It takes multiple leveling situations into consideration, including with and without Eliminate, having a mage on the team, and even leveling with just two dragons. I hope this guide helps you! THE (UPDATED) DRAGON LEVELING GUIDE
Years ago (5 years ago, to be exact), I asked Culex if I could write an updated version of their leveling guide. They said yes! This guide pulls heavily from theirs (linked at the top of the third post), so if you want to cross reference between the two, feel free!

It’s been a long journey, full of real life events, but I believe I have finally come up with a leveling guide that anyone can follow! It takes multiple leveling situations into consideration, including with and without Eliminate, having a mage on the team, and even leveling with just two dragons.

I hope this guide helps you! It’s been a labor of love, and I’m so happy that it’s finally come to fruition.

Here is the breakdown of the abbreviations for the guide:
Culex Grinders (referred to as “CG” in the guide): All 3 dragons will be fighters, and have Eliminate
Sedonas (referred to as “S” in the guide): 1 dragon will be a mage, and the other two will be fighters, and NOT have Eliminate
Training Pair (referred to as “TP” in the guide. Yes, you can laugh): 1 dragon will be a mage, and 1 dragon will be a fighter, and have Eliminate
Sedona Pair (referred to as “SP” in the guide): 1 dragon will be a mage, and 1 dragon will be a fighter, and NOT have Eliminate
Alternate team: 1 mage and 2 fighter dragons with Eliminate. Follow the Culex Grinders (2 fighters receiving Eliminate at level 7) and mage directions (mage in the first slot, receiving INT instead of STR, etc) to stat and stone these guys. I will not be referring to them specifically, but they are a good team to have in the beginning as well!

Honestly, despite the abbreviations, the process of leveling them is essentially the same. Whenever something build specific pops up, I will make a note in that venue so you can know!

BEFORE YOU START
Make sure your dragons have the right starting battlestones. This will vary depending on the team you are using.

Culex Grinders: Make sure all 3 dragons have Scratch and Shred
Sedonas: Make sure your mage has Meditate and Contuse, and that the other two have Scratch and Shred.
Training Pair & Sedona Pair: Make sure your mage has Meditate and Contuse, and that the fighter has Scratch and Shred.

If you are using a mage in your team, place them in the first (far left) slot. Remember: INT is for MAGES ONLY! :) If you can, try to reserve breath on your mage, so they can heal your team if needed.

Tincture or no tincture? If you can afford it, I recommend tincturing your dragons before you start. If not, don’t worry, you can get through this without it! It may be a bit harder to get through some levels if you’re using certain breeds, but it’s not necessary, especially if you have Eliminate.

ASSIGNING STATS: SHORT VERSION

This chart does NOT assume your dragons are tinctured, allowing you to follow it regardless of where your dragons are at. The range of stats at certain levels show the variance of stats that different breeds can have.
 • The “+” symbol in the “STR or INT” section means that you should assign whatever points are left to this stat, and that you should have AT LEAST that many points at that level.
 • The “Fragments” are elemental fragments, of either the Might or Acuity variety, depending on if you are statting a fighter (Might) or a mage (Acuity).
 • While the long version of the guide has specifics at certain levels (such as if you are leveling a Sedona and are stopping at 103 STR), this chart simply follows the details of Culex’s original guide for simplicity.

