The Queen of Cups

“Ask and ye shall receive, as the saying goes. Seek aid, and I will aid you. Seek a beast... and you will find one.”

I t’s always easier to hide within the shadows... but it’s even harder to hide within plain sight and succeed. Like her grandmother, rumors have spread of a shadow being known as the Hidden One within the Garden of the Eleven. Some cry of a beast, while others whisper of a savior. Those who can pass the Elder of the Garden rarely return, and even then... the fractured fragments of what were once dragons always stutter warnings of the silver-tongued hound that followed them home.

This is the tale of the Barghest, Ara.

PRyH9lP.png
Deep within the Spiral Keep, two shells split open, underneath the Rose Moon. While it was true they were alone, it did not stop the current from carrying two cards to their shells, leaving the new pups with a string of fate to their name. Her card was faded, but it never left her side, binding her to her lineage of Witchborne just as much as her fur bound her to her curse.

She knew not of her sister, or where she drifted, but the young pup did not stay in the keep. No, the pup was found, as many often are, washed up in debris in the great seas surrounding the continent of Sornieth. It was by drakes she was found, aboard the Blood Pearl no less. Well, more like their leviathan, but that didn't matter to the crew of the Cardinal Sisters' flagship. No, the whispers are what woke her, her watery blue eyes wide as she took in everything around her. One voice finally struck out from the rest, silencing them all.

"Someone please just let me see this mystery shadow child. I don't care if this is a dog, or a girl, or what have you. I just want to see what we pulled out of the Tidelord-forsaken ocean."

Those blue eyes locked with the single ruby gaze of a dark Wildclaw, the other covered by a decorative patch. There was silence on the ship before the Wildclaw gently lifted the waterlogged card from the pup's coat, mist drifting from it's edges. The Queen of Cups... She gently set it back down in her fur, turning to her crew.

"All o' you, back to your stations. You two, set up something comfortable in the brig for the little one. We can't keep her, but I think the Starwood Port was asking about meeting one o' these Witchborne. If anyone would know what t' do, it's the Archivists."

Hor-divider-640.png

"Drifted on some ship debris, you said?"

The silk-draped Imperial peered at the small bundle. To the Wildclaw, as well as the other captains, the little one seemed to be an Imperial, with her wavy mane and gentle eyes taking in the world around her. Sure, there's more fur than most, but it isn't the end of the world to be a little fluffy for an Imperial. Maybe some of the crew thought she was a dog at first, but now she was just an Imperial, a young dragon stranded at sea.

Not to the eyes of silken Imperial. No, each one could see the creature in their arms. Matted fur, sharp blue eyes trying to see through each pale orb along his flank, the flickering search of one assessing the situation with but a glance. This was no young Imperial, but something he recognized from his encounters in the Garden of the Eleven as of late. First a shadow in the churchyard, then a traveler that managed to appear inside the Tourmaline Archives without raising any alarms, but this had to be the first time he was simply handed a Barghest, quite literally. He still didn't know if the tendencies of a Barghest were born, or learned, but this was the perfect opportunity to find out. However, the card tucked away with her made for an interesting twist.

"Yeah, drifted. We spotted 'er from the nest an' thought she was some scrap from another ship. Dangerous waters, out by th' Floes an' th' Crescendo. Gotta have skill to not get swept into one or th' other." And yet this pup had the eyes of the Tidelord, a blessing to the Witchborne. This pup arose from the sea, as if she came from the depths herself, and they didn't bat an eye? It was the typical allure of the siren aspect of the water-eyed Barghests, and yet she was a pup. She was exposed to Imperials. None bore bites, none were drained, no Barghest attacks. Nothing. Perhaps her lineage as a Witchborne helped with that? He was careful as he held the pup close, lost in thought.

"It's a good thing you brought her to me. Some of us have studied the Witchborne enough to teach her what she won't inherently know, and her abilities with the Moon of Roses will certainly be helpful if she ever decides to set up in the Garden of the Eleven." The drakes of the Cardinal Sisters' crews seemed saddened by the news. The young one would be staying here? Couldn't she go with them? Perhaps they could visit by going to port at the Garden's old dockyard? One drake, however, had her ruby eye narrowed at the Imperial, apparently having a question of her own.

