Lemuel grew up in poverty. His parents could barely provide enough food for their children, and as soon as he was old enough Lemuel took jobs to earn money for himself.
When the war began, he followed the army as they provided jobs in the area wherever they went.
One day he was employed by Nathaniel, who needed help with the wounded. Lemuel turned out to be talented and eager to learn, so Nathaniel took him under his wings.

Lemuel is a quiet and calm young teenager. He likes to be praised and does his best to fulfill each task he gets as perfect as he can. Although he is mostly only assisting Ariel and Nathaniel, he is nearly as skilled in medical aspects as they are.
When Ariel bet that they could sew back every organ perfectly, Lemuel cut out his heart to proof it. But when he sewed it back in the next day, his heart was replaced with a pig's heart.
With it, Lemuel became a nervous and easily scared person, being distracted easily.

After he came to the human's world, he found a solution for this problem: by hearing music he surrounds himself with sounds all the time, which frightenes him less.
