See how deeply it takes root, see how far it will dare to go before breaking forth from this shell of emptiness and desolation into the greater world unknown. Everytime they breathed, a mysterious violet fog seeped forth from their mouth. Some dismissed it, others made wary - but soon a pattern of bad luck began to establish itself. They were a harbinger of misfortune, of ill will, of things better left unsaid. Not a single reasonable individual wants to dance that closely to fate, tempting their demise - and so, best not to meddle with such a beast. Exile. Isolation. But even so, they were still duty-bound to contain the Shade that had corrupted their mortal vessel. And thus, they became a prison unto themselves, a keeper of the miasma within their very quintessence. Miasma is a wanderer, with no real place to call home, and can be found roaming the desecrated wastelands of Sornieth, far beyond the reach of most living creatures. Should you see those piercing lavender eyes glaring at you from the encroaching darkness, be warned: stay away, for your own safety, lest you too fall victim to the same fate. I think that, for the most part, catches me up on all of my major pieces I've done within the past few months. I'm very slow at art, unfortunately. However, I do have several things at varying stages of completion. I'll probably make something a lot more refined for them later; if so, I may end up posting the WIP to this thread as-is. → I wrote lore for my fandragon for Octavo (COH), but the dragon doesn't currently exist yet as he's still a breeding project. However, the lore totals [b]11,803 words[/b] or 65,692 characters (although give or take because I may make revisions) which is definitely higher than FR's biography character limit, and that's without including the extra graphics and coding and formatting for his profile… so… rip? I accidentally wrote a super long lore that can’t even fit on his page. (I have a solution in mind, however, so I'm not worried about it.) It is true that all dragons bare an element themselves; it is what powers their life and their magic. Some are more physical entities than others, and some are, well... living embodiments of that magic, just like the deities themselves, even though they are not as grand, or flashy, or even able to be seen by the normal eye. Sometimes, it's invisible, undetectable, only knowable by the creature themselves. But the demise that felled the last banescales and their song of sorrow and remorse could tell you that all things will return to their element one day - that at each dragon's core, they [i]are[/i] that living element. Their mortal vessel is but a container waiting to be freed. Icestorm was different from many of his spiral brethren, who were off enjoying dancing in the sky, making vivacious and energetic loops with their agile frames. He watched them from afar, just barely being able to detect their tiny bodies from the ground, and felt rather apathetic to their antics, his cold eyes narrowing in disdain. Any being that touched him would find themselves in shock from his icy skin, and everywhere he went, a violent storm of snow followed - thus, his name. It did not take very long for him to become an outsider to almost any group, as most dragons did not enjoy the frigid temperatures. Icestorm, however, reveled in it. Already the air was thickening into a blizzard with his passage through this territory; the other spirals in the distance would want to take shelter soon, lest their wings freeze over. Turning, Icestorm decided it was time to move on, as if something was calling him to another place, another time. If you looked closely enough, perhaps you could just ever so slightly observe the silhouette of a dragon, albeit one composed entirely of ice crystals, moving across the world as seasons change - the embodiment of winter itself.