"And what does th' Rose Moon have t' do with this drake? What's it mean for a Witchborne, Hochmael?" The large Imperial couldn't help but chuckle, causing the pup in his arms to relax somewhat as she realized he didn't seem to want to hurt her. He gave the little one a pat on the head before letting his eyes, every last one, lock on the crew he knew to be glamoured by the hatchling. His answer caused the pup to scowl at him.

"Because, that's the moon she was born under. Witchborne blessed by it tend to be exceptionally skilled at appearing as they are not. A glamour, if you will. And it only gets worse over time if you don't catch onto it." The crew looked back to the scowling Imp in Hochmael's arms and gasped when they saw a hound, young and clearly pouting as she remained tucked in his wing. Now that the glamour was revealed to them, they could see her for what she truly was, and it both frightened and awed them.

"Especially useful when afflicted with the curse of the Barghest, wouldn't you agree?"

The serpentine Foxfire Kitsune walked along the edge of the cliff, glancing back at the now-obvious Barghest as he went. With the others in the Garden, he'd expected her to try something, but the young Barghest seemed perfectly calm. If he hadn't been told in advance what she was, he was sure he'd see her as a regular Imperial now, if not a purely helpful Witchborne.

"Think this'll do? Or maybe someplace not so close to falling into the blasted water?" The larger Imperial was wary of toppling off the cliff side. He lived somewhere similar, and he'd slipped before. A fall like that was something he didn't want to relive. The younger Imperial seemed to catch on, moving between the almost serpentine Imperial and the water's edge.

"No need to fear. The ground here is stable. I can... sense it, if that makes sense. The water doesn't seep here. It's a sturdy foundation." He looked to the Imperial, spotting those little canid fangs as she pondered her abilities for a moment more. "I think Hoch said Barghests with my eyes can control sea creatures? Maybe I'm reading water bears somehow. They should be close. And then there's innate Witchborne abilities of Hydrokinesis..." The slender Imperial looked stunned as she went on, murmuring about all she'd learned in the span of a few days in Hochmael's care. He'd taken a shine to her, it seemed! Finally he managed to cut her off.

"So, what'll you build here? Cavern? Campsite? Hutch?" The Witchborne Barghest fell quiet at that, giving him the opportunity to go on a tangent on what could work well there and what might be better suited for other locations. A campsite would work well a little tucked into the wood, with a nice view. A cavern was easy enough to dig with his partner's Tunnel Hydra, promptly dubbed Precious by the Guardian. A hutch fit the generic witch stereotype, and was easy enough to make with some help. Soon she seemed to have an idea of her own.

"A cabin. There are many dead trees here that need to come down before they fall on someone, and the wood can be put to good use here. A decent cabin, firewood for years, and of course I'd plant new trees in their place if I can. It'd be better than most other options, especially if I wish to continue to practice my skills as a Witchborne." The slender Imperial nodded his head. Okay, that made sense. Plenty of room for herbology, easy to get pools for scrying, and her water purifying would work wonders with all the saltwater pools that could form up here. A cabin made plenty of sense, with a nice view of the ocean beyond.

The snake-like Foxfire was quiet as he watched the Barghest inspect the area, the sun setting into a somewhat softer silver glow. He helped her map things out as the stars slowly winked into existence overhead, painting the dark night with pale spots of color. He couldn't help but smile as he worked, his wisps flickering about as he listened to the creatures of the night, including the occasional call of a Barghest in the distance. And yet, as he helped the calm Witchborne settle into her new home over the following months, he couldn't help but notice how the light of the moon caught on her pale skeletal markings, turning her into a little spark of silver blue light, eagerly watching the moon as it was chased across the night sky. She may be a creature of the sea, but it was clear to the Foxfire that there was a hunger within the Barghest for more than dreams, but instead the very light that inspired them.

He was almost relieved to have retired from that work all those years ago. Who knew what she'd do if he made a new light for her to race after.

The odd stony Coatl walked down the path under the midday sun, his wings drawn in as he followed the path he felt was right. For days now he'd struggled, fighting back impatient growls every time he had to leave the old church. He knew the Barghest bound to him was protective of the place; Eleven knows how bad she'd get if an actual thief broke in one day. However, he knew very well the Elder who had taken him in so long ago only ever meant well, and wouldn't dare steal a single scrap of parchment from the ruins. The problem lay within the project being whispered about.