This venue is relatively easy, even for level 1 dragons. Once you hit level 3, you’ll absolutely dominate this venue! Feel free to spend most of your time here pursuing a simple coliseum challenge, like the Long Drop Challenge. It’ll help you afford some of your battlestones later on, as you’ll be grinding up food and items in the process. Level 2: Get your fighters to 10 STR and 10 QCK, and if you are using a mage, get them to 10 INT and 10 QCK. ***From now on, I will say “put points in STR or INT”, with INT being used for mages only. If you aren’t using a mage, don’t worry about putting points there!*** Level 3: Get your STR on your fighters as high as you can make it. If you are using a mage, do the same to their INT. This will be between 16-21 for both STR and INT. The highest number is only achievable if you tincture your dragon. Equip Sap onto your fighter(s), and Aid onto your mage. These two stones can be found in the Treasure Marketplace or the Auction House for only a few thousand treasure. From now on, your mage can heal your team, making survival a bit easier. Level 4: Get your STR and INT (if using a mage) to 20 if it’s not there yet, then get your QCK to 15, or as close to 15 as you can manage. Dump everything else into STR or INT if you have any left over. Level 5: Apply an elemental Might (for fighters) or Acuity (for mages) fragment onto each of your dragons. If their QCK wasn’t at 15, get it to 15. Dump everything else into STR or INT, for a total of 27-30 STR or INT. Team specific info: TP & SP teams: Since these are two dragon pairs, I recommend leveling fodder alongside them. This helps decrease the chances of them getting hit, and increases survival. However, in the beginning levels, it’s not as important. I do recommend adding a third dragon once you get to Woodland Path, however, especially if you’re training a Sedona Pair.
[br] WOODLAND PATH
NOTE: May have gotten harder, but I will need to check the enemy stats when I get the chance. If you decided that working towards level 5 in Training Fields was taking too long and decided to jump ahead around level 4, then good luck! If you’re going to be adding Eliminate to 1 or more dragons, you won’t be able to until you’ve been in Woodland Path for a bit (Level 7). I hope you have a mage and three dragons in total (fodder counts) in the team, cause you’ll need it in this venue! If you don’t have a mage, make sure you have Sap equipped to all fighters, and use it as much as you need to. Potions of all kinds will also be your best friend until you get to level 15 or so, where you will have two Ambushes on each dragon and plenty of attitude. Level 4: Get your STR or INT to 20 if it’s not there yet, then get your QCK to 15, or as close to 15 as you can manage. Level 6: Get the QCK of all dragons to 20, and push your STR or INT as high as you can. This will be between 29 and 32 for either stat. Level 7: This is the fun level! If you can afford it, equip Eliminate to any dragons whom you’ve decided to add it to. Then, add a second Might/Acuity fragment onto your dragons. If you are not using Eliminate, or can’t afford it yet, you can just focus on adding a second elemental Might/Acuity fragment to your dragons. Get your STR or INT as high as you can push it. You should have 20 QCK and between 37-40 STR or INT per dragon. OPTIONAL: If you can afford it, equip Clobber onto your fighters (if they don’t have Eliminate) by overwriting Shred. Clobber takes 35 breath to use, and it isn't replenished with each use, but it's SUPER useful in delaying getting damaged, especially in Scorched Forest. Also, at this point, I recommend Tincturing your dragons. You don’t have to, of course!
[br] SCORCHED FOREST
This venue is why I recommend borrowing a level 25 from someone and leveling your team to level 12 or higher, especially if you don’t have Eliminate on any dragons yet. It’s SO HARD! But, if you have a mage, it shouldn’t be too hard. If you have Clobber on your fighters, feel free to use it to delay getting hurt in this venue. Time it well; the effect doesn’t stack, and it costs a lot of breath to use that you won’t get back! If you’re using Eliminate, try to start on a pack of Meditate users, like Centaur Archers, Wintermane Bowman, or Crowned Bonepriests. You can also start on packs where there are two Death's-Head Stags, as they take a while to attack and don’t hit very hard. This will help you build up enough breath to use your Eliminates without getting to hurt! ***These enemies are tougher than the others and need an extra hit until you reach level 8: Wintermane Spearman; Painted Centaur; Augite Protector; Moss-Covered Golem; Centaur Archer; Wintermane Bowman. Level 8: Get your STR or INT to 43 and dump the rest into QCK. Level 9: Get your STR or INT to 47, and dump the rest into QCK. If you can afford it, place an Ambush on each dragon at this point. Try to max out Fairgrounds to afford them if you need to, because they will really help! Team specific info: TP & SP teams: These teams can essentially pay for their own stones as they go if you level fodder with them! It’ll take a while to level enough fodder to pay for the major ones like Eliminate, but for the Might/Acuity fragments in the beginning, these dragons can pay for themselves easily, depending on their element (some are more expensive than others). Make sure to heal the fodder you’re bringing along with you by using the mage. That way they’ll live longer.
[br] SANDSWEPT DELTA
Hopefully you have three Ambushes by the time you reach this venue. You’ll find they’re really helpful in reducing the amount of damage you take! You’ll only be here for one or two levels, depending on whether you feel confident in taking on Blooming Grove.

CG: Three Ambushes and three Eliminates will keep you from being hit nine times out of ten!
S: Three Ambushes, two Clobbers, and two Saps will help supplement the Aid stone your mage will have. Be sure to use Contuse on the tougher enemies if you can afford the breath.
TP & SP: Your mage is going to be pulling along the bulk of the work of keeping your team alive, especially since you can only have one Ambush on each dragon with these teams. Make sure you have fodder along the way to buffer the damage you’ll endure, and start on “easier” Meditate based packs, like the Serthis. Be conservative with your mage’s breath if you can, but definitely contuse Greatshells if you have the chance.
***These enemies are tougher than the others and need an extra hit until you reach the noted levels of STR or INT: Serthis Alchemist (48 STR or INT); Serthis Potionmaster, Gabboon Viperpillar & Tricolor Viperpillar (49 STR or INT for those three); Greatshell (53 STR or INT). Level 10: Get your STR or INT to 50, and your QCK to 25. If you have any points left over, dump them into your STR or INT. Level 11: Get your STR or INT as high as you can. OPTIONAL: Equip Rally onto your mage and use it to power up your fighter(s) to make the rest of your leveling a bit easier!
[br] BLOOMING GROVE
If you only have two dragons in your dedicated team (TP or SP), this venue can be a little bit difficult, especially the bosses. I recommend hanging back a level in Sandswept if you only have two dragons that you’re giving stats to. If it pleases you, you can give your fodder points in VIT to help them live longer and act as a buffer. For trio teams, this venue shouldn’t be too hard. The bosses use Meditate, so if you really wanna make them easy, give your dragons Reflect stones. It costs 40 breath to use, and it can only be cast on one dragon at a time (i.e. each dragon can only have ONE active Reflect spell that they have cast at a time). But it reflects ALL magical spells away from the dragon with Reflect on it, including Rally and Haste and healing spells, so be careful! It’s only worth having for the bosses here, and also makes the Kelp Beds bosses a breeze. You will be here until level 4 or 5, depending on how prepared you are to face the difficulty of Woodland Path.
CCb41Kg.png

Level 2: Get your fighters to 10 STR and 10 QCK, and if you are using a mage, get them to 10 INT and 10 QCK.

