Hello everyone!

I'm Aquilla and recently joined the site! Took me a while to find the courage to make a proper forum post. ;u;

I've already gotten acquainted with some of the site functions such as how to use the AH, how to make some treasure (G&G is a godsend!) and I'm starting to have a better grasp on the rocket science that is dragon breeding. That being said, I still have loads to learn so any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated!

I'd also love to get to know some of you, so that the forums don't seem like such an intimidating place anymore :'D

My hobbies include video games, drawing and art (I run and art shop on another forum and might open one here too in the future :3), reading and the latest addition: obsessing over my pixel dragons.

Cheers!

Hey there @AquiIIa! [emoji=firework size=1]Wishing you a warm welcome to Flight Rising![emoji=firework size=1] Oh, understandable: the forums can seem very intimidating at first! (the baldwin materials you get from baldwin vary in rarity and price, so check the auction house for that: you can often sell them for gems as well on the auction house!) This is a reliable passive income source, though you cannot melt stacks and have to check in once a while to melt a new item. It does work with 30-min intervals though and is thus compatible with The Pomodoro Technique, which is a very efficient study method!
[emoji=eliminate size=1] Level cheap fodder dragons in the mire with a lvl 25 mire trainer! The mire is a high lvl venue for quickest lvl grinding but due to the amount of players levelling fodder there the items are worth a lot less than those in the ghostlight ruins and other high lvl venues. Fodder dragons can be obtained from breeding cheap fodder dragons or can be bought at ~7000 treasure on the Auction house. You can exalt them to your deity at lvl 6-7: lvl 6 is the most efficient profit-wise, but some level dragons to lvl 8 for more profit/dragon. This will give you treasure (see how much on the Flight rising Wiki)! This works best if you change the coliseum settings in the coliseum to correspond to the WASD(+QE) keys and keep the battlestone order similar for your fighter dragons: Over time coli can be more automated and you can then play coliseum while watching a series in the evening, or even while reading papers or a book on the side. (If you are reading papers I do recommend having multiple food stacks in your hoard already, as the focus will lead to many defeats in the coliseum and thus more need to feed your fighter!)
[emoji=gold crown size=1] If there is a dominance battle going on that week, (A good pinglist is the one linked here) you could check if they have an OOFR (out-of-flight-raffle) or a public buy: The flight will buy dragons from you then and especially outside of holidays they may pay more (treasure OR gems!) than the price you get for exalting dragons!
[emoji=dna size=1] I don't do this due to keeping a no-breeding-lair, but you could make a lot of profit with breeding too, but it requires consistent passive play (I have seen people keep spreadsheets for a very streamlined process or just wing it but idk how to actually put it into practice) and you'll also have to come up with a fun/unique/desirable hatchery theme:

If you have an open nest in your nesting grounds, get a pair of breedable dragons from the auction house (check their compatibility here) and breed them. You do have to check in 1x each day to incubate the nest!
6 days later you can sell their hatchlings 5kt a piece, or train and exalt hatchlings for more profit.
If you do this a few weeks, you can expand your nesting grounds and dragon lair a bit with the money and then rotate breeding pairs.
When you have enough funds after a few months, you could get prettier and unique breeding pairs that you can write lore for (making your dragon lineage interesting and compatible with certain clan aesthetics that are popular) and set up a hatchery where you could sell your hatchlings for more treasure or gems.

[emoji=familiar heart size=1] Familiar bonding nets you 15-50 treasure per familiar (I think, not 100% sure on that) and bonding for 3 months or so on certain familiars might get you small rewards. One familiar isn't too profitable, but if you bond hundreds consistently, the amount stacks up! Familiars can be obtained through the coliseum, gathering, achievement chops and the giveaway forums, and for rare ones you might browse the auction house.
[emoji=net size=1] Gathering could also be profitable, but I'm not too clear on how since I mostly just let it all sit in my hoard XD Some rare/swpp/baldwin items from gathering can be sold for a neat amount! Tbh, not 100% clear on which ones, but the most rare items or items needed for desirable genes and swipp are most profitable! Hey there @AquiIIa!

Wishing you a warm welcome to Flight Rising!

Oh, understandable: the forums can seem very intimidating at first! Oh wow, you?e doing very well then! Most of the advice I included is prly redundant :P

Not sure what to tell you abt me but I am a 25 y/o working student who likes drawing, reading, writing, cooking and baking. Irl is very hectic rn but you can ping me on the forums or dm me if you have questions, I speak 3 languages and will onswer sometime soon-ish-prly, promise :P
My lair lore is that of a rediscovered ancient library, which happens to be an outlaw hub due to the unplottable nature of islets on the edge of the hoverview vale. Mostly hang out in the coliseum and on the creative corner/ dragonshare forums in this game (am addicted, haha), but besides that I am not often online.

Anyways, obsessing over pixeldragons is a mood XD

*slides in to deposit a good guide to some of the basics*
This guide is way more comprehensive than what I post below here, but do feel free to ping me when you have questions.

NotN
Night of the Nocturne is the biggest event of the year and is currently in progress!

During NotN, most people actively gather/do daily tasks on FR/gind the coliseum for Strange Chest, which may drop Unhatched Nocturne Egg.
Eggs can be sold for a high price and therefore, chests go for a good price too. (Because it is hard to get good hatches from an egg (and because these hatchlings are G1 all basic genes nocturnes), I would recommend selling the egg and buying these g1s on the auction house.)
To battle in the coliseum, you need 2 dragons who pack a punch. (Edit: often 1 dragon suffices, but using 2 speeds up the battles.) A guide to levelling is included a few sections below.

