The Nocturne event, like other updates FR has rolled out in the past month or so, has felt very... hastily and haphazardly put together. From where I'm sitting, it seemed like the team was just throwing out content without having given it enough time, testing, or thought, to impress new users maybe? ...but it ended up accomplishing the exact opposite.
If the event isn't reworked next time it rolls around, I'll be ignoring it. It was nice to have an incentive to grind in the coli, but feeling obligated to spend hours upon hours in there in hopes I could get in on the spoils of this event, not so much. I'm lucky in that I have a lot of free time but I also feel kind of stupid, honestly, for having wasted so much of it for so little payout. And opening the chests after collecting them... god, that was painful.
I only joined in October, but I poked through the update thread and saw how many veterans were upset about how the event was handled and it saddened me greatly. I really, really hope the FR team gets its act together for large-scale events like this in the future and makes whatever changes necessary to keep things fun. It can be done and I have hope that it will be. ♥

Personally, I didn't grind. I didn't bother.
I'm picky, an ungened dragon is still an ungened dragon to me. So I didn't care for eggs. As for the scroll, if it came my way, cool! If not, eh. Just wait a few months. All Nocturnes will go down in price. Just like everything else.
Not only that, but I a real life. So I don't bother to do anything more then breed, feed, and buy some things off the AH. That's what this game should be like. 'Just to pass the time thing'. Not a 'stay in this site for hours'.
I think what they were trying to accomplish with this event, is that they were trying to make Nocturnes last longer. Everything else that has been brought out open to the public 100%, it went sour fast economy wise. So maybe they thought bringing them in limited would make them last longer economy wise. Either way it did suck. Everyone has time. Time when even Nocturnes go down in price.

I opened 700 chests without an egg or scroll. Not only that, but I bought a high number of tickets in nocturne raffles yet still... Nothing. My friend on the other hand, got three eggs and a scroll in the first 150 chests. So yeah I was pretty fed up with the event since I tried so hard... But now, I guess I don't really mind as much since I worked my butt off and paid for a female nocturne, an egg and eventually won one raffle (yesterday *cough*)... Still though. You can tell me I'm very unlucky person who just happens to be friends with lucky people but... I do think the event was slightly unfair. And yes, I did get mad/depressed/fed up with the event but you can't blame me if you look at those statistics.
