Almond was born out of the petals of a single flower growing isolated on the Windswept Plateau. No one knows why or how this happened, just that it did; and it resulted in a very strange little fae saturated in mysterious but powerful magics. Not having lived before, or experienced a normal dragon's life, Almond was not aware of his utter peculiarity and instead carried on with his first day of life, making flowers spring up around him and die spontaneously while he jumped at beetles and pounced on stray petals. He curled up to sleep for his first night under a flowering hawthorn tree and--when he woke up in the morning--it was to a great Guardian curled around him instead.

Today, Almond serves as the literal beating heart of the Garden, as the magic that constantly leaks from him has permanently changed both the land and the dragons that live here.