***From now on, I will say “put points in STR or INT”, with INT being used for mages only. If you aren’t using a mage, don’t worry about putting points there!***

Level 3: Get your STR on your fighters as high as you can make it.

Team specific info:
TP & SP teams: Since these are two dragon pairs, I recommend leveling fodder alongside them. This helps decrease the chances of them getting hit, and increases survival. However, in the beginning levels, it’s not as important. I do recommend adding a third dragon once you get to Woodland Path, however, especially if you’re training a Sedona Pair.

CCb41Kg.png

Level 4: Get your STR or INT to 20 if it’s not there yet, then get your QCK to 15, or as close to 15 as you can manage.

CCb41Kg.png

Level 8: Get your STR or INT to 43 and dump the rest into QCK.

Level 9: Get your STR or INT to 47, and dump the rest into QCK. If you can afford it, place an Ambush on each dragon at this point. Try to max out Fairgrounds to afford them if you need to, because they will really help!

Team specific info:
TP & SP teams: These teams can essentially pay for their own stones as they go if you level fodder with them!

Hopefully you have three Ambushes by the time you reach this venue. You’ll find they’re really helpful in reducing the amount of damage you take! You’ll only be here for one or two levels, depending on whether you feel confident in taking on Blooming Grove.

 • CG: Three Ambushes and three Eliminates will keep you from being hit nine times out of ten!
 • S: Three Ambushes, two Clobbers, and two Saps will help supplement the Aid stone your mage will have. Be sure to use Contuse on the tougher enemies if you can afford the breath.
 • TP & SP: Your mage is going to be pulling along the bulk of the work of keeping your team alive, especially since you can only have one Ambush on each dragon with these teams.

As usual, try to start out on packs where enemies have to meditate, like the Fauns, Dryads, Fungi, and Cerdae. Try to enter only after you have at least 50 STR or INT on your main team (not on fodder)!

Forgotten Cave is tough compared to here, so I recommend skipping it entirely and jumping to Bamboo Falls once you hit level 13.

From here on out, every venue has a small chance of dropping Eliminate. Good luck!

***These enemies are tougher than the others and need an extra hit until you reach the noted levels of STR or INT: Aspen Gall Dryad (51 STR or INT); Five-Toed Pilco, Venomtooth Pilco (52 STR or INT); Travelling Garden (55 STR or INT); Terra Tortoise (57 STR or INT).

Level 11: Push your STR or INT as high as you can. This should be about 56 or 57 STR or INT.

Level 12: Get your STR or INT to 60 and put everything else into QCK.

Level 13: Time to add another elemental Might or Acuity fragment! Once you do that, up your dragons’ QCK to 35 and put whatever is left over into STR or INT.

This venue is quite difficult. These bosses are pretty tough for the level if you only have two dragons in your dedicated team, same as for Blooming Grove. If you do come here, make sure to refresh before your dragons faint, otherwise you’ll lose 5 points of energy each time your team is wiped out. Even with a team of three dragons (1 mage and two Eliminate users), I had a hard time in this venue at level 12. You can always come back later, so I do recommend skipping it.

Level 14: Make sure your QCK is at 35, and dump everything else into STR or INT. Should be about 68 or 69 points of STR or INT.

Level 15: Get your STR or INT as high as you can, either 73 or 74. Then, add another Ambush to each dragon. If you are using CGs, you are almost immune to damage now! I recommend adding a Rally to your mage at this point, if you are using one. Use it to increase the damage your fighters can do. It’ll especially help against those tougher enemies that normally require an extra hit.

The bosses can be a huge pain if you don’t have enough Ambushes, or if you’re running a two dragon team with fodder on the side. The rest of the venue isn’t too bad, though, and it’ll be a nice place to level up for two levels in order to skip the Waterway, which is much worse.

Level 16: Get your STR or INT to 77 and get your QCK as high as you can. It should be 37-40 points of QCK now.

Level 17: Another fun level! From here on out, your stats will be easy to assign; get three Berserker stones on each of your fighters (say bye to the elemental might fragments!) and get three Scholar stones on your mage, if you have one. Bump your QCK to 50 (one little point!) and push your STR or INT as high as you can (either 89 or 90).

NOTE: If the Berserker stones are currently too rich for your blood (trust me, I understand!), then try grinding in Blooming Grove or Forgotten Cave. They’re easier venues, so you can get through enemies faster, and some can drop Berserker stones. Even if a few don’t drop, the familiars and other items you get in those venues can help pay for the stones if you list them on the Auction House. You can also sometimes get these from Pinkerton, so be sure to get your free daily item every day to have the chance!

But if you want to do something like the Long Drop Challenge in the Arena, you’ll be blessed with plenty of nice things to sell on the AH for a pretty penny.

Do you like making treasure? I do! Volcanic Vents is the second most profitable venue based on hoardsell value alone, and now that you can jive here, you have an easy venue to farm while watching TV or listening to podcasts.

I recommend using Reflect if you plan on farming the bosses here before you hit level 25.

Rainsong is a lovely and colorful place, and if you come in here at level 18 or 19, you won’t have any extra problems with the enemies. CCb41Kg.png

Level 20: All points go into STR or INT, giving you 104 or 105 points. For Sedonas, get your STR to 103 and STOP. Then, add the rest of the points into VIT, as high as you can get it.

