Haruka was born in Ame no kuni. Her parents fled Amegakure, after their clan was used as soldiers in a forlorn war. She inherit the Kekkei-Genkai of her clan, being able to manipulate the bodies of others with just one touch. While her mother used her Kekkei-Genkai to work as a medic, her parents still explained to her, that these powers could also be used to kill.
Because of this powerful Kekkei-Genkai, her parents were murdered right before her when she was a child. Haruka snapped and killed the assassins, left the village she grew up in, and was found – alone and hungry - by Ren. Ren took care of orphans from the war. While Haruka was silent and distanced at first, other children like Taka gained her trust and Ren gifted her a dog that she adored. Haruka finally began to open up. She grew close to Hotaru, another orphan, until one day he vanished without a trace. When she investigated, she found out that Ren was selling orphans to human traffickers. She overheard a conversation where they told Ren, that they wanted Haruka to be next. She snapped, again, feeling betrayed, and killed the human traffickers, but spared Ren and left together with the dog that Ren had given to her as a gift. Haruka lived on the streets for several years until the dog died of old age while she passed through the deserts of Sunagakure. Shortly after that she was found by Itachi and Kisame. Kisame was quite interested in her Kekkei-Genkai and decided to drag her along to Akatsuki. |

Haruka despises killing, but even so she took the opportunity to stay with the criminals in Akatsuki. She was searching for a new home and seemed to finally have found it. Convinced by Konan, Pain agreed to use her as henchman for their organisation and she gladly agreed.
One of her first orders was finding and recruiting Hidan. She was able to convince him to hear Akatsuki out and stayed on good terms with him.
She soon became friends with some of the Nuke-Nin as well, but was especially fascinated by Itachi. However, when she tried to get to know him better, he blocked or kept silent. Since Kisame doted on the girl, he made sure to keep her around much and torpedoed all tries of Itachi, to keep his distance to Haruka. It took a long time though until their relationship became better, until they fell in love.
Haruka wanted to help Itachi, especially she wanted to try to cure his sickness with her Kekkei-Genkai. However, she did not succeed before he was killed in a battle against his brother.
Kisame urged Haruka to leave Akatsuki afterwards. She obeyed, broken-hearted, and left.
She setteled in a small town in Ame-no-kuni, began to work as a medic like her mother and gave birth to twin boys, Tsubasa and Karas. She trained them to use her Kekkei-Genkai, but gave also lessons about the value of life their father taught her.
