@Falconair Anguis winked at the young hatchling now playing with the broken bottle. The hatchling had tried to help him with the bellows, and ended up pushing down too hard, resulting in two of Anguis’ tosses smashing bottles instead of lighting the seeds. The hatchling, however, had not seemed to notice it had done anything wrong, and started picking up the pieces, utterly fascinated with the shiny glass. Anguis had quickly conjured a very small fire, melted down and rounded the edges of the bottle, and then given the inquisitive young one his new toy. That had kept the hatchling busy while the Nocturne finished his tosses, and Anguis was extremely happy with his results. Cradling his new bottles, the Smith waved enthusiastically at Fuller. “Thanks for a fun game, as usual! I need to get back and put these on my Trophy Shelf. Hopefully Mother will like them much better than the Snakes.” On his way out of the tent, Anguis caught a glimpse of Vesuvia, who hadn’t finished her tosses yet. The young Forgemaster took one look at that all-too-familiar gleam in his Clanmate’s eyes and quickly changed directions, edging around a few Spirals tossing Embers a little further on. It would not do for the Clan’s top mischief-maker to see him and get the idea that Aguis should be subject of her next prank…
Username: Canisa Number of Free Tosses (max. 1/day): 1 Tosses Purchased (max. 19/day): 19
Several hours after Anguis left the tent, 4 dragons entered together. Though they varied widely in coloration and temperament, the way they interacted made it clear that they were close friends, if not family. As they moved deeper into the tent, however, they started to drift apart. The group’s only male moved to the side, apparently content to simply observe what was happening and not interfere. The darkest of the three females also started to hang back, though she seemed to be far more interested in the magic in the air than in anything actually visible in the tent. The final two of the foursome did not appear to notice the desertion of their companions, as they were both far too fascinated by what was happening by the Forge…. And it looks like it is based on skill and chance both, as well! Oh, I MUST play this!” The light grey Guardian rolled her eyes at her sister. “A game you can’t win just by watching and mimicking what others do,” she observed, her voice filled with fond exasperation. “Yes, of course you want to play.” She sighed, watching as a bottle broke under too much pressure. “You do realize, Loo,” Imbolc added more softly, “that this isn’t going to be easy? You aren’t exactly proficient in Nature Magic, even if it is supposed to be one of your stronger elements. And if you can’t use your Gift to figure out the best strategy…well, you know what happened last time…” Lughnasadh winced. Why did her sister have to bring that up? She lashed her tail in irritation at the almost inaudible snort from the direction of Beltane. It was all well and good for her brother to laugh—and yes, she could hear Samhian’s giggle as well—but that had not been a fun time. At all. Digging her claws into the floor, she glared over her shoulder at her other two littermates and then turned back to her gentle sister. “This is different.” Lughnasadh said firmly. “I CAN use Nature, even if I don’t do it that often. And Fire, too. And besides,” she added with a toss of her head. “All we have to do is guide the fire to ignite a seed in a bottle. How hard can it be?” Imbolc ducked as another bottle shattered, reigning glass down on them both. How hard, indeed. “Loo, I don’t think you—wait what do you mean WE?!” She stopped dead, as her mind caught up to what her sister had been saying, and stared at the other Guardian in shock. “Loo, I’m a Nursery Maid, not a Gamer!” “Oh, don’t be ridiculous, Imbolc,” the other Guardian laughed lightly. “Everyone can play games. Isn’t that why you left the Hatching Grounds for the Festival in the first place?” She added slyly, “To have some fun while there are no hatchlings to care for?” “Caring for hatchlings IS fun, Loo.” Imbolc snapped, ignoring the louder snort from her brother, and th way her tail still tingled from where it had been bitten, “Breaking bottles isn’t!” Her sister glared. “We’re not going to break any bottles.” She snapped back, “We’re going to light seeds, and bring home some beautiful adornments for our part of the cave. Come on, Imbolc,” she added plaintively. “It’s Nature and Fire together. Both our strongest elements rolled up into one. Don’t you want a real Fire Flower? And who else am I going to play with?” Lughnasadh tossed her head back towards their siblings in frustration, “Samhain?” The other Guardian winced. Playing with Samhain when magic was involved was never a good idea. Throw in Fire as one of those magical elements…No. Just, no. Imbolc sighed, watching as one of the bottles suddenly sprouted a fire stalk. Lughnasadh was right about one thing, she admitted. She DID want a flower made out of fire. It was why they had come to the tent in the first place. She had seen Anguis with those beautiful flaming stalks, and he had told them he got them from here…She sighed again. “All right, Loo, I’ll play. But I’m only doing a couple tosses—Loo wait!” Too late. A beaming Lughnasadh had already hurried over to the Snapper running the game, and pulled out a bunch of Embers from…somewhere. As Imbolc quickly joined her, she was just in time to hear her sister say, “So, that’s 19 Embers for 20 Tosses—10 each, right?” (Sending Embers shortly!)

They've begun working the bellows and shrieking as sparks scatter. Two adult skydancers rush in after them. The father herds the squealing dragons out while the mother apologizes profusely and offers several glowing embers for the trouble. Such a large clutch for first time parents, it's no wonder that they're having such trouble.
