Coming here from Pixel Cat's End I was kind of surprised how little official lore there seems to be for the elemental holidays, like how they're celebrated, what kinds of traditions there are around them, things like that. Like, we know that the Trickmurk Circus is..... a circus, but that's about it as far as I can tell.
I really want to hear what kind of headcanons about these holidays people have developed who have been on this site longer than I have! What do dragons do to celebrate them? What kinds of food do they eat? Do they decorate? I wanna know what people think :D

Ohhhh, how I love this one... I love the Nature Flight, and seeing it in a certain fashion. I like to imagine based on the glowing blossoms frequently associated with the Greenskeeper Gathering, that the festival invites outsiders into the darkest depths of the Viridian Labyrinth, cast into darkness by the shadow of the Behemoth. The flowers that bloom light up the world, and everything seems a bit safer. The world feasts on rich and rare fruits, the likes of which most outsiders may have never seen! The birds and trees seem to sing and dance and everything feels uncomfortably alive, like even the things that shouldn't be moving start moving. There is a sort of ritualistic Gathering ceremony per the name of the festival within the Gladebough Village, mostly for members of the Nature Flight themselves. Those in the flight are invited to migrate to the Gladebough Village in the arms of the Behemoth to celebrate, while the rest of Sornieth remains in its shadow below, engulfed in the power and size of the trees flank.
No, but-.. seriously lol, am I the only one to consider how massive and brutal of a shadow the Behemoth would cast?

@Toothcan
They're all so unique in that way, I feel like there is so much to be indulged upon, and so much to be implied about the culture of each Flight in turn! I VERY much question how literal the Riot of Rot is, and if it seriously is just a massive Riot, what do the other Flights think from a cultural-difference perspective, and more importantly how do they partake? Violence is only so normalized in Plague, I can only imagine during the RoR if it's that literal you're constantly under the threat of being jumped, so how do other Flights handle that kind of thing if the festivals are supposed to be a means for all of the different ones across Sornieth to come together, lol?

floofushush Maybe it's moreso a riot like when your favorite sports team wins. People acting without inhibition and being rowdy. A time to act "scary" and less composed. How symbolic the riot is would depend on where you are; more violent in the Boneyard and more ritualistic at the Cauldron, for example.

i'd like to think for bsj we all light lanterns and release them at lanternlea port :)
ive also always imagined bsj as FR's new year, so, lots of fireworks and stuff too.

Dragons all around Sornieth celebrate the flight holidays in different ways. For example, a plague clan celebration riot of rot might feature brawls with no holds barred, while a light clan would set up sparring matches with strict guidelines and safety measures in place. Is it still riot of rot? Yes. Just a little different across Sornieth.
I know in my lair my flight reps organize city-wide celebrations, working together to keep the spirit of their respective holidays intact while ensuring everyone involved can make it to next year's flight festival. Sure, the rioters may brawl with each other, but they set their own boundaries, and there will always be healers on standby. Same goes for the other holidays, what with all the molten metal used in flameforger crafts, or mystery spells that crop up during starfall. Even rockbreaker's has some limits, what with all the pointy gems and trading culture (inspired by the Colonnades of Antiquity entry on the world map, actually).
