The Rosen Healer

SUMMARY

Born to Struve and Gryzor as part of their first nest, Marusya is one of their older children. Marusya was born with an extreme sensitivity to light, and so spent most time in cool, dark rooms, studying whatever took his fancy alongside his brother, Morfael. Marusya was drawn to the detailed medical texts, and soon sought out teachers who could instruct him on hands on techniques. Marusya therefore became the clan's main healer when he came of age.

Marusya is known as a skilled and gentle healer, with a kind bedside manner. Typically the clan deals with few health issues- broken bones, minor illnesses, or even a few battle wounds from raiding. Each and every day Marusya thanks the Windsinger for protecting his clan. Some part of him, though, fears that one day there may be something he isn't capable of dealing with.

HISTORY

Unlike many of the dragons that make up clan Rivensong, Marusya has lived on the Welkin Isles his entire life. Born and raised there by his parents, and his siblings (including adopted sibling Titania). In the early days the islands were mainly quiet and largely empty, and his parents were often busy making their new home relatively safe. Marusya spent many hours exploring at night, or playing with his siblings.

As he grew older, his interest in medicine grew, and he gained clutches of younger siblings, Marusya began to scout out a proper place to treat dragons of the clan. Slowly, over time, he built and stocked a proper medical center. He began healing for free, with the rest of the clan chipping in to keep the infirmary open. While other dragons, such as Arana, often help Marusya and can be seen around in the infirmary, usually Marusya can be found there alone.

A young, helpful, and friendly healer, Marusya often can't help but worry. The most difficult things he ends up treating are usually wounds from raiding, which rarely end up being life threatening. The seasons can be difficult, though, and on some level he knows that something larger is coming for the clan someday. All he can hope for is that when it does come, he will be able to save as many dragons as he possibly can.
