:Tia's Diary:
Bounty of the Elements

Day 1. Dear Diary, you can never guess who I met today. Grandma Ventara! Turns out she is living here in The Beacon of the Radiant Eye as well. We met by chance when I was out scavenging with Eleuthera and we invited her over for dinner. She told us all about her new life here and got to hear about your quest as well. Unfortunally she didn't know of anything like what we are searching after, but she promised to ask her new clan's scribe about it when she returned.

During our dinner we got another unexpected guest. It was Tempeste, my harpy friend. She had been asked to deliver a message to us from the Clan back home in Winter's Bay. She told us that the messanger ravens wouldn't have been strong ebough to survive the flight. It appears that the Southern Icefields has been hit with unusually strong blizzards these past couple of weeks. Ships along the coastline have had a rough time getting safely to port in the strong winds. The Kitsune has decided to keep the lighthouse lit all day rather just for the dark hours. I hope the weather settles back to normal before we sail back... Well, at least I got to see Tempeste again! And better yet, she is staying here with us until we go back again!! I'm so happy~ She told me that she knows the hapries that live in a roost neaby so she'll ask them to let her stay there for now.

Day 2. Dear diary, today was another eventful day. We were out on our daily exploration, this time in an underground hall with crumbling pillars. As we walked the ground suddenly began to shake. Not much but still noticable. Since light dragonflight isn't exactly know for its earthquakes we were afraid that some of the more damadged pillarns would fall down so we left the hall as quickly as we could. However, as we apporached the stairs back up another quake hit us. This one more powerful than the previous one. A stone the size of a fae fell from the ceiling and landed on Yoake's tail! That must have hurt real bad... We got Seriadne to give her tail a look and she assured us that nothing was broken, but she would get a rather nasty bruies. I wounder why the earth shook so? Is something going on here? Syrena has also been acting a little stranger than usual today. She spent more than five hours looking at her pearl memories today. Is she trying to remeber something important?

After settling into their new life in Winter's Bay, Tia spent her days with her beloved birds. The messenger ravens she raised grew stronger than normal ravens thanks to her love and care. Something was missing from her daily life however. Fayrn.

She had gotten used to him being next to her after all the time they had spent together in the Sunbeam Ruins. She missed his presence. After they had arrived in the icy lands it became clear that he was extremly sensitive to the cold. His body lost heat quickly, to the point of it only taking a matter of minutes for his temerature to drop to dangerous levels.

He had found a temporary sullotion in staying inside the everwarm greenhouse or the blazing forge, but he couldn't walk around freely like the rest of them.

Solace had been tasked with finding a way for him to go outside, but the progress was slow.

...

A familiar voice had greeted her. Turning around she found herself face to face with Fayrn. Or at least, she was pretty sure it was Fayrn. His body and wings had changed in color, his mane had gone from a vibrant blue to a snowy white. There were ice-like markings running along his wings, reminding her of rimfrost on a tree branch. He looked very different. But his kind, green eyes had stayed the same. As had the gentle smile that he had when he spoke to her.

She found herself running over to him, nearly crashing into him in her excitment to greet him. She felt happier than she had in months. Now they could finally be together again.

Shortly after their reunion she had gathered up enough courage to ask him the question that had been swirling in her mind ever since the day he was forced to stay inside the greenhouse. If he would be her mate. He had been silent for a bit, making her nervous at first, before hugging her tightly and telling her he had been planning to ask her the same thing. They held their Bond Ceremony the following month, just in time for spring. Fayrn moved into the messenger post with her and started to work in the post office. They were very happy.

As the seasons changed, Tia once more felt like something was missing from her life. She just had a hard time figuring out what it was she felt she lacked. She had a lovely home with a mate that loved her as much as she loved him, she got to work with the thing she was passionet about and life was good. So what could it be? Then, one day when she was feeding her ravens she saw one of her pairs feeding their growing chicks and it hit her. Children! She longed for children! It became clear that she longed for a child to call her own, to raise together with her mate and the clan. She imagined a son or daughter running around playing with the birds or sleeping currled up to Fayrn infront of their fireplace back home. Realising that they had never discussed the topic of children before she began to worry about his thoughts about it.

She knew that he already had three grown children, something that she had learned early on back in the days when she had first met him. She wasn't bothered by the fact at all, more than anything she had admired him for his dedication to his offspring. It had let her know what a caring dragon he was and honestly had been one of the reasons she had started to like him more. He was a kind father to his children, that she knew. But would he want to have more children? Was starting a family something that he would to do considering how his former childhood love had left him alone as soon as the eggs were laid? Worry and doubt clouded her mind and she went home that day with a heavy heart.

Fayrn knew right away that something was troubling her when she walked into the post office. He had asked her if something had happened, to which she said that she needed to talk to him about something later that evening. After closing hours the pair settled into their cabin and laid infront of the fireplace like they used to do every evening. Fayrn hadn't pressed her for details or tried to push her to talk, something that she loved about him. So she felt like she needed to come clean about her desire to him.

She told him everything. About her wish for children, about how she didn't know if he would want it. About how she was scared of if perhaps she too would be an awful mother and abandon her children. She felt her frustratiion turn into tears as she poured her heart out to her mate, all while he listened closely to what she had to say. Once she was done speaking her embraced her, his arms taking a firm grasp around her as he purred reasuringly. He told her over and over how much he loved her, how much he would love to start a family together with her and how she would be an amazing mother. As it turned out, he had been wanting children ever since they officially became mates, but didn't want to presure her into anything she wasn't ready for. Now that she had told him that she too longed for children of their own he felt nothing but joy. Happiness and antisipation for the next chapter in their life.

Not long after the talk, Tia and Fayrn visited the nesting chambers to make a reservation for a nest. They welcomed two little eggs into the world and spent the next couple of weeks together with them in the secure chambers. The midwife visited them daily to keep an eye on the progress. She made sure both Tia and Fayrn had everything they needed during their stay. Tia was surprised to find that both her and Fayrn seemed to be very calm about the nesting. She had heard about first time parents being overprotective of their eggs, almost to the point of not wanting to sleep or eat in case something would happen to them. Perpahs it was the fact that Fayrn had done this before, or that he already had an air of calm around him that rubbed off on her, but she felt safe with him and with their eggs. She would sing songs to the little treasures and she laid curled around them, softly patting their hard shells. Oh how she longed for them to hatch...