A faint growl rang in his head, causing him to sway on the path a little. Normally Horcrux would be resting right now, preparing herself to try and break free to hunt when night fell. Lately, however, she'd taken up a less predictable routine, feigning sleep only to try and seize enough control to hold it when the stars finally appeared in the sky above. He knew she wanted to go back to her home, to watch over it like a hawk, but he also knew the plans for the place were meant to be a good thing. Nothing stolen, only improved. He might even manage to convince the others to build a spot just for the two of them, Barghest and Bound. But for now, she refused to listen, draining away what energy he had over the past few weeks.

He needed help. He'd tried to just handle her snaps and strikes at first, the same song and dance from his first encounter with a potential thief in the church. He knew Horcrux had begun to dislike how he was pure at heart, innocent in many ways. However, he also knew he needed to keep on his guard, to keep her at bay for when innocent drakes entered the church. He had been the one to remind her of her oath to the Barghest she had created, that she would not strike out at students from the Divided Spire. He knew she was strict when it came to trespassers, and the plans for the ruins would only make things worse. If he was tired now, with a few of the Scholars simply walking the streets of what had once been a city called Arcadia, he'd be too weak to even try and stop her if they turned their attention to the church. Or, really, when they did so.

He rounded the bend, stumbling, as though Horcrux herself had checked his side with one of her glassy wings. He'd heard rumors of a friendlier drake near the cliffside, one with spellcrafts and potions and other such cures for anything one could possibly suffer from. Well, almost anything, if the abundance of Barghests moving in said anything. Perhaps this drake could help him explain to Horcrux what the project was, and how nothing would be stolen away from her. He expected to see a glimpse of shaggy fur storm ahead of him, ready to glower at the drake he was seeking aid from. What he didn't expect was to see that shadow dart back to him, as if to shield his eyes from something.

A shadow flickered near the cabin, a newer addition raised only a season ago. If it weren't for Horcrux standing beside him, only truly visible to his eyes as far as he was aware, he'd have sworn it was her. However, he was more surprised to see a somewhat demure hound, coat groomed to near perfection, murmuring softly to a plant box on the windowsill. He could feel his own Barghest try and push him back, only freezing when a twig snapped beneath him. A pair of deep blue eyes lifted to stare at him, reflecting the light like the depths of the ocean just a hop, skip and a leap away from her home.

"I figured I'd be getting someone today." It was such a chipper voice, practically a yip, and yet those eyes were watching their every move, almost as judgemental as Horcrux was when it came to her stomping grounds. If you had told me you were going to another Barghest, I'd have fought harder. He could see those golden eyes glaring at him now, feel the Barghest practically wrap herself around him as she prepared to chastise him. Instead, he found something else to say.

"You're a Witchborne, correct? Did you predict that? Was it through the stars, or scrying?" There was his curiosity, eliciting a soft growl of annoyance from his own Barghest. He'd never met a Witchborne before, however, and his desire to learn more about them trumped the comments he knew he'd get from Horcrux for pestering her. He could already hear her starting to whisper to him, growling softly about how that made all of this worse. However, it was the Witchborne who had caught his attention, pausing for a moment before smiling. Then she was laughing.

"Oh Eleven no, not the stars! I may adore them, but their voices remain a mystery to me. No, the river fish couldn't rest with all the snarling and growling in the church. Even they worry a bit when things change like that, and they told me themselves they found it rather bothersome." The Coatl could only stare, Horcrux falling silent as the Barghest-Witchborne walked over to him, holding out a paw for him to shake. "Oh, no need to be offended. Only saying what they said to me. I just figured it might be that church Barghest who wanted help. Or perhaps it's the both of you? Either way, I'd be happy to help where I can." He watched as Horcrux drew her own talon-like paw back, sneering at the younger Barghest. The Coatl, however, was more than happy to take her paw, shaking it as he smiled.

"Oh, that'd be right. Bound and all, if you know what that is. She's... well, a little on edge lately, and I was wondering if you could help with it?" He could hear that growl as the Witchborne's smile fell a little, her head tilting ever so slightly. I don't trust this, Tadhiel. Young ones tend to be... problematic. The Coatl thought that was obvious enough from her actions alone. It was clear his own Barghest didn't trust this new one. A little chuckle was all it took to catch his attention again, however.

"Oh, you aren't looking for something to bind her further. You're trying to talk to her, right? Explain things? I can help act as a sort of intermediary for you two if you'd like. I even have some nice lavender candles, or rosemary if you prefer. I think that was used in the church back in the day." She turned around before Tadhiel could reply, motioning for them to follow her with a wave of her paw. He watched Horcrux open her mouth, likely to say something else about the Barghest, when the younger one spoke up.

