GRYZOR
The Keeper of the Guard - Clan Leader
SUMMARY
Gryzor is one of two founders of Clan Rivensong, and is still one of its current leaders. He holds the high council along with her mate, Struve. A jovial but experienced warrior, Gryzor is the face of the high council. Well beloved by the clan, Gryzor spends most of his time telling wild tales of past raids and battles with a mug of ale close by. Any who mistake his friendly and boisterous attitude for a lack of danger, however, may soon be caught off guard by Gryzor's fury.
A strong and battle-hardened warrior, Gryzor spends most of his time overseeing the clan's guard, exaltation, and raiding. In the early days of the clan, Gryzor would often go raiding alongside the crews, but now stays closer to home. While Gryzor is the more social of the two leaders, Struve does more of the work between the two. Neither of them mind this and Gryzor is content to support his wife. In battle, however, his physical prowess is unmatched. |
HISTORY
Born an orphan amongst a small clan of tundras, Gryzor was raised communally. They were a poor, underfed group who worked in the quarries and mines on the border between the Starfall Isles and the Windswept Plateau. He grew up mining deadly, poisonous magical ore on rickety scaffolding buffeted constantly by fierce winds for the sake of richer dragons. They were paid poorly and unfairly for their work. Something had to be done. Shortly after he came of age, Gryzor helped lead a revolution and first earned his mark as a warrior. He soon left and began working as a mercenary in the Windswept Plateau.
He met Struve when he was hired as a crewmate on the airship Rivensong. They both quickly grew closer, bonding over their shared wind heritage. While in the Sunbeam Ruins, however, they discovered that the captain was taking a powerful artifact known as the Eye of the Windsinger to the Daylight Sanctum. When the captain refused to listen to the crew's objections, Gryzor and Struve lead a mutiny. Commandeering the ship along with some friends, they eventually crashed on the Welkin Isles. There they decided to settle, naming their newfound clan after the ship, and shortly after they had their first nest- Morfael, Aurrunen, Marusya, and their adopted daughter Titania. A popular leader with a powerful personality, Gryzor spends most of his time among his clan. His social skills allow him to manage conflicts and keep a keen eye on how the clan is feeling. Alongside Struve's management skills, together they've managed to found and lead the clan to prosperity. Still, some part of Gryzor feels he is resting on his laurels- he longs for battle once more. With the recent appearance of the Omens, he may get his wish soon enough. |
