Vandereer is extremely lawful good. He won't even hurt a fly, and is considered a pure soul. (In my eyes, anyway.)

Perhaps ironic for a Ridgeback, Mikael's character basis is a detective who wants little more than what's right - which is usually literally the law, but he does make a few exceptions. He won't stand for those who misuse the law for malicious purposes, and he is VERY outspoken about his disdain for corruption. Bribes never work on him; the only way he'd help a lawbreaker is if he's absolutely forced to, somehow. That said, he has a few chaotic tendencies, and often defies social norms...but only if it's legal. His associates and coworkers refuse to be in a tavern with him because he'll try to make a move on all of them. Especially his married boss. His boss is not impressed with him (or his husband who fell for the flirting).[/columns]
