This guy's been alive for a whole year, was unbred and unnamed, and basically fodder prices. I'm floored and ecstatic I managed to snag this guy because he's going to help [i]so much[/i] with my project, which I was kind of struggling with. This actually changes a lot of things! Unfortunately I exalted her partner that produced Seryoga, which I regret - and is one of the reasons I hang onto dragons even if it looks like I'm done with them, because you never know! Althea and Sylphide will make a nice 1-1-1-3 range once I give her a coatl scroll, so I'm adding them as an active pair. As for Nia, she's a 2-1-1-4 imperial. I'd like to pair her up with Iruera + Volyno's offspring to create another pairing and hopefully get a 1-1-1-3 imperial out of her lineage that isn't related to Sylphide and Seryoga. Thanks to Galore's most recent gift of 25 of the [gamedb item=11818] item (one of the two items needed for the Swipp trade for the familiar; they're very rare and expensive which was what was making this familiar's price expensive!), the price has literally shot down from around 2000g to 700g in the span of a few days! How exciting. I was able to buy the other items I needed and complete a Swipp trade to get this familiar finally! This familiar actually works really well thematically for Nameless on a lot of levels; for one, he's named after my persona who is actually named [b]Vermillion[/b], matching the "Vermillion" Epiptite. Secondly, there's a very strong dragonfly-theme in my personas and personal world/storytelling, and this familiar is a dragonfly! Furthermore, I think it color-matches quite well, and also Nameless has an association with insects. The journey does not make me feel attached; if anything, I wind up just being more aggravated and frustrated with how long it takes to finish them, and by the time I'm done I feel exasperated instead of happy. The excitement of having that dragon completely wears off. By contrast, the faster I get the dragon done, and when I ride off the excitement and have them completely finished, that feeling doesn't seem to fade. I'm happy and excited with the dragon still. The problem is, some of these I was kind of attached to, but also at the same time, had no real ideas or plans for them past just "having" them. And while that's valid in and of itself, I feel like with them cluttering my lair it was just time to say goodbye. I've come to the realization I was holding onto dragons more because of the "sunk cost fallacy" (in other words, I'd spent so much time/effort on them already I felt obligated to keep them) than my real desire to have them. Having gotten rid of so many already in my purge, I honestly feel a lot happier with my lair. I'd rather have [b]LESS[/b] dragons that are fully complete than tons of dragons who aren't, no matter how cool/impressive/etc. they are. I want to be able to work on a dragon one-at-a-time, so that excitement doesn't die. I've noticed for a long time I haven't been enjoying playing FR despite how much I love this game, and it's because of JUST how much crap I've buried myself under for projects. So this lair purge? Extremely cathartic. I've also got individual reasons for getting rid of some of these, which I'll list below - [b]VV:[/b] For the VV primals / "Storm" dragons, I'm getting rid of them because they were both supposed to be flight reps - the primals obviously being... well... primals, and the ones ending in "Storm" all shared a common ID - 12387 as the last five digits, which is my user ID. But I didn't really have any lore ideas for these dragons at all. They were just going to sit there looking pretty and taking up space, so they needed to go. For Void, I really just fell out of love with this dragon and want a different one that works better for the idea I have in mind. For Pileate, I had Rise, who was meant to convey the same concept/character; Rise is not only a special ID, but was born on Leap Day, and has Plague Rare. With Pileate only having "special ID" going for him, I decided to yeet him, since I didn't need two of the same character. The rest that I haven't mentioned specifically here were actually fandragons and... frankly? That kind of breaks the point of the VV subclan, so I decided to get rid of them. Besides, it's going to be redundant when I'm going to have fandragons of said characters in the rest of my subclans, so again having two was pointless. [b]EE:[/b] As pretty as Galeem was, I've decided I'm going to actually make EE entirely comprised of G1 dragons for lore reasons. Considering they're all [b]resurrected[/b] entities, I don't want them to have traceable lineages. This means Galeem had to go - and yes, it DOES mean I am now looking for a G1 Light Primal to replace him as clan leader, which is going to be even more obnoxious to get than a Light Primal. But considering I've figured out how to make a lot more money on this site, I'm actually not that worried about it. At any rate, it's not a priority right now. [b]GG/TT:[/b] For Validar... I've literally just. Gone through so many Shadow Primal dragons and I haven't felt like ANY of them have actually stuck for what I want. As pretty as that dragon was I just don't feel like the colors really fit what I'm after for this character. For the rest of them, I just wasn't really vibing with them for one reason or another. I just kind of fell out of love with them. [b]BB:[/b] I'm literally clearing out BB entirely, clan leader and all, because of a primary reason: I think I've decided that I won't be returning to Plague flight after all my primal / special eye breeding projects are done. As much as I loved Plague flight in the first few years, some things happened that have ultimately made me feel rather distant from my flight. I still really love the aesthetic and lore, and my clan lore will still be set in Plague flight, but I'm just not really feeling in-tune with its community any more. That being said, if Earth is still a Dom powerhouse by the time I finish up my breeding projects, I will probably move there for the benefits. If it isn't, then I'll likely settle down in either Wind, Lightning, or Ice admittedly. You may be wondering how this all relates to getting rid of my BB subclan for now - it's because it was meant to be a hatchery, and all the pairs were themed around having red eyes or something that could work with Plague element. That's no longer necessary; in fact, I may not actually even do a hatchery to be honest. I don't have much fun breeding dragons at this point, and spamming a ton of look-a-likes waiting around and having them rot in my lair for weeks trying to sell them doesn't sound very fun to me. I think, whichever flight I wind up being in, I'll just have BB be a bunch of fodder-producing pairs to maximize on my money output so I can actually save up for dragons and genes and whatnot that I actually want. ----- [b][size=5]OTHER UPDATES:[/size][/b] On another note... let's talk about this thread. I'm gonna be real, I am getting to the point where updating this goshdang thread is an absolute chore, and, instead of helping me organize everything it's something that makes me feel stressed out. So I'm actually making a big change: from now on, pretty much my posts + updates aren't going to be formatted super cleanly. I'm just going to be making it low-key for myself instead of messing with all these dang dragon and item and whatever codes to make it look all fancy because I have exactly 0 energy to keep bothering with that. I'm also probably going to be posting more as I get things done rather than cramming it all into one post/update because I frankly do not like the cluttered look of those posts. It actually also stresses me out and I find it super annoying to scroll through so much crap to be able to post another post of so much crap. I need something that's not so convoluted and gets right to the point so I can actually just... update my thread without it being the most obnoxious thing ever. On that note, I'm also not going to spam this thread a bunch with my breeding project crap unless I get something worth mentioning. I've noticed a lot of my updates literally just wind up being "wow I got nothing good yet again" mode and honestly I'm really tired of posting so much dragon information for fodder I'm just yeeting out the window.
