After successfully finding herself a place to say last night, Lotineve could now say that they were... slightly less lost. Their eavesdropping had revealed to them that this was the clan she thought it was, just decorated for the holidays, but she still couldn't figure out what holiday it was meant to be. She would have asked Cypraea, if she had been able to find her the previous evening, but that had been a bust. She must have called it a night early. Well, no matter; it was a new day, and about time for the two of them to be on their merry way.
Lotineve made a small breakfast for herself and Loch in her rented cabin's small kitchen before they left the house, eager to find the familiar sandsurge somewhere in this unfamiliar town. However, once they were outside, their attention was immediately caught by a strange gathering of dragons in front of a different den. She remembered that metallic wildclaw they'd seen bickering with another dragon going into that house last night, so it must have been where he lived, but he did not appear to be among the dragons outside. Naturally curious, they and their familiar began to approach until a new voice snatched their attention away.
"I can't believe she did that!"
The tundra snapped her head in the direction of the voice, and saw an annoyed-looking abberation with extra limbs glancing about, as if asking for someone to reply to her outburst. Since no one else was taking the opportunity, Lotineve bounded over herself, her familiar close behind her. "Who did what?" she asked the pinkish dragon with a curious tilt of her head. Maybe she was being nosy, but hey, if you want to keep something to yourself, you probably shouldn't yell it out in front of half the clan.

Cypraea slept well and woke up feeling refreshed.
She cooked a nice breakfast for herself: eggs, bacon and cricket toast. As she enjoyed her meal, she mentally made plans for the day. She decided to find Lotineve first, and together they’ll meet with the owner, pay for their stay and leave when the tundra feels ready.
When she left her room, she caught a faint scent of smoke. Seemed like one of the guests had overcooked their breakfast. Her nose wrinkled from the smell, but she continued her search, passing by a couple of houses. Thankfully she only had to walk for a few minutes before finding the environmental activist.
Lotineve wasn’t alone though. Other dragons were there too, many of them were talking to each other. It’s too early in the day for this. Cypraea thought to herself. She awkwardly approached the group and, not wanting to interrupt anything, gave Lotineve a nod in greeting that she hoped was noticed.
“Good day.” She said to no one in particular. She stood by the side of the den and stared at the clouds.

Being interrupted by a Fae-sized creature is much more normal, and for that he honestly feels a bit grateful to this guest.

A characterist sly smile drew across her lips, as she leaned closer to Lotineve and just so slightly lowered her voice, more to add suspense rather than to avoid being overheard.
"Girl." The left head began. "Have you noticed a certain someone has been missing this morning? Little fae, drenched in blood, fills the room with a really strong smell of iron?"
She didn't give the tundra time to respond before the right head continued. "Well. Get this. There was a fire in the forest last night. Totally dragon made. There is an arsonist here in the clan! And when was this?" She added a little pause for dramatic effect, then exclaimed "That's right girl, at the same time the fae was missing! Isn't that wild? Who even causes forest fires anymore?"

Lotineve gasped at the aberration's words, causing Loch to jump as well. A forest fire, here? And one that was intentionally set, no less! "Oh, this clan needs more help than I thought," she breathed, her environmental activist heart tightening at the thought of such reckless arson. Didn't the perpetrator know how many indigenous species of flora and fauna were nearing extinction due to dragon-made fires and deforestation? Well, if they didn't, then Lotineve would certainly teach them!
Their mind drifted back to the bloody fae that they'd seen smacking another dragon with a paper the previous night. If this observant lady's description was to be trusted, then that fae very well could have been the culprit! She'd had the look of a troublemaker about her, to be sure, but Lotineve would never have expected her to stoop so low. "Do you know where she is now?" she asked, already formulating a plan to confront her. "No, wait - I need to tell Cypraea about this. I can't just leave this clan unchecked with an arsonist in their midst." She looked around, and almost immediately spotted that familiar sandsurge nodding to her from nearby before looking up to the clouds.
"Cypraea!" she called out, enthusiastically waving an arm in the air to catch the other dragon's attention. "Come here, quick! I think we might have to stay in this clan for a couple extra days!"

Scarlet's search had gone cold, but something was up with this clan.
Scarlet stalked out of her den that morning, her cat Idalia, who had come with her on her journey, following close behind. Dragons spoke beyond the trees, voices edged with anxiety, and she approached through the forest.
She stopped when she came upon a scorched patch of undergrowth, a pile of ash in the middle. Clearly, someone wasn't using their fire powers safely.
She looked at her familiar and crossed her arms. "Little flameow meow, have you been a naughty kitty?"

It was a great night, if you asked Esprit.
The thousands of lit pumpkins were a sight to behold, the spooky yet charming decorations glowing in the candlelight. She peeked out from a window at the crack of dawn, grinning when she realized most of the lit jack-o-lanterns were still intact.
Well, most. She couldn't help but conveniently notice one of them was missing from a path. Probably nothing though, maybe someone tripped over it! Esprit had more things to do, namely greet guests that she had not gotten to last night! Full of energy, she bounded over straight through the window, costume still intact, and approached a duo of a water-looking Tundra and a pink Aberration.
"... fire... did that."
The ghost caught the last of the conversation before landing, fully visible, in front of the two. She tilted her head - fire? What fire? There were plenty of candles hidden in ways that would resemble little ghost flames - was that it? She decided to break the barrier and just ask.
"Hello! You're both guests here, right?" She smiled, trying her best to maintain her "not threatening or terrifying at all even though I'm a ghost" expression. "My name's Esprit! What's this all about a fire? Is it something about the decorations? If so, do tell me how you feel about them!"
