This event is based off of one of the old uses for Jack-o'-lanterns, which was to scare off spirits from homes on Halloween. The Shade may not be a spirit, but data from multiple experiments has shown that the all devouring being is scared silly by lit pumpkins(gourds)! So now armed with this knowledge, the easiest way to protect your lairs from the Shade Plague is to place a carved pumpkin or two right outside your door, and light a candle inside on fire! For clans who dislike, or can not carve pumpkins, there is an alternative of making something themed around pumpkins, which still scares the Shade silly! 1. Have a notecard/piece of paper with Username, Lair ID#, and date on it in front of your creation. For digital entries, you don't need a notecard/piece of paper, but please add the same information somewhere noticeable!
   
   
2. Participants can submit a total of two entries per portion of the event. Two in the carving portion, and two in the pumpkin themed creations portion. This rule does not mean that users can win twice in the same portion, you can only win once in each.
   
   
3. No bribing/ swaying the judges, you will be disqualified and not be allowed to re-enter.
   
   
4. Only submit something you’ve made yourself, do not take credit for another users creation. If you do try and claim another user’s entry/creation as your own, you will be disqualified and not be allowed to re-enter.
   
   
5. Have fun! Seriously, this is just for fun guys, you don't have to make anything super complicated c:
   
   
6. Judge's are allowed to join in by carving pumpkins/ making something themed around pumpkins, but their entry will not be able to win in any category.
   
   
7. If you're reading this, please re-read #1, because without it your entry won't be valid!
   
   
8. Entries must be within FR's TOS/R&Gs/Use Policies/House Rules.
   

• How well they follow a theme. That's it, it's that simple. So for example, with the theme "What in the Wyrm?" whichever entries seem to fit in the category will be voted on by the judges, and the most creative will be chosen.