Team specific info:
Sedonas of all kinds: This is where your STR stat stops. From now on, you will be adding points into VIT and QCK. This is where the “tank” part of “Sedona Tank” comes from: they can certainly take a hit! If you give Rally to your mage, they’ll be able to use less hits to take out enemies, but it’ll still be slower than using Eliminate. Never fear, the tanks can handle it regardless, and you can use them for grinding if you want to save up to convert them.

Storm Seekers are slow and weak, so feel free to use your abundance of turns to heal up/build breath and such if you need to.

Level 23:
For Elim Fighters: Add all your stats to STR, giving you 119 or 120 points.

Eliminate Fighters: Okay so, here’s the deal: the Mire is where you’re gonna finish your leveling if you follow this guide. As a result, you only need 119 STR to Scratch and Eliminate everything but the bosses in there. If you have a team of three dragons, and at least two of them have Eliminate, you can stop at 119 STR if you wish! Just be careful if using Rally; your mage is one level too short to give your fighters everything they need to one shot things in the Mire. Give them 120 STR if you want to proceed in the Mire while using Rally to one shot things. You will be just fine in Ghostlight Ruins either way.

For Elim Fighters: If you are going higher than 119 STR, then add all your stats to STR. You should have 124 or 125 points in STR now. Otherwise, dump everything into VIT.

Eliminate Fighters: There’s a lovely grinding build for Rainsong Jungle and below called the Redfoot Grinders. They have 122 STR and a lot of VIT and more QCK than Culex Grinders. They can Eliminate everything except bosses in Rainsong and below without needing Rally to do it, and they’re very efficient if you plan on occupying those levels for most of your grinding. If you want your Eliminate based fighters (at least 2 of them) to be Redfoot Grinders, stop their STR gain at 122 STR and dump everything into VIT at this level.

I recommend trying to build up as much breath as possible whenever possible by using Scratch/Meditate. Trust me, having a backlog is worth it here.

The bosses aren’t too terrible, but they have an uncanny ability to show up when you’re least prepared for them, so refresh if that happens or if they land more critical hits than you can heal from right away.

Good Ol' Grinding (In the Right Venue) The most important part of grinding for profit is to know which venue has the highest hoardsell value per hour/per battle that you're going to be grinding. You can find the latest information in Maki's guide linked here, but as of right now, I'll post which venues are best per hour and per battle. This only counts hoardsell value, not how much things would be on the AH. Always try to list as much as you can, such as food, apparel, familiars, hibden/swipp/baldwin items, and scrolls on the auction house for max profit! Best Venue Per Hour (133 or 129 STR team): Harpy's Roost, Volcanic Vents, Crystal Pools Best Venue Per Battle (Any team): Ghostlight Ruins, Volcanic Vents, Harpy's Roost

Tracking grinding per battle works best if you have a slower team, like Sedonas.
Tracking grinding per hour works best if you have a faster team, like a team of three 129 or 133 STR Eliminate wielding dragons.
You can also turn it into a business, while matching your rates to the section of venues that you offer grinding in. You should also take into account the amount of Swipp/Baldwin items one can get in the venue. For example, the beginning venues such as Training Fields tends to have a very low hoardsell value. But while Waterway is a beginning venue with a generally low hoardsell value, it has several high value items, like the [gamedb item=25773], which is used to swap for the high value modern gene [gamedb item=26606]. Many people have one broad rate for their grinding, and for good reason: most venues now have several high value items, such as apparel and bosses, and food can be sold on the AH for almost 10 times the profit (or more) if you take the time to list it, regardless of the venue you are in. For "major" drops, such as Unhatched Eggs, boss familiars, and [gamedb item=498], some people will give everything to the client, while others will keep those items and only give everything else. Be sure to do some research in what other people are doing, and decide how you want to run your business. Be upfront with your prices, grinding team, the drops you get, and whether it's priced by time or per battle, and you can have a business with many repeat customers. [br] 2. Leveling Fodder (Or Selling It!) In order to level fodder (dragons destined to be exalted in order to make you a profit), you need to have dragons to begin with. In order to get dragons, you can either breed them yourself (more details below), or buy them from others. To sell fodder, it's more cost effective to breed your own, but buying cheap hatchlings for around 4k-5k and selling them as adults for fodder floor price can also work. Dragons listed for treasure tend to sell faster than those listed for gems, so keep that in mind. You can also take advantage of dominance battles; the competing flights will often pay much more than the exalt payout, dragons tend to fly off the AH for much higher than the fodder floor! BREEDING FODDER When it comes to breeding fodder, it helps to have a set system in place so that you are always rotating through dragons, either every day, or every week. I prefer working through nests every week, since it takes 6 days for nests to clear out, and you will only have a maximum of 5 nests at a time. I simply find the scheduling to be easier for me to keep track of. Below, I will highlight my method for breeding my own exalt fodder every week. Notice how it takes quite a bit of upfront investment. We will discuss how to gain more treasure for that later. STEP 1: SPACE, SPACE, SPACE You will need all 5 nests, and PLENTY of lair and/or hibernal den space. The pairs are 30 dragons in total on their own, and they have the opportunity to give you a maximum of 25 hatchlings every week, so make sure you can handle at least that much, plus space for your permanent dragons. Having lair tabs is also important for organization, especially if you plan on leveling the dragons yourself. Some flights offer help for people looking to expand their lairs, and you can also complete some hibernal den tasks simply by grinding in each coliseum venue for a bit. Take advantage of both of these so you can have plenty of space! STEP 2: GET AND ORGANIZE YOUR PAIRS

