You are determined to discover why along with other willing teenagers in hopes of restoring magic. [center][size=7][font=Papyrus][b][color=Hotpink]Hierarchy[/color][/size][/font][/b][/center] [font=Papyrus][color=Deeppink][size=6]T[/size][size=5]he world of Sakura is ruled by a single emperor named Toshio Sato but in each section of the kingdom are different governors who have some power over that area and govern on behalf of the emperor. The majority of the public likes the emperor because he is a relatively kind individual however many do not like the governors and think that they are greedy and sinister. One in particular is named Kenji Tanaka who oversees the Bamboo Isles with a iron fist and a cruel demeanor. [center][size=7][font=Papyrus][b][color=Hotpink]Traditions and Culture[/color][/size][/font][/b][/center] [font=Papyrus][color=Deeppink][size=6]T[/size][size=5]he culture of Sakura resembles Japan in many ways including the way they dress, eat, and their architecture. Beautifully styled kimonos in all sorts of different colors are the common style in Sakura. A popular meal is meats companied with rice and vegetable they also eat fish quite often. One of the traditions in Sakura is to plant a Cherry Blossom in one’s backyard and to take careful care of it. Another tradition is once a year on the night of the full moon the whole kingdom celebrates magic and the mythical creature that reside in the world, special foods and trinkets are sold on this day especially in the capital. [center][size=7][font=Papyrus][b][color=Hotpink]Locations[/color][/size][/font][/b][/center][center][size=6][font=Papyrus][color=Hotpink]Cherry Fields[/color][/size][/font][/center] [font=Papyrus][color=Deeppink][size=6]T[/size][size=5]he Cherry Fields is the capital of Sakura where the majority of the population lives. Beautiful lakes weave through the city with red bridges and wooden boats that take people throughout it. The capital is mainly known for its gorgeous architecture and Cherry Blossoms that grow everywhere. Cherry Blossoms are seen as a symbol of beauty and peace revered by everyone and believed to have magical abilities. No governor rules over the capital. [center][size=6][font=Papyrus][color=Hotpink]The Palace[/color][/size][/font][/center] [font=Papyrus][color=Deeppink][size=6]T[/size][size=5]he Palace is located just outside the capital, it is vast and grand surrounded by a large wall. It is filled with beautiful gardens, a pristine school for the royals and nobles, and housing for servants and their families. The palace itself is beautifully decorated filled with art tapestries that hang from the walls everywhere you go. The furniture is carefully hand crafted and is its own work of art. While most nobles live in the capital some live within The Palace walls and grow up along side the royal family. [center][size=6][font=Papyrus][color=Hotpink]Bamboo Isles[/color][/size][/font][/center] [font=Papyrus][color=Deeppink][size=6]A[/size][size=5] rural fishing village by the ocean that helps to boost most of the kingdom’s economy. People who live here almost definitely make a living by fishing and while aren’t typically the richest live comfortably. One of the few magical creatures left, called the Akarui lives in the waters there. The only thing keeping the beautiful bamboo filled place from being near perfect is the governor who keeps the taxes high and has a sinister attitude. [center][size=6][font=Papyrus][color=Hotpink]Growing Gardens[/color][/size][/font][/center] [font=Papyrus][color=Deeppink][size=6]T[/size][size=5]he Growing Gardens is one of the largest locations in the kingdom and is almost completely untouched besides small farming villages that are scattered all over the place. Hundreds of different plants grow here and thrive. Beautiful mountains and waterfalls seem to reach to the sky and people say they occasionally see dragons although no one has enough evidence to prove they actually did. Most people who live here struggle to get by but always have enough money to put food on the table. The governor isn’t liked but is tolerated. [center][size=6][font=Papyrus][color=Hotpink]Sky Mountain Range[/color][/size][/font][/center] [font=Papyrus][color=Deeppink][size=6]V[/size][size=5]ery few people live here and those who do struggle to survive as wandering nomads. Despite no one living here people from all over the kingdom come to the mines in hopes of making a vast profit and temporarily live in mining camps. Vast caves are all over the mountains but they are far too dangerous for exploration. The governor pays not attention to the wandering nomads and only focuses on the mining camps. [center][size=7][font=Papyrus][b][color=Hotpink]Economy[/color][/size][/font][/b][/center] [font=Papyrus][color=Deeppink][size=6]T[/size][size=5]he money of the world is a medium sized leaf shaped token with a image of the emperor. How much the money is worth is shown off in color, the least amount being a copper color, next amount is silver, and the highest is gold. The social classes are very common. Nobles being the richest common folk, followed by the middle class, than the lower class. [center][size=7][font=Papyrus][b][color=Hotpink]Mythical Creatures[/color][/size][/font][/b][/center] [font=Papyrus][color=Deeppink][size=6]W[/size][size=5]hile your typical mythical creatures like dragons, unicorns, griffins, etc. exist in this world a few other creatures that are unique to the kingdom of Sakura also reside here. [center][size=6][font=Papyrus][color=Hotpink]Akarui[/color][/size][/font][/center] [font=Papyrus][color=Deeppink][size=6]T[/size][size=5]his whale sized koi like creature now only lives in the oceans by the Bamboo Isles. These creatures have control over water but unfortunately do indeed have the brain of your average fish. Many have tried to fish them in the past but because of their control over water it is incredibly deadly and near impossible. [center][size=6][font=Papyrus][color=Hotpink]Haruto[/color][/size][/font][/center] [font=Papyrus][color=Deeppink][size=6]T[/size][size=5]he Haruto are a dog like creature that have large bat wings stretching up from their back. These are the only mythical creature left that is common place and even sold as your average pet. Harutos come in different breeds much like regular dogs with abilities ranging from fire control to water manipulation. Unlike the Akarui they are very smart and are believed to be almost as intelligent as people. [center][size=6][font=Papyrus][color=Hotpink]Akiha[/color][/size][/font][/center] [font=Papyrus][color=Deeppink][size=6]A[/size][size=5]kiha appear as what looks like a cross between a cat and a fox. With three cat like tails and body but the face of a fox they are truly a odd looking creature. Along with that they have crystals sprouting all over their body, the colors depend on the Akiha but they can range from blues and greens to pinks and purples. They have infinite wisdom and are known as cave guides however they are incredibly rare and only live in caves around the mountains. [center][size=6][font=Papyrus][color=Hotpink]Chikara[/color][/size][/font][/center] [font=Papyrus][color=Deeppink][size=6]T[/size][size=5]he Chikara are a interesting species and were viewed as pests when they were plentiful in numbers. Their appearance looks as if you combined a bird and a monkey together, instead of forearms they have wings but their hind legs look like regular monkey legs. They have a face of a monkey but a beak instead of a regular mouth, and to top it all off they have a long colorful tail that trails behind them. Chikara are creatures of trickery and are very clever, no one is quite sure where they all went, one day they simply vanished as if they never even existed. A small smile was on her face as she walked through the gardens. She had managed to sneak out without her bodyguards knowing and was now enjoying her quiet walk. As she neared the end of the stone path she arrived at a fountain with a Cherry Blossom hanging over it. She sat down and waited patiently for her beloved Haruto to arrive. After a little while Brute finally arrived her satchel in his mouth, slobber flying everywhere as he ran over.
“Thanks Buddy!”
She took the slobbery satchel out of his mouth and pulled out one of many pieces of paper. She placed the paper back in the satchel before standing up.
“Ready to go distribute these Brute?”
Her Haruto barked and wagged his little tail in response flaring his wings everywhere.
“Let’s get going than!”
Together they ran/flew over to the wall, Brute flew over top and helped to pull Mayu up over it as well. She dusted herself off and began putting the papers up everywhere. Finally when she was done she walked over to a shop where loud squawking could be heard, when she walked inside a large number of loud birds were instantly visible. She walked over to a man running the shop and placed down 5 gold leaflets. Her voice was quiet and she kept her head bowed.
“I want to get these sent all over the kingdom, think you can do that?”
The man’s eyes seemed to bulge out of his skull before quickly taking the money and the papers.
“I can definitely do that for you miss.”
Smiling happily she slowly headed home watching happily as people noticed her papers.
I hope they don’t think it’s weird or impossible...
She was almost home when about 4 guards ran up to her.
Oh no...
“PRINCESS MAYU THERE YOU ARE.”
Quickly she folded her hands neatly and forced her smile to become a expressionless composure.
“Do not worry for I am safe.”
While her voice was quiet it seemed to hold no emotion, just like she had been taught.
“The emperor wants you home, he’s worried sick.”
Sighing she nodded and Brute whimpered disappointed as they headed home.