"And I'm not that much younger than you. Just a couple months, I think. And I can hear you. You can call me Ara if you'd like." Tadhiel and Horcrux both froze at that, watching as the Barghest walked into her home. Soon enough, she was back in the doorway, waving them over. He looked up to Horcrux, then gave his best smile. It would be fine. He was sure they would be alright if they just spoke with Ara.

"Well Horcrux, let's give her a chance and talk."

I walk through the maelstrom, the winds dying within a whisker of my coat. The storm knows better than to try it's luck with me, not when I thrive in the chaos it brings. Normally I search for a dream, a desperate mind seeking peace in such a place. Perhaps longing for home, a burning hearth and a warm meal waiting for them within the confines of their homes. Maybe instead they dream of someplace better, where the winds tease and the clouds are light as a bunny's tail. Those are the best dreams for me, where I loom on the horizon, thunderheads at my heels.

Tonight is different.

I'd seen her before, stalking the shadows as the wind tugged at her hide. I'd watched the wind as it tried to toss her aside like a scrap of cloth in a roiling sea. I'd heard thunder roar as it challenged her for daring to walk so close. I'd watched lightning flash so close, I could feel my own fur stand on end. And yet, even tonight, I can only stare as the rain runs off her coat like it were made of mallard feathers, not phasing her in the slightest. Perhaps it's those watery blue eyes, a hint of her own heritage, that causes it. Maybe it's the fact she's one of those accursed fiends that makes candles to ward her, or reads fate's weave to guide others to safety. No matter the case, I know one thing for certain. She stands as a threat to myself, as well as my partner in the hunt.

I turn my head to the side, eyeing the ruins where he waits. A flicker of shadow, a void even compared to the night itself, waiting for my work to pay off. Any creature that stood strong in the face of my storm, reveling in the chaos and calamity my own power brought, would find themselves in his path. Wandering the wreckage, they'd find the darkest echoes of the maelstrom, yearning for more and more until there was nothing left of them. My attempts at luring her had failed so far. Every effort made to drive her away was met with a stalwart determination, to walk through the thickes of groves and pluck pieces of nature itself from their roots. She faced one of my worst barrages yet just for a small patch of thyme she'd cultivated along one of the many winding paths. Yet now, I can see where I'd failed. She did not fear the storm. She saw it as an obstacle in her quest, and needed to see if her precious sprouts had survived in the aftermath. I could not reach her, but he could.

I move back as she pauses on her walk, lifting her head. I can hear him freeze, our own breath catching in our throats. Those ruins housed precious herbs used in her little candles and incenses. She needed to check them. She needed to see if they were alright. She was so very close to him, so very close to finally being out of our fur! I can feel my claws dig into the mulch beneath me, my teeth bared. Just one more step...

"Do you really believe me to be so foolish? To be a helpless healer?" I freeze, as does he. Is she speaking to us? Talking to us? This little Witchborne, this drake that wards off the hounds, dares talk to us? And yet, there's a look in those eyes I cannot place, something that freezes my paws to the ground as if in shackles. I hear him growl at her, see him lower his head as if to strike. Normally I revel in such a sight, but this time, all I feel is fear. I do not understand why until I look to her, feeling the fur on the back of my neck rise as if I were moments away from succumbing to my own torrential downpour.

"You forget, dogs, that I am one of you." I can only watch in horror as he lunges, teeth bared, not at a dimure Witchborne, but a very large, very angry beast. Fur stuck out in sharp clumps, eyes like little deep blue beads that make me feel as though I've fallen into the depths of the ocean, my heart weighed down with the weight of the sea itself. I could feel it, sense it, the mistake we have made. He only sees it when her teeth take him by the scruff, throwing him into myself.

As the storm crashes around us, the rain seeping through my coat for the first time in my life, the Witchborne hound straightens, pulling her dropped basket back to her side. There is no smile on her maw like most of our kin, nor is there fire in her eyes. Just a cold, icy stare, holding us in place as she straightens her silks, gives us one final cursory glance, then walks into the ruins, head held high.

We now know better than to follow her. We doubt we'll ever need that lesson to be taught again.

I walk beside the Ophaniel, my eyes looking him over. I still remember, albeit faintly, my first memory of him. A hulking beast with many eyes and many wings, draped in silks so fine I thought they were woven from starlight and seafoam itself. I remember how frustrating it was, that he had ended my days of being pampered by the crew of the Blood Pearl with one simple statement of fact. I remember how angry I was, knowing he could see right through me.

