• Nephrus
  Your guide to the betweenlands, Neph is an odd tiefling who isn’t from the betweenlands, though he had been stuck here for a few months. A paranoid nervous wreck, Neph wants a place to belong, whether that is with this group in the betweenlands or in his home realm.
• Anastasia Louise Agapidis
  Although Ana is only thirteen, she’s got just as much spunk and magical skill as anyone else in the group, if not more. She can be bossy and stubborn at times, but she can also be pretty kind and funny when she wants to be. She’s extremely powerful which means she’s often on quests, but she loves the exploring and adventure. However, she only likes quests she was prepared for, and this was not one of them. Her goal in the Betweenlands is to get home as fast as possible.
• Timothy Perryton
  A hotheaded ghost known for his brash nature, he was taken from his home in the Manor against his will. He just wants to go home and resume his normal life, hopefully not dying again in the process
• Lydia Ainsley
  Lydia is an emotionally-driven magic user, whose ability of nature control tends to get her noticed pretty quickly by the Hunters of her world. Used to a life on the run, she just wants to get home, and maybe yell at her half-brother Theo, who she seems to blame for her being in the Betweenlands.
• Vanir Forrester
  Vanir is just your average human with a bow who was thrust into yet another adventure against his will. He would never admit it, but he feels almost weak next to all of the magic users and wielders of strange technology that wound up on his quest with him. Right now, he just wants to move forward and hopefully make it back to his own world, although he can’t think of a good reason why. Even if he hadn’t been swept up into the Betweenlands, he knows that he surely would die soon anyway thanks to the wars enveloping his kingdom. So why should he even bother?
• Ashley Mortikai
  Ashley, otherwise known as Cyina, is a young Dra-la that left her adoptive tribe in search of a getaway. Yet was sucked into the Betweenlands. She cannot control her fire magic, but makes up for this with her natural agility and stealth. She’s definitely a sight for those not from her world, with large scale patches the color of a sunset coating her entire back and a long, thin black tail. Don’t let her motherly attitude fool you! She can become vicious quickly!
• Vyx
  Vyx is driven by greed and the rush of outsmarting an enemy or stealing something from right under their nose. This mirror dragon is from a place of eternal darkness and feels exposed and vulnerable out in the light of this new place. Vyx's main goal is to return back home, but not without taking a few things of value from the Betweenlands.

• Acacia Arvida
  Acacia is a female ridgeback who is a natural born leader and a single mother of two. Another pawn in this chaotic game of chess, she has come from an alternate universe where the undead have taken over the Flight Rising world with only her and her camp, Camp Curala, between it and the rest of the Windswept Plateau. Having lost her husband to dark group of criminals and then watching so many families fall to the same gruesome fate, she has decided it is time to protect more than just her children and step up to become a leader in these trying times. Now lost in the Inbetweenland, she will now join a new group and hope to help them along to escape this chaotic land and back to their homes where they belong.... for all of their sakes.
• Bluejay Cardinal
  Bluejay is a lovable, daredevil dummy that knows the skies like no other. This chipper male ridgeback's wings are as big as his heart and his dedication to his career as an Arial Guard. After perfecting his own fighting style and utilizing it to defend those who cannot yet defend themselves he will now help the strangers around him so they can get to where they need to go. He will explore the Inbetween and chart out the ever-changing environment to help spread the awareness of this mysterious world. That is... if they all make it out intact.
• Kate Andra Lewis
  Katie is a cheerful, musical girl who wants to make some friends and get home. She is eager to meet new people, but is nervous about accidentally erasing someone's memories. Still, she is determined to be friendly and have fun.
• Raith Runestone
  Raith is a lost and abandoned wizard who has found a purpose in the same clan as Bluejay's, the Azurewinds clan. Not dwelling in the past and only looking for the future he has studied and perfected his magical craft and expanded his knowledge of all things unnatural. Now lost in these lands he can help solve puzzles that are in their way so they may return back home to where they belong. It's a wonder that anybody has decided to live in the in-between.
• Thassius
  Thass is a Mucrid known for his loud personality, and his thieving talents. He can also control fire, which he doesn't mind showing off. His goal? Find a cure for his good friend Raz, while avoiding humans as much as possible.