Mari

She had just finished up a training session with her spear and had put it on her back. As she walked out, she noticed and odd flyer that read:

She smiled to herself as she said quietly, "Magic huh? My parents always tell me that they think I've got a bit ever since I snapped like that and my eyes changed color..." She trailed off a bit as she decided that she would stop by her house and let her parents know were she was going before heading out to the capital from the Bamboo Isle.

Mari stopped by her home and knocked on the door. Her mom answered it and said, "Hello there dear, what’s got you home so early?"
Mari replied, "Mom, I'm going to the capital to see about a meeting for magic... It seemed interesting."
Her mother smiled and said, "Alright then darling, you go have fun!"
Mari nodded and said, "I will mom!" She then started walking towards the capital as a swift pace so that she would be there by sundown.

Solaris & Luna

Solaris had been outside playing while his sister was inside helping their mother with something when he found one of the flyers and picked it up and ran back inside shouting, "Luna! Come look at what I found! You’re never gonna believe it!"

Luna ran over to see what her brother was yelling about and when she saw what was in his hand about squealed as she said, "Are we going? I really wanna go!"

Solaris nodded and said, "I'll just leave this flyer her so that mom and dad know where we are, they'll understand why we left so suddenly... And I've always wanted to pursue the family legend about the sun and the moon."

Luna nodded enthusiastically as she and her brother started walking towards the southern bridge to wait for sundown.

