This is why he usually doesn't visit the main town/village, preferring the safety of his cottage in the woods. Even though Atherr is such a youngling, Gem is very fond of him and his kind personality and love of nature. Aside from that, dragons usually visit him for ointments/treatments/etc and then leave.
