Ah, I have some wholesome dragons. :) And since you also like edgy lore, I have some that actually kind of fit both parameters! It seems like just what the doctor ordered for you, and I really hope it is! (Also, I'll avoid wholesome tragedy.)
First, for some lighthearted stuff. :)
Glint is a traveling poet! Her lore is on the lighter side in both volume and theme (also literally since she's a Wind/Light dragon.) Maybe she'll help you out with her Serthis friend. :D
Next, I have Jyuusoku! He's an absolute wallflower of a kodama, with a quiet, shy voice, but will also make tea and beignets for you. :)
Now traveling from the most lighthearted to "still wholesome but with some misfortune."
Medjool is an earnest and sincere guy who just cannot land a 2nd date no matter how hard he tries. (And maybe he tries too hard, but that's beside the point.) He still will not give up on finding his perfect girl, though!
Alec is an absolute sweetie. He loves nothing more than cuddling, dancing, and giving people compliments. He's also extremely naive, though, and doesn't realize the sinister nature of his trick troupe "family." So far, he's not been harmed or anything, but there's a friend who sometimes watches from the shadows out of pure concern for he who has no red flags anywhere in his brain.
Okay, so this next one's kind of long but also quite wholesome. If you feel like sitting down for a bit of a read, this wouldn't be a bad one to pick up. This is Travis. He
did make a contract with an eldritch horror, but he did it for the sake of getting rid of the bad luck the lady he loves has. It cost him his memories and now he has a mysterious condition, but he doesn't regret it one bit. He's just content to assist where his beloved needs him and now he's living happily with her.
And finally, Ossutek. (I would share Aurion, but he's away on a nest right now.) Now, this guy's story is very long and unfinished, but you can find it in the Creative forums, linked in his bio. (That said, the link in Ossu's bio only goes to where he enters the story, so I recommend going to Page 1 where the story about Auri begins.) It's a story about family, and includes a lot of slice of life themes, but with a twist. You see, Aurion is a necromancer. So there's that. Still, it actually is quite wholesome and sweet, and I think you'd like it! :D