Neph was on the central island patrolling the boarder, carefully watching the void and his surroundings, after all you never knew what was lurking in the dark. After carefully checking three times Neph breathed a sigh of relief, the island was safe for now. He looked up at the strange purple sky. How long has it been... Three months? Neph sighed, kicking a rock. He looked back down at the ground... which was ow shaking. Panicking, Neph looked up. The whole island was shaking, a strange light coming from the central building. He ran inside and hide behind one the pillars.

Sprawled on the floor were people, and creatures, he had never seen before. Did... Did the betweenlands take more? He fearfully looked at the group again. That means the landscape will change again... Which means more challenges. Although, maybe we'll be able to escape with a large enough group... Neph continued watching, peeking from behind the pillar, knowing that he couldn't be seen.

Kate was lying on the ground. After a minute, she stirred, groggily opening her eyes.
"Mphhh...errrgh...h-huh?" She rolled onto her back, rubbing her eyes.
"Huh?" Slowly, she got to her feet, looking around. She squinted, trying to figure out where she was.
What happened? Where am I? Did I make myself forget something? Are there people here?
Her clothes were wrinkled and her hair messy, but she looked friendly. And confused.
Very confused.

Tim stirred slightly, not noticing that anything had changed since that burning room had clouded his sleeping vision. It wasn't too different from his usual dreams, mainly consisting of nightmares and past memories which were often one in the same.

"Why is it always fire?" He mumbled, a drowsy and slightly irritated tone stumbling out from his mouth seemingly accidentally. He was not going to be happy when he woke up.

Ana twitched. The last thing she could remember was being swallowed by the void. Seeing nothing. Feeling nothing. Being nothing.
And screaming.
Or trying to scream.
Whatever it was, she was glad it was over now. Her wings shifted slightly and she thought she felt them hit something. Something soft but also hard, like a head with lots of hair.
She realized she wasn't alone in thai room, and with a bit of her remaining strength she shifted to a cat, then a human, still not opening her eyes.
She didn't want know what she'd find.

Kate yelped, ducking.
"Owwwww!" She moaned as she stepped back. When she looked up, she could see the shapeshifter who had hit her.
Oh! Someone else! Great!
"Hello?" She called, raising an eyebrow. She looked around, still a little groggy.

Vyx opened his eyes only to immediately close them. The light of his new surroundings hurt to look at. 'What is this place? Why is it so bright?' he thought. Perhaps his target had used some kind of magic? Slowly, he opened his eyes, letting them get used to the light.

Wherever this was, it wasn't home. That was one thing he now knew for certain.

Tim heard a woman speaking, something he vaguely associated with a newcomer. Sitting up rather irritably, he opened his eyes at last. This... wasn't Apsendale. Why wasn't he in bed? It has to be a dream. Just a dream, that's it. He was still asleep, and he would surely be woken up soon. He had to be.

Looking around cautiously, he didnt quite see why they were so upset. They were all figments of his imagination afterall. But then why did he feel so tired? You aren't supposed to feel tired in a dream.

Oh well, he'd best speak to them before he got pushed off of the island thingy by one of these dream people. "Hi."

Ana squeezed her eyes even tighter, trying to block out the light. It was giving her sore head a migraine.
Her arms were sore from trying to fly so fast away from the void. She decided it was best to just lie still for now.
She wondered if she could turn into a cat and no one would notice. Then she could be picked up and possibly cooed over and she wouldn't have to get up herself. She did it quick, hoping no one would notice. One second she was a girl lying in the corner, the next she was a sad little ball of fur.
