12-28-14: He arrived as an egg, delivered by a friendly dragon from Teeka's lair. Upon his hatching, he immediately became the favorite of Athena and the unmated Sapphire, both of whom think the young Nocturne from their own birth Flight is extremely cute... much to his chagrin. He would rather be known as a fierce and mysterious warrior. Ah, well. Perhaps he can convince his adopted family of his prowess as he ages....

1-3-15: He has become a fine, strong adult... Whose "aunt" still calls him adorable. At least she adds "handsome" to it now....

3-5-15: He has decided to take a name at last... and has named himself after the "Serpent Sea" he heard Athena speaking of once, as a reference to his green coloration, and his preferred method of striking from the shadows while hunting...

3-28-15: The Magma Embear has Awakened! Anguis is thrilled, although he does wish the bear would stop growling at all the dragons in the lair....

8-28-15: Anguis journeyed with his mother to the Flameforger’s Festival this year, and a ended up swimming in a very unusual pool… ( )

8-29-15: And he had so much fun swimming in the lava yesterday, Anguis decided to do it again today! Maybe this time he’ll find something really exciting…. ( )

3-22-16: Almost a full year from the time of his Bear's Awakening (6 days shy exactly), Anguis has made a new friend. The Clown Hippocampus seems to be the only creature these days who thinks his fighting is worth anything. No doubt they will get on beautifully....

6-24-16: After a few false starts, the Clown Hippocampus, who is now called Flama, has Awakened! Anguis is quite pleased for his friend....

8-28-17: Anguis is now more than old enough to go on adventures alone, and has decided to make another, less supervised, go at the Flameforger's Festival. So far, he has been having a good time, including a stop at a rather unusual game of chance, where Athena was just finishing up her own attempts at the billows... ( )

8-29-17: Incredibly, Anguis did very well at pumping the billows. Perhaps he has, indeed, found a new vocation? The Clan will have to wait and see...

9-2-17: Anguis and his "parents", Athena, and Sapphire, returned to the Fire Forge Stall together for the final day of the Flameforger's Festival. They decided to engage in a friendly competition to end the week... ( )

…And so the family had a great time, and came home with some nice ever-flaming bottles to display on their Trophy Shelves....and perhaps Anguis really has found a new pastime? Only time will tell for certain, but it does seem that Anguis is interested in making new things....

8-15-17: While gathering burning materials for his new forge--and the Clan is STILL wondering where he got that--Anguis had stumbled, and almost stepped into an odd-looking nest. The Serpenta that the nest belonged to was not amused, and had leapt out, hissing and growling. Anguis had dropped his wood, and crouched down, ready to fight, when he looked into the creature's snarling face and small, nasty yellow eyes....

Hours later, when Anguis returned to the lair, the Clan was stunned to discover that a missing captured familiar had been found--and bonded to a dragon! Now the two are happily exploring this new partnership, exchanging blows and fire spurts intermittently. Both the Magma Embear and the Clown Hippocampus seem a bit surprised by this development, but as Flama was getting a little tired and Scorch always likes a nice brawl, neither one is exactly unhappy. Athena, however, is not sure how this changing situation will affect her hopes for Anguis to become interested in something other than fighting, and the entire Clan is waiting to see what happens next...

12-24-17: The Clan is stunned anew, and not sure whether they should applaud Anguis' new prowess at fighting--or fear it. it seems that Anguis and the Seprenta have developed a means of fighting between them that relies just as much on fiery illusions as on real threats, and now no one is really sure what they are dealing with--or seeing--whenever the former bumbling Nocturne lets loose. In the meantime, the forge Anguis set up has, in fact, gotten some use, as it seems that Firetongue (and don't ask Anguis where that name came from if you don't want to get singed) actually likes making things--as long as they are weapons--or at least look like weapons. And now the Serpenta has Awakened fully to his whole potential! Oh dear...

8-31-18: It came as no surprise to the Clan when Anguis decided to head to the Flameforger's Festival again this year, especially considering the rumors that a certain game of chance was returning... ( )

…And to the astonishment of the entire Clan, Anguis has returned home with 10 lit bottles! It seems that he really does have some prowess with Forge work, even when it isn't weapons he is working on. Athena, however, is a little unhappy about the contents of those bottles, and wishing that her snake-obsessed son had not gone to the Forge alone. At least the little Fire Snakes seem to want to stay inside the bottles, and don't want to go slithering all over the cave....

1-25-19: Anguis was working in his homemade forge today, when one of his snakes started hissing at him frantically. Startled, the young Nocturne moved over to that bottle, trying to discover what his friend could possibly want. All that accomplished was causing all 10 snakes to start to hiss, staring fixedly at his head. It took Anguis almost an hour to find out what was wrong...or rather, what was right: Anguis has joined the ranks of the dragons in the Clan with a magical aura. His Conflagrant Halo proudly proclaims his place as one of the better mages of the Clan, confirming, to the entire Clan's relief, that his strengths most definitely lie in magic rather than fighting...

...And that sparked an idea in Athena. A quick word with an agreeable (and indulgent) Clan Father, and Athena went to the hoard, did some digging in the back...and then presented her son with the perfect gift to commemorate his acknowledgement as a magical smith: A set of Metallurgist's Forgetools! Anguis is so thrilled, he hasn't left his forge since...

8-28-19: It has become a yearly quest for Anguis to travel to the Ancient Forge during the Flameforger’s Festival, and this year was no exception… ( , )

… And this year, along with yet another set of unusual bottles, Anguis brought home a special additional prize: An Embear Armor Tailgaurd! ( ) It is extremely obvious what his next experiment in his own Forge is going to be now…

8-23-20: Once again, the Fire Festival has dawned, and Anguis is thoroughly enjoying himself wandering the stalls. He is a little concerned, however, since there has been no sign of his favorite game anywhere in the Festival grounds. Hopefully they will show up soon….

8-25-20: The Ember Toss Game has returned! Sapphire just sent word that he has found the tent, and will be waiting for Anguis there. Oh, where did he put those Embers? ( )

…It turned out that Anguis did not need Embers, as Sapphire had brought plenty to spare! And so the younger dragon has settled down to play his favorite game, while the older one watches him indulgently--after gently reprimanding Anguis for bowling over one of dragons working at the Forge, of course. Still, Cait was not injured, and Fuller did not seem at all displeased at Anguis’ enthusiasm, simply inviting him in to try his luck at acquiring more snakes… ( ) …Which Anguis has certainly done! Snakes, Salamanders, and even a few Lemmings. Won’t Athena be surprised when she sees all his new pets? ( )

8-30-20: Anguis just got a surprising gift from his fellow Nocturne, Humboldtianum. It seems that “Bolt” has also been to the Ember Toss this year, and he acquired a very special pet spider: The Cinder Creeper spins webs made of metal and gems! ( ) Oh, the possibilities for new armor with this wonderful critter…

2-8-22: Anguis had a vivid dream last night, showing himself working in the Armory and Forge on a very special weapon. Perhaps its time for him to start on a new project? If only he could remember exactly what it was he was working on...
