Ankoku was the Kuchiyose of Kyoko, summoned for the first time when Kyoko was 6 years old. Impressed by Kyokos talent they formed a contract and Ankoku remained Kyoko's loyal ally until her death. After her summoner was gone, Ankoku kept on having an eye on Kyoko's daughter.

Ankoku is able to use Earth Ninjutsu and capable of using Transformation Jutsu. The big cats taught her to become a warrior, just like her brothers, and Ankoku is always ready to battle. She claims to dislike humans though she took a liking in Kyoko, Taiki and also their daughter. The death of her summoner saddened her deeply.

Since Haruka was unable to summon Ankoku for a long time due to her lack of Chakra, her mother sealed a bit of her own Chakra in Haruka before her death. With this Ankoku was able to save Haruka when she was attacked, but she had to wait for many, many years before Haruka was finally able to summon her on her own.
Ankoku likes the twins and often babysits them, even letting them calling her 'Auntie'.