You can buy dragons from other players either on the forums or on the AH in order to make your pairs. Try to buy them as cheap as possible to reduce your startup costs.
You need to make sure that you have 15 pairs, 5 pairs for each batch of nests that you will have.
Make sure that they are ALL Plentiful breeds (Fae, Guardian, Mirror, Tundra). Their cooldowns are the shortest of all the breeds, and this method relies on it.
Make sure that the males and females of each pair are different breeds (i.e. pairing a tundra with a fae) so that you have a maximum chance of 5 eggs per nest, and an average of 3 eggs per nest.
Place your fodder breeders next to each other in their own tab. Use a naming convention for ease of pairing, if you desire. I pair up dragons who's names start with the same letter (i.e. Angel and Adam, Donna and Daniel, etc.), so that I always nest the right pair at the right time.
I separate my pairs into 5 pairs per page within their own tab, so that I can easily see who has been breed, who is ready to breed, and who is up next.
I put the hatchlings into their own tab, so they don't clutter the breeder tab. I find that this also makes it easier to level them without mixing them up with their parents.
STEP 2: BREED THEM

With the 15 pair method, you will be nesting 5 pairs every week.
Incubate every nest, every day. Take care not to skip a day so you don't lose track.
When the nests hatch, you can either store the hatchlings in your hibden, or in your lair in their own tab.
If you are going to be leveling them yourself, I recommend placing them into your hibden until they grow up.
As you are going through the pairs, you'll notice that the hatchlings sometimes aren't growing up as fast as the adults are nesting. This is fine and normal. They will grow up soon afterwards.
As each set of pairs becomes ready to breed, continue rotating them out. You will find that even with many 1 egg nests, you will become buried in fodder.
STEP 3: LEVEL OR SELL

Now that you have your fodder, it's time to decide what to do with them.
Check out this thread for a chart of the exalt payouts. This may help in your decisions below.
If you are going to list them on the AH, you can either list them as hatchlings for adult fodder price and wait, or you can list them for hatchling prices, and wait. It's not as reliable or fast as fodder leveling is, but it's still something that can be done, especially if you turn it into a business and level dragons for other people. Leveling a dragon to 25 efficiently takes a few things: time, the right dragons, the right battlestones (namely Eliminate, Berserker and Ambush), and the right venues. It can take a minimum of 4 hours and maximum of 9 hours for Harpy's Roost and above. If you want to truly be speedy, you'll have two Kelp Beds trainers training one dragon at a time. It minimizes resets (there have been times where I've not reset in the entire time I was leveling a dragon to 25 with this set up), and provides more EXP per battle than the Mire. If you want to level two dragons at a time to 25, then the Mire and Ghostlight Ruins will provide roughly the same amount of EXP gain as each other. So, you can choose whichever you prefer. Keep in mind, though, that you may have to refresh quite a bit depending on how RNG feels about loading you up with bosses and unfortunate dodges.
Keybindings active
11 other dragons, with 1 of them being a popular breed, having popular colors, and popular/the latest genes
Time and patience, as well as snacks, water, and music, a show, or a podcast
Instructions:

Place your trainer in the first slot, and have your Rally stone in the first slot so that you can use it when you press "A" on your keybindings. This is important for speed. When you are able to use Eliminate, you'll be able to mash the A key to Rally your dragon without accidentally rallying any other dragon. This helps with leveling speed.
Place the dragon that's going to be level 25 in the second slot, and the fodder in the third slot.
Level your dragons until they reach level 10. Swap out the fodder that's in the 3rd slot with a fresh one. For the dragon that you are leveling to 25, assign points into VIT.
Rinse and repeat until all the fodder are level 10 and that dragon is level 25. Exalt fodder and sell the level 25 for 180g-200g.
Explanation (Why This Works):

The amount of experience required to get to 25 is roughly the same as leveling 10 dragons to level 10. So 11 dragons (at 15k exalt reward) can make you approximately 350k if you sell the level 25 at 200k. You can actually make more if you level dragons to level 7 during the process, but that'll take about 67 dragons. If you can get your hands on that much fodder, feel free to do it. 67 x 11k (average level 7 exalt reward) = 737ktr
You can also sort and sell your coliseum drops to increase your profits. For me, in Kelp Beds, I made almost 300k from drops alone (when utilizing the AH) when leveling a dragon from 20-25, which is half of the journey to 25. Your mileage may vary, but it is something to consider. Team of THREE fighters with Eliminate:
Redfoot Grinders: 122 STR, 58 QCK, everything else into VIT (30 for a tinctured dragon)
Culex Grinders (“Glass Cannons”): 129 STR, 50 QCK, everything else into VIT (13 for a tinctured dragon)
Maki Grinders (“Shattered Cannons”): 133 STR, 40 QCK, 6 VIT. Can use two of these plus a mage to farm Golem Workshop and Forbidden Portal.

Team of TWO fighters with Eliminate:
Redfoot Grinders: 122 STR, 58 QCK, everything else into VIT (30 for a tinctured dragon)
Kelp Beds Levelers: 126 STR, 58-59 QCK, everything else into VIT (11 VIT for a tinctured dragon if 58 QCK. 6 VIT if 59 QCK). Give Reflect to each trainer. Element doesn’t usually matter as long as you take out the enemies you are weakest to, and use Reflect with bosses.

