Darling, whatever made you believe I wasn't a monster?

@Ebanon nice!!!! okay cool uh heres a little lore thing: (For simple reasons this man is named Eddie) ----- Your eyes blink open and are filled with ash and soot, you spring up and claw at your eyes, you don't know why it hurts so much to see. The land around you is made of coal and embers, a wasteland you don't understand or know. As you try and move you start to become painfully aware that this body isn't yours, in a sense, you just know that you weren't always a dragon. Your head turns to the north, somewhere in your head you know that's where Nature dragons live, you want to say the call of your charge is pulling you there but you know it's not, your gut tells you your charge is long gone. Long lost and destroyed. You take to the sky and fly out and above the wasteland below, a part of you feels sad, you don't know why you can't even remember what the land below you is called. You find sanctuary among the tall jungle trees, careful not to burn any of them down with your fire. You feel safer here, just a bit though, but that strange feeling draws you in deeper into the wood. You can see the shapes of dragons above and in the brush, some stopping to look at you while others pass by without a second thought. You stop in your tracks when a Wildclaw dragon darts out into the path in front of you, staring at you. An impossible number of Nature eyes stare at you, she doesn't look mad, you can't really tell though. "You Eddie?" She asks, "Eve said someone looking like you was named Eddie." "My, name's Eddie," You say, "I don't, think I know an Eve? Sounds familiar though..." The Wildclaw says something else but you get lost in thought, trying to remember why that name is so familiar. "Hey, Hey Eddie?" You look back at the Wildclaw, "Uh, yeah, what?" The Wildclaw rolls her eyes, "You wanna come and see Eve? You might recognize her. Name's Delia by the way." Delia, that name sounds familiar too, but you just nod your head and follow Delia down the path into the heart of the jungle. The clan you enter is called "Clovergate" Delia tells you, you pass through a large gate made of shamrocks, and Delia leads you to a small almost park-like clearing. You see a Skydancer and a Coatl in the clearing, both look at you and both seem to recognize you. The Coatl springs up and throws her wings around you, "Eddie!" Every part of you wants to throw her off and ask her why she did that, but you don't, the hug feels familiar in away. When she lets go of you all you can do is look at her in confusion, "You're, Eve." The Coatl nods and her smile falters slightly, "And you don't super remember me do you?" You shake your head, it hurts and you don't know why. "That's okay, Ed," Eve says, trying to smile wide but she is obviously hurt, "Starkid here thinks that something happens to us and its makin' our memories a little wonky! It'll be okay!" You know that the last line is just to reassure herself.

@ClockworkEclipse

Here we go! It's a bit rough because this was the most I've written in years. Thank you all so much for the opportunity, I'm so happy to feel inspired to write again! (There's no name in the text because I'd like to have one of my current dragons do the naming. And I'm making the dragon genderless which is why I use it pronouns.)

Soft humming fills the air, the wild beat of tiny wings, hummingbird-fast. For a moment nothing appears to inhabit this patch of land, an are at the western tip of The Gladekeeper's lands. It takes patience- and more than a bit of time- to see the tiny, Coatl automaton. With finely detailed, little hands it grasps a flower, curiously poking its blunt muzzle in only to withdraw a moment later, huffing, face stained with pollen. Its segmented neck joints whir slightly as the Coatl tries to shake off the clinging particles, doing little more than smudging it further into its shiny, metal plating.

A bird calls and the robot's attention is immediately stolen away. Tiny, partially-sighted eyes narrow curiously, but vision is not the little Coatl's strong suit, it will have to investigate further. Transluscent and Rose-colored, its wings carry the Coatl towards the sound, zipping to it with frantic, simulated excitement.

The programs within the Coatl's metallic skull grind to a confused halt for a moment as it nears the treeline. There, mostly hidden beneath long, draping leaves, something fleshy is pulsing. Waiting. Breathing.

Of course, a tiny robot has no need of fears, or apprehensions the way a flesh and bone dragon does so it simply darts beneath the leaves, head tilting at the mass, its bulk easily many times the Coatl's size. There is no information within the Coatl's code to offer any illumination on this strange occurence, it is only vaguely aware of the ways in which Sornieth is divided and the creatures that inhabit these places. It certainly knows nothing about a growing clan in The Plaguelands.

The mass splits down the center with no warning, causing the Coatl to jump slightly where it hovers in the air. When the fresh slice parts, bloodless but vicious, it reveals a glistening, gold eye, slit with black. The pupil rolls to fix directly on the tiny Coatl and, for a moment, everything stops. The gentle rustle of breeze is silent, distant chirpings snuffed out, even the rustle of leaves overhead stills entirely.
The eye does not speak, but the Coatl hears its direction regardless. The Plaguelands. Somewhere to the west, he is being called, to a strange clan that the very fabric of reality detests.

With new purpose the Coatl zips toward the horizon, the setting sun gilding its wings sanguine and gold.

The eye watches it for a moment, then seems to heave a great breath, before closing and melting away. Only grass and dirt is left in its wake, no one will know it was ever here.
