Impulsive / Practical / Protective Scarlet came from a family of aristocrats deep within the Ashfall Waste. Scarlet was raised to be a proper and polite lady, who would one day inherit her parents' land. However, in her teen years, she decided she didn't want to have anything to do with the life they had planned out for her. In an act of teenage defiance, she started spending time with the local commoners after her lessons. Soon, she started picking up their mannerisms and becoming much less proper. Her parents were angry with her and shortened her leash significantly. They hired a dragon to follow her everywhere and gave her a strict curfew. She felt restricted and decided it was better to run away than let them choose her future for her. On the road, Scarlet realized that she would need to find a way to get money. Because of her skill in fighting due to her past training, she decided to duel. She fought in many duels. Every time she fought, she learned her opponent's skills and got better and better. She became almost unstoppable in her youth, winning every duel she fought in - she was infamous among the dueling community. On her travels, she learned of another dueler of equal status, a rival. The other dragon had learned of her too on her own travels. The two were prideful and eager to show everyone which one was the stronger dragon. They agreed to a duel and met at noon in the middle of the trading post. Hundreds surrounded Scarlet and her opponent, Artemis, cheering on their respective sides as they prepared for battle. Both were sure that they would be the victor. Once the battle started, the two launched themselves at each other with a great force that knocked them both out of the air. They began to grapple with each other. Scarlet relied on brute strength and a little bit of fire while Artemis relied on magic and precise hits. The two fought for a long time, neither getting a sufficient upper hand. As the sun was going down, the two were exhausted and wounded. However, they refused to give up their fight. Neither would concede and accept that they weren't the better of the two.

A small storm started as the sun reached the horizon. Scarlet and Artemis lay on opposite sides of the court. Many of the spectators had gone home, either due to boredom or to find shelter from the storm. Only a handful was left to watch the two bedraggled dragons fight. Although the two were lying down, neither were ready to admit defeat. As they both stood up, ready to go again, a lightning bolt hit a tree next to the court. It fell down in front of the two dragons, perfectly dividing the court in half. It was as though the deities themselves willed them to end their battle, and the two collapsed in bloody heaps.

They stayed in the village for weeks, recovering from their long battle. The two got acquainted with each other over that time. They were surprisingly relieved to find an equal. As Artemis got ready to leave on her lone journey, Scarlet stopped her, asking to go with her. Scarlet had deeply admired Artemis's skill and wit and wanted to learn more about her. Artemis agreed, feeling the same, and they began their journey together. Scarlet was secretly attracted to Artemis at the time, and their friendship soon blossomed into something more. They fell in love, fighting together against their opponents. For years, they continued their journey, still equals.

One day, they found an egg in the forest. There was no one around at the time, so they stayed with the egg, hoping its parent would return. They waited for three days while taking turns with the egg, and they had enough. Scarlet considered turning the egg into the closest clan, but before she could make a definitive decision, the egg hatched. Out, came a little black and pink Tundra. The Tundra immediately clung to Artemis and wouldn't let go unless it was to cling to Scarlet. Artemis and Scarlet looked at each other on that day and realized that they were parents now.

They continued down the road while taking turns carrying little Sakura in a makeshift sling. One day, they decided to stop and rest in a cave. Scarlet and Sakura were at the cave opening when it happened. Artemis was farther in. An earthquake shook the earth, collapsing the cave over Artemis' head. Scarlet frantically dug to save her mate, but her tiny arms were no use. A pack of nearby Mirrors saw the commotion and agreed to help her dig Artemis out. By the time they uncovered her, she was barely breathing. One Mirror told Scarlet that he was sure Artemis wasn't going to make it, but Scarlet wasn't going to give up that easily -- Artemis was one of the strongest dragons, she had ever met, and no matter what, Artemis could make it through anything.

And so, two Mirrors agreed to help her take Artemis to the nearest clan to find a healer.

It took 5 hours to reach Prism Clan on foot. Scarlet had helped clear the dirt from Artemis's throat in the meantime. At the time, it was a fledgling clan, and their only healer hadn't healed since he lost his eyesight. However, it had to do. After a few months, Artemis had recovered. However, she wasn't a skilled fighter like she used to be. This saddened Artemis. Although she sympathized with her, Scarlet was just happy that Artemis was alive and healthy.

Because of the clan's kindness and because of the desire for their daughter to have a home, they decided to join the clan and retire from their days of dueling. With her strength, Scarlet became the lead warrior for the clan, and Artemis became the lead huntress. For the last so many years, the two dragons have watched their daughter grow up in Prism Clan.