ONE dragon that is Nature (BEST), Water, Fire, or Plague:
Ghostlight Trainer:
The stats I use are 115 STR, 70 QCK, 30 VIT, everything else into AGI. You can either use Scratch, Anticipate, or Meditate as your breath building method. Guides for each are linked.

ONE dragon that is Arcane (BEST) or Earth:
Mire Flyer:
120 STR (for the Mire update circa October 2021), 62-70 QCK, 16-33 VIT. The ranges are determined by which form of Mire Flyer you choose to use. If Scratching to build breath, I recommend 70 QCK. If using Anticipate to build breath, I recommend 64 QCK and higher VIT. You can also use Meditate to build breath, with more VIT as well. Be sure to use Haste if you have lower QCK. Feel free to choose whichever combo works for you!

ONE dragon that is Wind (BEST), Shadow, Fire, Nature, or Plague:
Sylvandyr Solo Harpy:
I recommend using Meditate with this build, like the Roost Rustler uses, but you can use Scratch as well. The stats I use are: 108 STR, 74 QCK, 40 VIT, 14 DEF.

Sedonas (NO ELIMINATE): Tincture and get their stats to 103 STR, 80 QCK, 35 VIT and 25 DEF

Mages (NO ELIMINATE): Feel free to experiment with whatever works for you. For me, if I am using the mage mainly as a support in a venue like the Mire or lower, I prefer to only have one Ambush on them. In Golem Workshop and Forbidden Portal, however, they definitely need two Ambushes, and a lot of speed and health to best support the fighters.

Making Money Using The Coliseum
VLeaTn8.png
YrFhM5E.png CCb41Kg.png YrFhM5E.png

So, you want to make money using the coliseum, eh? Well, luckily for you, there's more to it than punching monsters in the face and gathering loot. Sure, that's the good old standard, but it's not the only way! Below, I'm going to list several ways you can make money using the coliseum, including a few that use outside sources of income to either get you started, or help you maintain momentum.

1. Good Ol' Grinding (In the Right Venue)

The most important part of grinding for profit is to know which venue has the highest hoardsell value per hour/per battle that you're going to be grinding.

Best Venue Per Hour (133 or 129 STR team): Harpy's Roost, Volcanic Vents, Crystal Pools
Best Venue Per Battle (Any team): Ghostlight Ruins, Volcanic Vents, Harpy's Roost

 • Tracking grinding per battle works best if you have a slower team, like Sedonas.
 • Tracking grinding per hour works best if you have a faster team, like a team of three 129 or 133 STR Eliminate wielding dragons.

You can also turn it into a business, while matching your rates to the section of venues that you offer grinding in. You should also take into account the amount of Swipp/Baldwin items one can get in the venue.

For example, the beginning venues such as Training Fields tends to have a very low hoardsell value. But while Waterway is a beginning venue with a generally low hoardsell value, it has several high value items, like the Fanned Cockroach, which is used to swap for the high value modern gene Tertiary Gene: Firefly.

Many people have one broad rate for their grinding, and for good reason: most venues now have several high value items, such as apparel and bosses, and food can be sold on the AH for almost 10 times the profit (or more) if you take the time to list it, regardless of the venue you are in. For "major" drops, such as Unhatched Eggs, boss familiars, and Eliminate, some people will give everything to the client, while others will keep those items and only give everything else.

Be sure to do some research in what other people are doing, and decide how you want to run your business. Be upfront with your prices, grinding team, the drops you get, and whether it's priced by time or per battle, and you can have a business with many repeat customers.

2. Leveling Fodder (Or Selling It!)

In order to level fodder (dragons destined to be exalted in order to make you a profit), you need to have dragons to begin with.

BREEDING FODDER
When it comes to breeding fodder, it helps to have a set system in place so that you are always rotating through dragons, either every day, or every week.

STEP 1: SPACE, SPACE, SPACE
You will need all 5 nests, and PLENTY of lair and/or hibernal den space.

 • You can buy dragons from other players either on the forums or on the AH in order to make your pairs. Try to buy them as cheap as possible to reduce your startup costs.
 • You need to make sure that you have 15 pairs, 5 pairs for each batch of nests that you will have.
 • Make sure that they are ALL Plentiful breeds (Fae, Guardian, Mirror, Tundra). Their cooldowns are the shortest of all the breeds, and this method relies on it.
 • Make sure that the males and females of each pair are different breeds (i.e. pairing a tundra with a fae) so that you have a maximum chance of 5 eggs per nest, and an average of 3 eggs per nest.
 • Place your fodder breeders next to each other in their own tab. Use a naming convention for ease of pairing, if you desire. I pair up dragons who's names start with the same letter (i.e. Angel and Adam, Donna and Daniel, etc.), so that I always nest the right pair at the right time.
 • I separate my pairs into 5 pairs per page within their own tab, so that I can easily see who has been breed, who is ready to breed, and who is up next.
 • I put the hatchlings into their own tab, so they don't clutter the breeder tab. I find that this also makes it easier to level them without mixing them up with their parents.

