This thread is going to be devoted to what is my most ambitious breeding project to date: a wind primal imperial! And not just any wind primal, but one of very specific colors / gender combination! My last primal breeding project ([b]WARNING: Plague Primal! The way I approached my primal breeding project was by having four different unrelated dragons (each being their own respective breeding project) of the exact coloration I wanted (Storm/Grapefruit/Saffron) to make two pairs (pairing 1: [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/46554074][b]Tavin[/b][/url]+[url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/47750798][b]Minsoo[/b][/url]; pairing 2: [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/48775101][b]Aili[/b][/url]+[url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/52355204][b]Sabori[/b][/url]), all of which were plentifuls for the minimum cooldown. They were my "progenitors" or first bloodline dragons for the project. I then used them to make more pairings out of their respective offspring since they were all unrelated to each other. A 5 day incubation period for nests means I would need at least 3 nest batches for a 15 day cooldown (15 divided by 5 = 3). Since each batch of nests can have up to 5 nests total, that means I need 5 pairings, or 10 dragons total each batch. 3 nest batches x 10 dragons = 30 dragons total needed to make 15 pairings to maximize on a continuous output until my primal breeding project was achieved. So what if... I took this logic to the extreme, and instead of plentifuls, attempted to breed a primal of the only breed that cannot reasonably be breed-changed? That's right, folks. Come watch RNG troll me for what I assume is going to take [i]years[/i] to land on the right combination! (Although I'm not going to complain if it decides to prove me wrong!) I'm going to need [b]70 dragons total[/b] (or 35 males/females each) if I want to be able to cycle pairings in continuously for this project! (For anyone interested in the math: 35 days of cooldown divided by 5 nest incubations = 7 nest cycles. 5 nests x 2 dragons in a pairing = 10. 7 nest cycles x 10 dragons = 70.) I've never once switched flights until just now, and I've been loyal to Plague for [b]7 whole years[/b]! Time for a change of scenery, as I've moved to [b]Wind[/b] just for this project!