Guides for NotN:
> Prepare & Survive NoTN V1.0
> NotN Chest Trade Grinding Locations 2022

Oh, also: this NotN I am offering:

Free levelling help for coliseum newbies
I could help if you train 2 dragons to ~lvl7, but only if you have 2 non-progenitor (progenitor are the 2 dragons you get for free when you start the game & cannot be traded.) adults that you have not yet given battle stats and stones.

Send me the dragons through a 1-way crossroads and ping me on this topic with a reminder that you did so (using: @Islet).
After I respond here, I will accept the crossroads and get your dragons send back trained within an hour. If I don respond quickly, I am prly asleep. XD

Do:
  • There are some dailies to be gotten from this website!

At "gather items" and "trading post" you can get some free stuff each day and in the "fairgrounds" you can play minigames to make a maximum of 75.000 treasure each day.

If you feed dragons daily, you get more gathering turns!

You can ask on your own flight's forum topic for dragon-lending services, so people can lend you a higher lvl dragon and so you can use that one in a team to grind levels on your progens or your own dragons.

Don't:
  • Personally I do not breed my progens because I don't like the look of a (messy) offspring list.

If you do breed your progens or dear dragons, please name the offspring something you can look at in the future and not be annoyed. Some people use song lyrics or quotes or themes to name the offspring, which can be really cool!
  • Don't buy everything you want from the marketplace: look at the auction house for possible cheaper options!

Tbh, some items are more expensive on the auction house, so do compare some of the prices :P
  • Don't sell hatchlings for less than 4g (you can get max 5g for a baby fodder) and don't sell adult dragons for less than 5g (you can get max 7g for an adult fodder).

The fastest way to get treasure is actually by playing glimmer & gloom on the hard mode on the fairground games, but fairground profit is limited to 75. 000 treasure max each day.

It definitely stacks up though, so if you have the energy I'd recommend learning how to through the guide linked above and playing some hard more fairground each day ^^

Hi @Islet, I'm blown away by your super helpful and kind message - thank you so much! I'll have to sit down on a quiet day to go through all those resources - there's a lot of really good stuff there!

I'm 26 and a student as well (currently in the last few months of my BA so it's crazy busy for me too haha). Your lore sounds intriguing, I'll have a little read through it later :3 I haven't got any lore ideas for my dragons yet so maybe this can kickstart my imagination. Thanks again for the warm welcome <3

@AquiIIa

Np, am very glad that the resources are helpful!

Because it is currently NotN, I would recommend you to get and open as many strange chests as possible. Strange Chests will expire on Sunday, so open those, but DO NOT open the eggs: sell them or save them for later to sell: they are worth a lot!

Besides, hope you have a lovely graduation! 100% understand that you are busy, oof. Hope you take some time for yourself too ^^

Also... Honestly, I only have 1 dragon who has entirely finished lore, whoops. My own lore is a mess work in progress and I am more of a g1 lair (focus on customization appearance wise/focus on collecting pretty projects) and less of a lore lair (focus on worldbuilding), so I would recommend checking out lore clans (such as Storia´s clan) for inspiration instead!

Hi Aquilla! I understand how the forums can be intimidating but I've been a part of the site since 2015 and can tell you with absolute certainty this is one of the nicest places on the internet you could possibly be. Everyone is so incredibly friendly, sweet and accepting. Islet pretty much covered the introductory stuff hahaha but feel free to send me a message if you ever need anything or have any questions!

I'm in my early 20s and am a student as well getting my bachelors in biology, I like video games and drawing too and am an animal lover with a bunch of pets including a horse, two cats and a snake. I love to read in my limited free time and really enjoy writing and coding pretty bios and stuff here as well, if any of that interests you or if we have things in common you'd like to talk about I'm suuuper chatty and friendly hahaha, feel free to message me anytime :) Welcome to the site and good luck! <3

Hello there! I’m a relatively new player, but I’d like to think that I’m a half-decent one. I’m also really into video games (TotK and Hollow Knight for the win!) but I like to write short stories as well. I’ve posted a couple on the Creative Corner forums. I’m willing to be your friend if you like!

Much love and happy wishes,
Anthorn

I’m also really into video games (TotK and Hollow Knight for the win!) but I like to write short stories as well. I’ve posted a couple on the Creative Corner forums. I’m willing to be your friend if you like!

Much love and happy wishes,
Anthorn
Hiii! Thank you for your kind reply <3 I'm really chatty too, so I'd love to take you up on that offer! You said you like drawing - do you have an art thread somewhere by chance? :3 what do you like to draw and read? We can also continue talking via pm if you prefer! Thanks again, have a nice day!

One of my favourite games to play recently, I just love exploring endlessly :) Thanks for reaching out!

I don’t have an art thread, unfortunately - I’m often too busy to finish anything sadly haha. I think a couple of my dragons might have drawings I’ve done though, Aromis is the most recent I believe! I’m not great but it’s super cathartic, it’s nice to sit and listen to music or an audiobook and just doodle. I would also love to see some of your art and hear about what you like to draw! Fantasy and fiction are my favorite genres, lately I’ve been rereading a lot of Rick Riordan’s work as it was a huge part of my childhood and the Percy Jackson tv show just aired. I also am finishing the series A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder right now and I loved it until a plot twist at the end where it turns a little silly and unrealistic so I’m having a hard time finishing it XD

We can absolutely continue talking over PM if you like, definitely might be a good idea so I don’t clog up your thread here haha. I hope you have a nice day too! <3
