I prefer non-busy genes and colours on them, as their lineart is already pretty overwhelming. Simpler designs work best in my eyes.

They have a huge resemblance to te stone lions that guard temples in some cultures, if you take a look to the dormant obelisc statue icon that give at us, it looks even more like them, they are a quite cool mix for me.