STEP 2: BREED THEM
 • With the 15 pair method, you will be nesting 5 pairs every week.
 • Incubate every nest, every day. Take care not to skip a day so you don't lose track.
 • When the nests hatch, you can either store the hatchlings in your hibden, or in your lair in their own tab.
 • If you are going to be leveling them yourself, I recommend placing them into your hibden until they grow up.
 • As you are going through the pairs, you'll notice that the hatchlings sometimes aren't growing up as fast as the adults are nesting. This is fine and normal. They will grow up soon afterwards.
 • As each set of pairs becomes ready to breed, continue rotating them out. You will find that even with many 1 egg nests, you will become buried in fodder.

STEP 3: LEVEL OR SELL
 • Now that you have your fodder, it's time to decide what to do with them.
 • Check out this thread for a chart of the exalt payouts. This may help in your decisions below.
 • If you are going to list them on the AH, you can either list them as hatchlings for adult fodder price and wait, or you can list them for hatchling prices, and wait. If you would rather they grow up to list them, the hibden is useful here.
 • If you are going to level them yourself, you will need to wait until they are adults. Once they are adults, name them and train them up with whichever trainer you choose in the level 20-25 venue of your choosing.
 • If you have a lot of dragons and want to get them out as soon as possible, or if you have a trainer dragon for Boreal Woods through Harpy's Roost (venues that give less EXP per battle), any level above level 4 is a great choice, since you would be making pure profit.
 • If you have a trainer dragon that is suited for Ghostlight Ruins or the Mire, you can afford to go a bit higher. I recommend finding out what your best level per time is, as can be discovered in this thread here. I go up to level 6 or 7, but I recommend stopping at level 10, regardless of your time, simply due to how long it takes to go any further.

MAKING MONEY TO MAKE MONEY
Regardless of how you do fodder leveling and exalting, it helps to have some money in order to start. The simple fact is, the more you invest, the more you get out of it. More dragons equal more profit.

By far, the best way to make money without totally relying on the coliseum is to max out the Fairgrounds. This will give you a base of 75k treasure to work with. By learning how to best multiply your money, you can turn 75k a day into whatever amount you want.

This guide shows the best ways to max out the Fairgrounds in the shortest amount of time. There are also other guides to solve Glimmer and Gloom (the most time effective game) in the Guides forum. Try to find the method that works for you.

Once you have your Fairgrounds earnings in hand, you can now do whatever you want with it! But wait, the whole point of this is to multiply your money, right? Well, here are some tips based on this guide:
 • Use the money to buy cheap hatchlings to resell as adults, or level and exalt the following week.
 • Use the money to invest in your future fodder farm. Once the farm is set up, you don't need to do anything else to it!
 • Pay someone to grind in the Coliseum for you (I recommend Volcanic Vents), and try to get someone who will give you ALL of the drops. Sell the food and other drops of value on the AH or in the forums. Rinse and repeat.
 • Take some of the less valuable drops (the ones not used for Swipp/Baldwin/Hibden) and melt them down into materials in Baldwin's cauldron. You can now either sell those or use them to make other things for profit.
 • If you're still leveling dragons in the coliseum to create your own team, you can use the money to invest in them; buy tinctures, fragments, or other battlestones in order to make life easier as you work your way up!

3. Leveling Battlers to 25

You can make money by leveling dragons to 25 and selling them to other players.

If you decide to level dragons for other people, this Google Sheet by Soii has information on how much EXP it takes to get to each level. You can enter your desired price to see how much treasure it will cost to level a dragon from point A to point B, allowing you to come up with your own prices in your shop. Be sure to make a copy of the sheet for your own use!

Whichever method you choose, I recommend selling blank slate level 25s for around 200g at a minimum. For leveling services, I recommend charging at least 250g for leveling dragons from 1-25. You may use your desired gem to treasure conversion for the treasure prices, but gems are a solid currency to get out of leveling dragons to 25.

You can also utilize your drops as an additional source of income when leveling dragons to 25, so that is something to consider. See the below section (the "Explanation" portion) for more information.

4. Leveling Both at the Same Time (Let me explain!)

If you want to make money with leveling dragons to 25, but don't want to level for others and also want to level fodder at the same time, I have a method that I use. (From a post I sent to someone on the forums.)

You'll need:
 • A dragon that can level 2 other dragons at once effectively (either in Harpy's Roost, Ghostlight Ruins, or the Mire). Make sure they have: Rally, Eliminate, 3 Berserkers, 2 Ambushes, and the right stats for the venue you are in. Scratch, Meditate, or Anticipate depend on preference and build.
 • Keybindings active
 • 11 other dragons, with 1 of them being a popular breed, having popular colors, and popular/the latest genes
 • Time and patience, as well as snacks, water, and music, a show, or a podcast

Instructions:
 • Place your trainer in the first slot, and have your Rally stone in the first slot so that you can use it when you press "A" on your keybindings. This is important for speed. When you are able to use Eliminate, you'll be able to mash the A key to Rally your dragon without accidentally rallying any other dragon. This helps with leveling speed.
 • Place the dragon that's going to be level 25 in the second slot, and the fodder in the third slot.
 • Level your dragons until they reach level 10. Swap out the fodder that's in the 3rd slot with a fresh one. For the dragon that you are leveling to 25, assign points into VIT.
 • Rinse and repeat until all the fodder are level 10 and that dragon is level 25. Exalt fodder and sell the level 25 for 180g-200g.

