I'm even more invisible than before? Oh, what mischief shall I get up to first. Hmmm. Oh, I know. There's that boring old imperial who spends his day doing science stuff. How about if first I switch the salt for the sugar when he goes to make his coffee? I think he makes coffee anyway. Someone drinks coffee, and I don't care who it is!" He switches the salt and the sugar. "And what else? Oh! There's that picky eater fae down the road. She eats bugs, but only if they are blue, purple, or black! Let's switch them for green bugs. See how she handles that! Heh heh heh." "Hmm. And there's that cook at the Mage School. Shall I mess up her cooking? Nah! She's messed it up so badly already without my help. I'll just leave her to it."

A dragon named Toothbrush says. That's what she gets for drinking random potions that just fall out of nowhere. She wonders if this is permanent. Honestly it's been so long since she acted without thinking, it's not like her. Must be due to the new year. Her new ghost friend tells her to mess up someone's lunch and she's got nothing else to do since she's, well, a ghost. Maybe they can help her after she humours them. There is someone she's been wanting to get back at for a while. This is her chance. It looks like she can still move things, so she carefully heads for the kitchens that belong to another Imperial. She recalled that her old friend, Xin, likes certain spices to go with his seafood. She finds a Painted Clay Pot and adds some Primary Pigment Blend to it. It's harmless, but it will turn Xin's tongue into a weird colour. Perhaps that will keep him from speaking for a while. Feeling a little bit petty, she rearranged some ingredients just for the fun of it. Being a ghost might not be so bad.

A kitchen just so happened to be where Dusklight spent most of her time. Jinx could never have snuck his way in normally - he'd tried. He zipped off eagerly. Jinx poked his head through the ceiling. No one in sight just yet... just a pot boiling on a stove and some ingredients nearby. Some sort of prickly pear syrup, probably. Almost certainly sweet... Jinx started searching through cupboards. He didn't know what most of these ingredients even were. For some reason, Dusklight apparently didn't label her jars. Finally, he opened one and sniffed it. Oh! Oh that was spicy. It would sure be a shame if he were to tip half the jar into the syrup pot... A small cloud of the powder puffed up as he dropped it in. Jinx wrinkled his snout, finished pouring - and then turned his head away from the pot to sneeze loudly. He may be ruining someone's cooking, but he wasn't going to be a Plague dragon about it. It was too much noise, though! Jinx heard heavy footsteps coming close. He shoved the jar back in the cabinet, not bothering to cork the jar or close the door, and darted away the way he'd come. Dusklight would probably know what he'd done - but hopefully she wouldn't guess who had done it.

She then shrugs. What's the worst that could happen? She takes a swig of the bottle and blinks in surprise. She feels shivers go over her back as she hears echoing laughter from behind her. She swings her head around, trying to find the source of the sound. When she turns back to the front, she can see a translucent figure in front of her...a ghost. She lifts her hand and is shocked to find it is also translucent. Turns out that potion did do something, after all. The ghost then gives her a task. To find some food. Well, she figures that should be easy enough. Why start questioning things now? At least she has a direction to go. Delta sets down in an apple orchard after flying for about half an hour. She can see a pearlcatcher collecting raspberries from a row of bushes across the field. She stealthily creeps up to the trees, knowing that the pearlcatcher would likely just see her as some wind moving the branches, and plucks a couple of fruits from its boughs. She feels a little guilty but knows that the pearlcatcher will likely not tell any difference. And, anyway, appeasing these ghosts are the only way they're going to tell her how to turn back. So she doesn't really have an option.