Silver was silently weaving, like she always did. She felt vibrations from the floor and looked up. The man traced something in her open palm.
You - Take - break
The girl nodded and stood up. The man left, and she slowly walked out of the hut. She sat next to a small pond.


Sol (I just realized her name is similar to Solaris oops) had snuck away from her farmwork and was trying to climb a tree. She saw something fluttering in the distance and ran over. It was a flyer. She read it, grinning.
She knew what she was doing today.
She folded up the flyer and started running towards the southern bridge.

Seishi dragged something out behind his buddies house and down the steps that lead to the basement. The basement was where he had been living for quite sometime and it was the only place he was certain no one else would go. The thing he dragged was pretty big and it took a second for him to be able to pick it up and put it on the metal table that sat in the rooms center. He took a wire brush from a shelf and brushed off the dirt that covered the thing. Once clean it was clear to see that the thing was the neighbors haruto that died last week and he dug up this morning. He had been waiting for it to pass, he had yet to find an intact haruto skeleton. He would have to steal its bones later, he was out of a chemical he needed.

Seishi walked out of the dimly lit basement and onto the street, on his way to the general store. While walking he saw something stuck to post. It was a flyer and he scoffed when reading it. Sure he would go but he did not expect that they would be finding anything. Eh, if things go well or horribly wrong he'll have some specimens to take home.

His father had sent him to check up on a special delivery in one of their shops and now he was making his way back when a flyer caught his eyes. If there was someone in the city who knew something about magical arts then he better go check it out. Even if the gathering turned out to be a hoax or scam he could use the information in one way or the other. [i][b]"I'm sure father and mother won't mind waiting for me a bit longer."[/b][/i] he mused to himself as he steared his steps towards the Southern Bridge. He intended to have a cup of tea at the tea house close by as he waited for the sun to set. If luck was at his side he might even get the nice table under the sakura tree. [/columns]

Ellie yawned and stretched as the sun hit her eyes. She liked sleeping in alleys, since they always waked her up naturally around the middle of the day, when the sun was highest and could reach through into the thin crack between buildings.
She got up, dusted herself off, and peeked around the corner of the alley to see if anyone was there. No one was looking her way so she slipped out on silent feet.
She began to walk down the street, keeping her nose peeled for somewhere she could grab a bite when she noticed a few people gathered around and looking at... Something. Most of them glanced before shrugging and walking off.
She ran over to where a couple was reading something pinned on a wooden post. She inched slowly around them to get a view of what they were looking at, to a few haughty huffs from the woman before the couple left.
Ellie stared at the flyer for a second, reading it over and over again. She tore it off and read it once more, just to be sure.
Should I...? Do I dare? she wondered.
She hadn't been asking for it, but some small strange voice in her head said yes. A strange fiery feeling in her chest seemed to light up for just a moment before dying back down to the smallest embers.
Well, I know what I'll be doing tonight then, she thought with a smile before turning and running off to find some food to steal.

She sat stiffly with a plain expression and staring straight ahead as her father got onto her for going outside the palace walls.
“You know how dangerous it is for you to be out there! What if something happened and your guards weren’t there to help?!”
Her expression remained emotionless despite wanting to argue back.
“My apologies father.”
Her father sighed and continued on.
“You know I only do this to protect you, bad people want to do bad things to us and it’s very dangerous.”
She turned to look at him and her composure wavered.
“But no one knows what I look like, how could they know it’s me?”
Her father stood from his thrown and stepped down the stairs, he placed a hand on her shoulder.
“Your just going to have to trust that I know what’s best for you.”
She nodded but clinched a fist.
“Yes father.”
She stood up and left headed straight for her bedroom. Brute was asleep on a velvety dog bed and instantly woke up when she walked in his tail wagging.
“Hello Brute, did you find the cloak?”
Brute stood up his tail wagging harder to reveal a black cloak that looked a little worn.
“Thanks Brute, that’s perfect.”
Her Haruto ran over and licked her chin.
“If we manage to get enough people to join us, tonight we run away.”
The idea of adventure both thrilled and scared her. She held up her pointer finger before lightly booping his nose.
“We must not let them know who I am, understood?”
Brute licked her chin again and she giggled rubbing his ears.
“Good boy.”

Haruyuki was bundling up another crop of rice when he noticed a bird flying over to the village. They got the news for the week already so what was this? He adjusted his tasuki and then walked over the fluttering bird. It seemed he wasn't the only one interested in it, though most people just walked away after looking at whatever it was. He scanned the flyer, tilting his head slightly. Rediscovering magic? The southern bridge at the capital... Where was that even? The only other place he's been was probably the Bamboo Isles.

No, that wasn't true. When his father was alive, he would take Haruyuki to the capital for the yearly full moon festival. He still remembered it, the brilliant pink trees and the bustling streets. His father's hand holding his and the rabbit yukata finally being worn, just for this one occasion. He would be big enough to wear that yukata by now. Haruyuki took the flyer, then patting the bird on the head.

"Thanks for your hard work," He said, before turning back to his shoddy house and starting to pack what little he had.