Explanation (Why This Works):
 • The amount of experience required to get to 25 is roughly the same as leveling 10 dragons to level 10.
 • You can also sort and sell your coliseum drops to increase your profits. For me, in Kelp Beds, I made almost 300k from drops alone (when utilizing the AH) when leveling a dragon from 20-25, which is half of the journey to 25. Your mileage may vary, but it is something to consider.
 • In either case, this is the method that I use to get dragons to level 25 without feeling massively bored or limiting my income.

5. Festival Grinding

This section is going to be shorter than the others, because it's actually much simpler than the others: take your grinding team, punch the enemies in the right venues, gather loads of festival currency, and sell it.

Maki is gracious enough to provide us all with guides to each festival. Here is the archive, but be sure to check out the Guides forum on the first day of each festival (or even the day before) so you can know where to go to make the most profit.

You don't need to sell every little bit of currency you get, but selling every other stack that you grind up can add up big time throughout the week. Selling any extra chests you don't need, as well as hoarding skins/accents to sell at a later date can also help you make a profit. Plus, if you have been keeping up with using Baldwin during the rest of the month, you'll have lots of regents to sell to others for a premium price as players try to brew the festival exclusive items and the festival currency.

Ooh, I was looking for something like this! I don't know if I'll be able to actively help with data gathering, but I'm so glad this is out there. Thank you!

@JusticeTurtle
The fact that you commented on it is honestly helpful enough! :D Especially since you helped me indirectly with making it~ Thank you!

Added some fancy formatting, but as it is now 7am and I haven't slept, it is time to let most of the venues deal with not having images and try to sleep [emoji=guardian tongue size=2]

@EeveeDream
Very nice!
Only comments would be:

- I really wouldn't advise using agi in any build. All it does is increase your chances to dodge (which is useless for most builds) and there's some debate about whether it's actually completely broken and does nothing.

- 'Glass cannon' isn't the name of a build, it's a class of builds that focus on str and quick over defense, dodging and health. Culex's build is just known as a culex grinder/build, and people regularly refer to others as glass cannons. The culex guide itself talks about this, and given Maki's guide doesn't mention 'shattered cannon' it's a bit confusing.

- I'd put the culex build in brackets or at least after the Maki one. It's like the 117 and 119 str flyers - 126 str was optimal before the coli revamp, but it's since been superceded by the more effective 133str build. You can still use 126 (or a 117 flyer) but you'll have a worse time. It's generally only still referenced for the leveling process, which your guide supercedes.

To be clear though - this is a few minor points in an excellent revamp. The money-making section is a very nice addition.

EDIT: You don't need a healer in FP! Some people prefer it, but with three 133str it's unnecessary as there's no 4-packs and the bosses are mages.

@EeveeDream Hi, sorry to be a bother, but my name in this post is misspelled; it should be "Sylvandyr", not "Sylvander". Could you please fix that? It makes me really sad when people put an "e" in my name. (You're not the only one, so don't feel too bad; it happens a lot.)

I'm also dropping in links to my tools that I consider relevant to this guide, though it's up to you whether you want to link them.
 • Flight Rising Coliseum Skills and Enemy Stats - This tool lets you check all the enemy stats in all venues and the amount of STR you need to KO them with certain skill combinations per venue. I make an effort to keep it up-to-date. The Thunderhead Savanna data that you're missing is also available in my tool. (Heads up: I noticed you spelled it with an extra "h" in your guide, but the in-game venue does not have an "h" at the end.)
 • Flight Rising Coliseum Stat Preview - This tool lets you check the stats available on your dragon with any combination of level, augment stones, and tincture/breed without tincture. It should be helpful for planning where points will go while people are training dragons with different conditions. It's hideous because I've made no effort to improve its looks since 2013, but it works and is a bit more convenient than FR's built-in version since it lets you +/-10 stats in addition to +/-1 (and you can look ahead in levels).
 • QCK turn order KO threshold comparison - I have detailed information about QCK levels and KO thresholds for Meditate, Scratch, and Anticipate builds in the GLR and Meditate or Scratch builds in the Mire. It's your guide, so the stat recommendations are up to you, but I consider my post helpful for decision-making for the GLR/Mire solo trainer stats because it has the breakdown by each enemy QCK pack for each trainer's QCK range.

Thanks.

@Vendrus Those are all good points! Thank you for taking the time to look through the guide and give your input. I do want to ask about what you mean regarding the 126 build. I only mention it for the Kelp Beds trainers, and it's the one that Maki recommends. Did you mean the 129 grinding build? As for responses: For the AGI mention--its more of a dump stat than anything. Of course, you can dump stat anywhere you like, but it is the recommendation of the guides linked, and so I wrote it that way. I put the terms glass cannons and shattered cannons next to the names because I often refer to them that way, and have seen many others use those distinctions as well. So it's more of a reference point in this case! The builds are listed in "stat order"--notice how the Redfoot build is 122, above the 129 build. [emoji=guardian happy size=1] It is included not only because it is common, but because it is an option than people may choose to use. As for FP, thank you for letting me know that a mage isn't necessary! I personally have had a hard time without one while using 133 dragons, but I will certainly make sure to note it in the FP specific section I will write, and correct myself in the guide! @sylvandr I am SO sorry!! I thought I copy and pasted your name, but apparently I did not [emoji=guardian sad size=1] I corrected it immediately! Thank you so much for letting me know! Thank you so much for the links to your tools! I'll be sure to include them visibly in the guide as well when I update it!
