@Ilium Tell me about it. I'm usually here right after rollover to do my dailies and I'm a little nervous about how all of that is gonna turn out.

@Ilium I totally get that. It's why I don't gamble. (Although I do struggle with my desire for capsule machine prizes, I think I'm getting better...)
But this time around, I thought, what's the harm? There's no real money involved, and I grind in the Coli for food off and on, anyway...

Lottery =/= casino although I suppose I should probably not get in the habit of doing scratch offs either.

XD; As long as you don't LEAVE me there it would probably be okay. :p and well if I'm honest my mother and aunts and grandmother were always clear to me about how to avoid spending too much. (But I actually do kind of want to go to a casino or two when I get home, just for the experience. Pachinko parlors are so smoky I can't get within three feet of the door without choking.)
And yeah, I'm normally here at/around rollover... I guess since the chests are supposed to change at 23:59 we'll at least know if the site is/has exploded before it goes down for maintenance. I'm pretty sure that most of my significant gains were made before the last rollover; I think if I'd found a scroll since the last rollover I'd be chewing my nails.

Capsule machines I don't have a big problem with. My issue are the damn crane machines. I have gotten a real taste for those since moving to Japan especially since it actually *is* possible to win and I have developed some skill at it. I have to avoid arcades now; I cringe to think of the money I have spent that way without a second thought...

@Ilium It's easy to get lost in casinos. Also, there's not much you can do about the smoke. It kind of goes hand in hand. But if you're seriously interested, we can look into it.
Also, pachinko parlors are just too loud for my taste. Casinos are loud, but not THAT loud.

@Ilium It's easy to get lost in casinos. Also, there's not much you can do about the smoke. It kind of goes hand in hand. But if you're seriously interested, we can look into it.

On the other hand, as a moderately new player myself (Nov Window), I made out really well with NotN. I "won the lottery" and made millions, as well as having some fancy dragons and familiars I'm happy with.
I don't want to rub it in or anything, and I'm sorry to those who didn't have fun, but the pure RNG of the event meant that newer players had just as much chance to succeed as established ones. I don't think THAT specific aspect of it is necessarily a bad thing.

Somewhere between 1500-1700 chests, obtained almost entirely through the coliseum. Digging only got me a handful. I am level 15 for digging.

1 purchased nocturne
7 eggs for an art trade - gave a few away to friends who hadn't found any.
All of the festival familiars except for the jade decoy, doubles of all except the hibernal bear.
I was bummed to not get a scroll, that and eggs were my goal. I thought for sure I would get one out of the thousands, which I did not. However, someone very very kind accepted my offer of art for a scroll, so mine were acquired that way. I got to change my two favorites into nocturnes, which is what I really wanted to begin with.
Hats off to the folks who managed to grind for 2k+ chests! By the end of today I was wanting to hurl on every longneck and sprangyroo in the Arena, as that's where I did most of my grinding. So I have no idea how you guys did it. I feel like if I never see another longneck it will be too soon XD. No more grinding for me for awhile O-O
I know this is weird, but grinding became sort of a habit. I'd have Sai open on one monitor, and the Coli open off to the side in it's own window on my other, so I kind of got into a routine. I'm almost relieved that this is done, which is silly I know! I started imagining the dodging longnecks as smug jerkfaces every time they dodged (which was a looooot). When I'm starting to attribute personality traits to nearly static pixel characters it is time to stop, yanno?
