SUMMARY

Born to Struve and Gryzor as part of their first nest, Morfael is one of their older children. Quiet and more reserved than the rest of his siblings, Morfael was content to spend his time reading alone in the quiet. Over time he started to write and collect the stories of the clan, both the true history and their legends. As the clan grew, so did his duties as a librarian, and he learned basic ink magic. Sometimes mistaken for a shade infection, Morfael's ink magic is actually a rather weak and rare form of magic- and unfortunately only lends to his reputation as a somewhat intimidating dragon.

Morfael is now the sole keeper of the clan's library and history, a job that often keeps him busy. Somewhat intimidating for those who mistake his shyness for aloofness, Morfael fails to understand why so few take advantage of the clan's library. His closest friend is now the harpy scholar Laeralis, who works closely with him.

HISTORY

Unlike many of the dragons that make up clan Rivensong, Morfael has lived on the Welkin Isles his entire life. Born and raised there by his parents, and his siblings (including adopted sibling Titania). In the early days the islands were mainly quiet and largely empty, and his parents were often busy making their new home relatively safe. Morfael spent many hours exploring the corners of the ship's makeshift library, or listening to his parents tell stories.

As he grew older, and his siblings found their own places within the clan, Morfael decided to focus on his interests in stories. He began to copy down records of the clan's history, creating a narrative that could be shared with future generations. He also collected their legends and mythologies. While traditional wind storytelling is typical done through song, dance, or oration, Morfael diligently keeps a physical record of all of them as well.

A shy, quiet librarian, Morfael also often grows lonely. He is often mistaken for a more intimidating dragon than he really is, and thus has few friends. Beyond his family, his closest friend is Laeralis. The harpy quickly began to work with him after she came to the clan for her studies, and they grew close over their shared interests. One day, he hopes to be able to repay the favor and visit her flock.
