this into their personal inventories, and I'll keep official track of them there from here on out. This has bummed me out a bit cause I really did like doing it this way and had been really good at not doing ... what I just did loll.
I'll keep yall updated if I change anything else !

Alliances
Rad and Avekir have entered an alliance
Direeye and Arnold have entered an alliance
Gisil and Blackcape have entered an alliance
~~~~~~~~~~~~
At their camp, Avekir solidifies his alliance with Rad by sparing her some of his extra plant food.
Elsewhere, two more alliances are created. Direeye and Arnold meet up after escaping from a particularly large group of monsters. Direeye notices how Arnold moves slow due to not having eaten since the Games started, and so gives him her insects and some meat food that she cannot eat. After a small talk, they agree to form an alliance against the other tributes.
Meanwhile, Gisil and Blackcape encounter one another as they are fighting off monsters. Stronger and with a full belly, Blackcape steps in front of a blow meant for Gisil and swiftly kills the last enemy off. Gisil, grateful beyond words, tends to the small wound and quickly consumes the meat that Blackcape cannot. They huddle close against the cold of the night.
As this happens, Aquaheart comes across Littlejaw. Wanting to have her own alliance, she offers the spiral dragon a piece of meat that she had been saving for this very purpose. However, Littlejaw has no interest in forming an alliance with her at all. She takes the meat and runs off before Aquaheart can protest.
Everyone else spends the night alone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
@TheAwesoMew @Avrap
All right, I think I did it ! Using math and calculating how many days it's been since I started this challenge and how much food each dragon has or has not consumed, I've come up with the correct health points each dragon should have at this point. I'm 99% sure about it. So, each dragon will now have their health shown next to their name on their personal inventories and I'll update them there as their health goes down from lack of feeding.
And we also have our first trinket day ! Some alliances have been formed, and some almost starving dragons have been given some food as a result of that ! Will these alliances last long ?

Alliances
Rad and Avekir have entered an alliance
Direeye and Arnold have entered an alliance
Gisil and Blackcape have entered an alliance
~~~~~~~~~~~~
At their camp, Avekir solidifies his alliance with Rad by sparing her some of his extra plant food.
Elsewhere, two more alliances are created. Direeye and Arnold meet up after escaping from a particularly large group of monsters. Direeye notices how Arnold moves slow due to not having eaten since the Games started, and so gives him her insects and some meat food that she cannot eat. After a small talk, they agree to form an alliance against the other tributes.
Meanwhile, Gisil and Blackcape encounter one another as they are fighting off monsters. Stronger and with a full belly, Blackcape steps in front of a blow meant for Gisil and swiftly kills the last enemy off. Gisil, grateful beyond words, tends to the small wound and quickly consumes the meat that Blackcape cannot. They huddle close against the cold of the night.
As this happens, Aquaheart comes across Littlejaw. Wanting to have her own alliance, she offers the spiral dragon a piece of meat that she had been saving for this very purpose. However, Littlejaw has no interest in forming an alliance with her at all. She takes the meat and runs off before Aquaheart can protest.
All right, I think I did it ! Using math and calculating how many days it's been since I started this challenge and how much food each dragon has or has not consumed, I've come up with the correct health points each dragon should have at this point. I'm 99% sure about it. So, each dragon will now have their health shown next to their name on their personal inventories and I'll update them there as their health goes down from lack of feeding.
And we also have our first trinket day ! Some alliances have been formed, and some almost starving dragons have been given some food as a result of that ! Will these alliances last long ?