Even now, as we pick our way through the wreckage of another of Mammon's storms, I can tell he sees past my silks and finery. He can see that the rose he'd left in the cliffside garden had her thorns, and would always take care around them. He could see the beast I was. Perhaps he'd noticed how Mammon and Abaddon had taken to leaving my residence somewhat peaceful, rarely building up the courage to come near my door. Or maybe he'd seen how Horcrux had calmed in recent months, allowing Tadhiel to rest when he needed. Maybe he'd even seen the sweet golden Imperial, the fox that was just to the left of right, laughing over a cup of tea and fresh herbs we'd gathered together.

We're silent as we walk, at least at first. He carefully clears the path, working with an ease that only comes with experience. Even the smallest splinter doesn't escape his scrutiny as he slowly makes the paths in the garden safe once more. I remember when those eyes would always remain locked on me, or at least one would, warily watching me as I took roots and herbs to work into my own little garden. I hadn't noticed exactly when it had happened, but as I look now, I can see one of those eyes watching me as I place some lavender stalks into my basket. I can see it, a soft light in that eye. Was it wrinkled in a smile?

"You've grown, little pup." I'm shaken from my thoughts by his words. I expected something else, some question about whether I knew why the storm was so bad, or whether the cliffside paths were still stable. He hadn't talked about me, at least to me, since I was a pup snapping at his heels for making me work on my own. I look down at myself, at my now cracked pads, my fur dusted with pollen and seaspray, old natural-grown incense from the Starwood nestled in my coat. I'm so different compared to when I was a pup, silky fur caked in salt, paws so soft the sand caused them to grow red, so well-kept that I couldn't handle a single leaf left in my coat. I can see what he means, in the end, nodding.

"Tides change, Ophaniel. They eb and flow. They carve stone and shores into shapes they never knew they could take. I like to think it did the same for me." I can see him chew on my words as I dig out another piece of lavender, carefully preserving the roots so it could be replanted elsewhere. The storm had not been kind to them, but I know the walls I built will save it, as well as the others in my care, from the wrath of the local Barghests. As I set it in the basket, I see the Imperial nod to himself. He lifts a branch, letting me pass underneath with ease as he sets the dead wood aside. Another drake will likely retrieve it later. Perhaps for a woodcarving project? I still remember one student worrying over their assignments as I prepared some chamomile tea in the back, muttering about how they'd manage to imbue it with nature magic before moonhigh. I still remember trying not to laugh as they despaired over being born in the sisterland of nature, and how such things never came naturally to them. Such silly worries those young drakes have, at least to me.

"They also take many out to sea, giving them a new calling in life." I pause at that, looking back at the Ophaniel. His statements, questions, every word he utters has some meaning to it. There's always a reason, always a goal in mind. Before, I hadn't been all too good at picking out where he was leading me until we were there. I used to growl and grumble over it so much as a pup. Then it became a game. A younger hound, often racing ahead of the conversation, jumping to wilder conclusions with each tangent I could come up with. He'd been so patient back then, letting me go off on the most insane topics my mind could muster. Now, however, I know this to be serious. His advice has helped in the past, but I didn't always like it. Was this one of those cases? What did he want here? What did he believe I needed now? I'm careful as I think things over, and once again he's patient with me. We're closer to the cliff when I find my words.

"That may be, but sometimes it sends you somewhere. It brings you to your calling. I believe that's what it did with me." I pick up a piece of seaglass off the edge of the cliff, likely where a student had dropped it from their scavenging work along the coast. Such lovely blues, greens, and yellows all hidden under a frosty surface, ebbed and changed by the ocean until it brought out an inner beauty most wouldn't consider. It had been changed, probably rolled in from elsewhere. Maybe a message in a bottle, crashed upon the rocks after drifting for years. Perhaps it had been an old bottle on a ship, or an eye vial lost to the waves. The ocean had brought it to this shore, changed it, and left it for someone to find. It had a new purpose, here. That's when it hits me.

"The ocean brought me here. It led me to the ship that brought me to you. The sea breeze sang every night I rested on the cliffside. It warned me of what dangers lay in wait there, teaching me to build a foundation of stone. It's rain watered my garden, providing me the fundamentals I so desparately needed to survive. It led me to a place I could call home, and stood by my side as I planted my roots." I hold out the seaglass, showing it to the Ophaniel.

