-sense. So basically I woke up this morning and then, while still half asleep, realized "GOLDEN TORTOISE BEETLES!" They're these super cool, super pretty beetles that have a layer of fluid-filled cells inside their clear elytra. I'm getting conflicting answers on how exactly they do it, but using these cells, they can actually change their color from gold to red when stressed! [img]https://www.whatsthatbug.com/images/gbx4sm.jpg[/img] Anyway, while I've always thought Capsule has very nice gradients, the way it... completely disregards anatomy always pushed me away from it. But now, my headcanon is that dragons have a thin layer of clear underbelly scales, and under that is another thin layer that contains fluid-filled cells of various colors. Maybe some dragons can even make it change color, like these beetles. Now a dragon's whole belly can have those pretty colors, AND they even have room for internal organs! You can also see through Slime/Sludge on some parts of a dragon's body. Look at this Aberration's tail. Slime/Sludge dragons are just walking sludge, Ground/Fissure dragons are walking rocks, and capsule dragons are just walking water balloons.
