Under strict orders from his clan's doctor, he had been given a strict limit on what he could order. They were nearly at their wit's end treating Cherry's constant cases of indigestion due to being a bit too adventurous with what he could eat and had strong-armed Venusaur into confiscating most of his money during the trip. Honestly, do they really trust him that little? He'll just have to be sure to buy the best sweets available. Cherry soon spotted the most promising stall: a dessert stand meant for larger dragons. The cookies were bigger than him! Buying one big treat would allow him to stretch his budget even more than he would've hoped! He flew up to the stall owner and pointed at an interesting looking cookie filled with some kind of meat and covered in syrup. "I'll take that cookie please! My friend, who is a Guardian, sadly couldn't make it and would be so devastated to not get anything from the festival and it would be so cruel of me to eat something meant for him and-" Cherry was cut off from his ramblings when the cookie was shoved into his arms. He quickly paid and flew away with his prize. And without the shopkeeper suspecting anything! In his haste to get away, he neglected to see the shopkeeper sigh with annoyance. @Sargelily

The fae at the stand blushed, but kept his face monotone. At the very least, only faes could see his embarrassment. He shook his head, trying to reset his frills. Guardians have the loudest voices, of course he could hear the rest of the conversation! Ugh, time to move on to the next order. If only his love life was any quicker.

(Your points have been recorded!)

@Yessaia

The guardian manning the stall unceremoniously took the coatl's treasure and gave her a blazed salmon. Same as it ever was with this kind of shift. However, when he spied her coming back a second, and then a third time, he had to laugh and give her the better catches of the day, with a little bit of extra honey. Anyone coming back that many times deserves it!

(Your points have been recorded!)

@MegaVenusaur

The obelisk at the stand sighed. He was warned of this particular fae from Valrhona. If you weren't careful, this one would eat you out of your home, if your home was made out of sweets. Well, treasure is treasure. He passed the cookie onto Cherry, ignoring the look of victory in his eyes. The obelisk didn't know how Cherry did it. If Cherry somehow managed to eat a cookie literally as big as him with meat inside of it, there had to be some kind of personal victory with it.

It was the temptation of meat that made him a babysitter.

Divine wasn't a fan of hatchlings. They were messy and loud, and so very small. And Enteral hatchlings, with their mix of wisdom and mischief, were even higher on his list of dragons to avoid.

But life wasn't a thing you could control and the lair he'd recently join had a plethora of the smart little permeant scamps. So while avoiding was out of the question respect was a big ideal in this new clan thus those tiny ones left him alone for the most part.

That was until Lee, the tiny little chief and foodie of the clan, found out that he was planning to visit the food stalls of the Conflagrant Carnival.

"I'm coming with you!" The tiny orange spiral swirled in front of one pastel green eye!

"umm. no."

The spiral almost tied itself into a knot in annoyance, before his glowing eyes brightened in a blinding flash. "Wanna bet?" Lee smirked before swirling away.

A while later the clan fonder and leader Torquil fluttered over. "Divine." He sighed. "Do you know how much trouble you're causing me? Take my advice, given in, take Lee to get a snack, before Alora or Pandemic get involved."

The little spiral head popped up around the Fae's shoulders.

Divine glared. "What if I lose him? He's tiny?"

Torquil almost smiled. "Yes. That's why he'll sit on your nose, A little orange spot that you can always see if you cross your eyes. But can ignore but would notice if it was gone."

He walked another three steps before opening the bag of insects. They certainly were crispy. The charred crickets crumbled to ash in his mouth after one quick snap. It was definitely a new feeling. Squid wasn't sure what to make of it. His tongue was covered with fine, gritty flakes by the time the paper bag was empty. He tossed it into a nearby spurt of flame. Where in the world was he supposed to meet up with this "ally?" And why in the middle of a carnival? This was poor planning on someone's part. He grumbled to himself and tried to rub the remaining ash off his tongue with his teeth.

Bright lights illuminated the night sky, and the sound of merriment filled the air. Crowds of various types of dragons were enjoying the games, attractions, and most of all, the food. Alaina, having traveled a long distance from her clan home, was feeling a bit peckish after such a long flight. She decided that she would start the night by getting some food before venturing further into the carnival. It appeared that a wide variety of food options was available. Stalls nearby were selling deep-fried grasshoppers, goat legs on a stick, swordfish sandwiches, and even one stall seemingly offering orange-colored apples. Though Alaina usually favored seafood, she couldn't resist the temptation of the peculiar orange apples. "What an oddity," she thought as she headed toward the apple stall, intentionally avoiding the deep-fried grasshopper stall due to her aversion to certain insects. Upon reaching the apple stall, she ordered some orange apples. The vendor at the stall was more than happy to provide them after exchanging some coins. Alaina savored the sweet, almost citrusy taste of the apples as she listened attentively to the vendor's explanation of how he managed to cultivate such a unique apple variety. Once she finished her apples, she thanked the friendly dragon vendor and proceeded to explore the rest of the carnival. bonus screenshot:

On her way to a particularly meat-laden stall, she is stopped by a salesman harking foods of all types. "Hello there young lady, yes you in the goggles! Come try something you've never had before, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity!" The table before her is overflowing with all types of bugs, seafood, meats, and plants; most of which she's definitely never encountered before. While she was initially looking for some hearty meats, Polyantha is the curious sort and she's always willing to try something new at least twice. "Could I try one of your seafood dishes? It's not my usual fare but I know plenty of friends back home that swear by it, and I think it's time I see what all the hype is about!" The salesman gives a bit of a nod before perusing their wares, as if searching for the one particular morsel that will best suit the particular dragon before them. With an "Aha!" and a flourish the saleman picks out what looks like a giant deep-fried lobster. "This here is a deep-fried giant isopod! Most people don't prepare them this way, but that's what makes my stall special! It's a little similar to the bugs you might be used to, so it should be a good introduction to the wonderful world of seafood." Polyantha accepts the giant isopod with both hands and just marvels at it for a moment. Then, with a big breath, she takes a huge bite out of the non-shelly part. It's a lot less crunchy than her usual bug snacks, though the fried breading does add a little of that crunchiness back. The flavor is something that's very unlike the meats and bugs she's used to, much milder in flavor underneath all the spices and whatnot that make up the breaded crust. She chews for a bit more before swallowing. "This is quite good! Thank you for the recommendation!" she says as she drops some treasure into the saleman's pouch. The salesman smiles and nods at her, like they knew all along how she would react.