Not really sure what she was doing up there, but why not be a ghost in an attic, she thought. Oh, or a ghost in the kitchens. Why not! With a flutter of her wings she drifted into the cooking chambers, avoiding whatever experiments were going on in the more dangerous corners and heading for the pantry. She'd never understood why some dragons didn't seem to be interested in the wonderful selections of insect meal available to the clan, so maybe today was the day to get them to give it a try. A little beetlewing in the mixed seeds and nut jar, a little dried grub in the jerky, some spiders in with the crabs in the cold tanks. Crabs were just ocean spiders anyway, who would even notice. Done! She dusted off her claws and drifted back out to see what else was going on while she waited for the lunch hour to arrive.

This time it's Razael keeping his own husband calm as the ghost explains that they'll be helping with petty crime. Look, I love a good prank, but come on. There's a literal god hunting us down! Maybe we shouldn't do crimes? Uriel is a little surprised by Oku's statement, if only because he knows the Wildclaw has stolen a lot in the past just to mess with his partner. He does expect Razael's own agreement, however, knowing the Coatl would much prefer to hide away until this is all over. Then the ghost gives them their task, after some reassurances that a little petty theft will be just fine. "Nab something shiny of theirs." Uriel practically sees Razael's eyes light up like a will o wisp, clearly having someone in mind already. The ghost has hardly vanished before the fox-like Pearlcatcher hears the two pipe up in unison, finally hearing a distinct difference between the two. She has a great many baubles and trinkets, hoarding anything gold like an Akirbeak hoards eggs. Many Grand Scholars have lost pieces to her thieving ways, but these two had always had something personal with the Mirror. Uriel never really did figure out what it was, but they were always snippy with each other. They'd intrude on classes, steal work from each other, and even start rumors in Izari's case. The Coatl was sifting through some books, hoping to find a stash carved into a false one. He may hate the practice, but he admits it is definitely useful. Okuraz takes a more direct approach, using his talons to toss everything about. So what if he doesn't find anything? Messing up her room works just fine too! Soon enough, the couple are bickering over where Izari could've hidden some of her gold stash. Uriel takes the opportunity to tidy some, feeling bad for the Mirror. He opens a drawer to put some cloth away, only to freeze. There, in the top drawer, is a locket. It's shiny, it's made of gold, and it's one he recognizes all too well. That locket was given to the Grand Scholar Belial by her ex, Chamuel. He doesn't even hesitate when he snaps it up, scowling. Uriel's about to tell the others they had their shiny when the three hear a shrill cry from the doorway, cutting him off. He doesn't have much of a chance to react before Izari lunges, scrabbling at him and the locket. She's saying something about it floating when it shouldn't when she suddenly flickers into transparency, just like Raz and Oku. For a moment there's silence. Just a moment of peace, and then... Did you just die of anger? Uriel can't even tell which one of them spoke up, but the two from before seem amused as the Mirror whips around to glare at them, teeth bared. Uriel takes the opportunity to stow the locket away, vowing to return it to Belial later. He then snatches some random golden bangles instead, hoping that'll do for their ghostly companion as Izari proceeds to curse at the other two. The Pearlcatcher feels thankful that he's technically a ghost right now as he tries to wipe off the residue of the potion which, he thinks at least, might be the actual culprit to Izari's newly spectral nature. Did he even have the blood flow to be capable of blushing at those choice words she has for the couple? He doesn't want to know. He just knows things have gotten much more difficult. Uriel wakes to the ghost from before talking about his prank. He's not the only one confused about a Shrek, seeing as Oku won't stop asking. Razael, meanwhile, is busy asking what a "gangster kneel thing" is to the ghost. Uriel manages to calm them down, letting the ghost continue. He regrets it almost immediately when he hears about the Icewarden's ghost hunt.

"Nab something shiny of theirs."

Uriel practically sees Razael's eyes light up like a will o wisp, clearly having someone in mind already. The ghost has hardly vanished before the fox-like Pearlcatcher hears the two pipe up in unison, finally hearing a distinct difference between the two.

Did you just die of anger?

Uriel can't even tell which one of them spoke up, but the two from before seem amused as the Mirror whips around to glare at them, teeth bared. He just knows things have gotten much more difficult.