"It led me home, Hochmael, and I plan to listen to it's advice. I'll stay here, and help those I can." I can see a strange look in his eyes as he gently plucks the seaglass from my paw, holding it up to the light. This time I wait for him, sitting by the path as he looks between it and myself. I can hear the gentle breeze coming in from the salty waves behind me, weaving around me as if it were telling me I'd said the right thing. For a moment I worry, watching the drake tuck the seaglass into one of his silk satchels. Then he smiles at me, every eye turning into that soft, gentle smile reflected on his maw. It is a warmth I'm not familiar with, not from another towards myself, and yet I cannot help but smile back as he nods his head.

"Well then, Ara, rose of the sea, Barghest of the starwood cluffs... Welcome home."

WITCHBORNE TRAITS:

opalpink_orb_by_kayosa_stock-d9z67sc.pngJune, the Moon of Roses
This particular moon grants those born underneath its light the powers of illusion, mostly known as "Glamouring", the act of appearing more beautiful to the beholder. Along this ability accompanies another, although most doubt that it's an ability at all but something taught, is their mastering of words, also earning them the titles of "Silvertongues". It is true that apart from beauty, these dragons could charm their way in and out of almost everything, the beauty of their physique and the allure of their voices making them the front line but most formidable spies and collectors of any information.

BARGHEST TRAIT:
1088.png Water: Those with the ocean’s eyes whisper with the tide. These beasts are often shrouded in dense mats of kelp and sea-life, emerging from the water's depths to call dreamers close.
 • Riptide: capable of shifting the currents and tides of the ocean.
 • Siren Song: capable of lulling dreamers into a trance with their song.
 • Poseidon's Will: capable of controlling the creatures of the sea.

TAROT MEANING:

The Queen of Cups rules the emotional realm. She is the woman whose throne is right on the ocean’s edge, and water is typically symbolic of the unconscious and feeling. Her position at the shore indicates that she lies between land and sea, the place where feeling and thought exist. She holds a cup that has handles shaped like an angel. This cup is closed, which is why the Queen of Cups symbolizes the thoughts that come with our unconscious mind. The queen sits alone, which allows her to think. The calmness of the water and the sky symbolizes the serene mind of the queen. Her feet are not touching the water, which stands for her looking at her thoughts and feelings from the outside.

When it became apparent that through the water, the other dragons could condemn those who they believed had taken their children, the element became their means to an end. But as soon as the whereabouts of Child-Eaters came to surface, it is there where the water had proved to be most fatal to those dreaded fallen witches, burning them and their putrefied physicality as if doused by acid. Witchborne who are christened under this element became adept in controlling the Mist, being able to create, draw, scry through any pool of liquid, and even purify them for their own spells, or for drinking purposes.

Witchborne of the Seed Moon are teachers and diplomats, having a strong need for integrity and honesty and cannot very easily tolerate injustice and disorder. Children often come to them to hear their stories and drink up any knowledge they could imbibe to them. They are also advocates and peace makers, and are often the caretakers of any other Witchborne's charges whenever they need to go somewhere else. They are most likely to be the last line of defense to any charge if all comes to the end. After all, Arcane was just as close to Chaos. Dragons born under this element are also gifted in the following: [columns]- Omnikinesis - Sonokinesis - Energy Manipulation[nextcol]- Mana Manipulation - Spatiokinesis - Chi Manipulation[/columns][/columns] ----- BARGHEST TRAIT: [columns][nextcol]Arcane: Those with star-hewn eyes can read the heavens. These beasts are masters of the dreamscape, molding and crafting their dream realms with frightening realism.

Telescopic: vision is enhanced to telescopic levels capable of seeing even distant stars with the naked eye.
Starspeak: capable of reading the language of the stars.
Inception: capable of planting ideas in dreams and making dreamers believe them to be true.
[/columns] ----- TAROT MEANING: The Tower card depicts a high spire nestled on top of the mountain. A lightning bolt strikes the tower which sets it ablaze. Flames are bursting in the windows and people are jumping out of the windows as an act of desperation. They perhaps signal the same figures we see chained in the Devil card earlier. They want to escape the turmoil and destruction within. The Tower is a symbol for the ambition that is constructed on faulty premises. The destruction of the tower must happen in order to clear out the old ways and welcome something new. Its revelations can come in a flash of truth or inspiration.
