Immune to most poisons and illnesses, Styx's bloodline prove to be natural healers dedicated to fighting diseases and finding cures to the various plagues evolving in Sornieth. Styx herself was formidable- gentle to those she helped and ruthless in her pursuit to eradicate anything plague.
It was pure happistance that she discovered her children also shared her immunity; a sudden outbreak that devastated her town left her hatchlings untouched. She knew then that her bloodline was destined for greatness; that she had, personally, been called to step up. There was a target on her entire progeny, and the plagues were now something personal. Something intelligent and looming.
Her children were going to be just as devastatingly efficient as she was. Styx would make sure of that.
Her daughter, Ayin, learned her mother’s trade. Yet in secret she grew and cultivated illnesses, imbuing them with small fragments of her own magic until she was able to absorb them and integrate them into herself. She wasn’t content to simply wipe out the plague; she wanted to understand. To learn. To pick apart the Spread and
finally make a real difference.
Ayin learned how the plague spread, which illnesses could be bargained with, and which ones should be kept dormant, far away from the light of day. And, one by one, she made them hers.
She heard their whispered voices- their simple desires- their desperate will to
live. And she
understood. With her new knowledge she swept into battle, taming the rampant plague in the same way that others subdued the beastclans and took on familiars.
Her collection only grew.
