In light of the Dev update, PLEASE look at the profile of the person you are send the fr to to see if they are alright with them. It can make some people—including myself—nervous
I have warmed up to them, but now I ONLY accept the friend requests from ppl that I have talked to.
Many people will send a lot of friend requests, and might accidentally upset someone. Don’t feel horrible if you sent someone who doesn’t want friend requests one, but please check first!

my friends are either actual friends of mine or people that i chat with on fr or discord, and random friend requests make me feel guilty for declining them. i have a disclaimer in my profile and i don't really want to put it in my sig but if i get them i may have to

Very important info, this needs to be said. Always look in the clan profile before any specific interaction, many people have a FAQ, I have it listed in there for example.
ALSO! If you did send a friend request, even on accident or you only afterwards realised that the person in question doesn't accept friend requests, please PLEASE leave a profile comment stating why you sent it or that you made a mistake (of course, unless stated otherwise; some people don't like profile comments). It is SO much easier for me and most likely many other people to decide what they're going to do if the person leaves a comment. When people send random requests without saying anything, it really stresses me out, although I recently broke free from the shackles of anxiety and I just audibly yell "I'M SORRY, PEOPLE, it says don't do it in the clan profile" and then just decline.

Oh really agree with this! Even with the update I prefer to friend people I've talked with or know irl.
Don't really have issues with it and usually if it happens w/o a message explaining why I usually just decline and think nothing more of it. I mean for all ik it could've been an accident so I don't get upset about it.
But for the sake of those who might get anxiety over it please do check profiles!
