For those of yall that jave changed flights, how did that effect your lore? I've been light ing since I joined 3 ears ago but after next thundercrack I'm thinking about changing over to wind for a bit.
Did your clan just take a vacation? Avoid a disaster? Conquer new land? Inherit an old mansion? No lore involved at all?
My lore is very loosely grouped, of the clan working together in a canyon and cave system. But I'm toying with the idea of how much a move will affect my writing and would love to see some ideas yall had and how others play! Thanks!

After living in Arcane for 8 years I'm planning to move! My clan is having some internal tension where one group will remain in Arcane and drive out the other group (my main clan) / force them to leave for their own safety. The new group will be displaced for a while and function as a traveling clan of dragons before they can regain their footing - aka, until I make a decision on which flight to move to.
my clan members live in different flights so theres my water dragons and shadow dragons and plague dragons

i haven't changed my lore at all bc i forgor lmao. i might, but that depends entirely if i ever decide to move back to plague or not

Mine moved because, while they enjoyed surviving and roughing it in the Scarred Waste, the Wyrmwound became way too much. They still have Necromancers in the clan to keep their ties with the Plaguebringer, but they've decided to do so from the safety of the Starwood Strand. Specifically far away from a threat that chased them into the Scarred Waste (and right back out of it).

I love the aesthetic of windflight too much to actually move, but lorewise my lair is right on the edge of plague territory and I've worked that into my lore. If I ever switched flights Plague is where I'd go, so my lore wouldn't really change much. Maybe not at all?

Mine... I suppose fit into "avoid a disaster" the best, but does that count when it's a clan member causing said disaster?

I like being pinged, but not mass ones.
I often process thoughts by writing... Trying to TL;DR more.

My clan members stayed in Lightning for a handful of months to refine their crafts! I've only just recently made it back to Arcane. Wanted to take a breath of fresh air for a change, plus I also always wondered how it's like to be in a different flight. I've been in Arcane ever since I joined, after all.
Most of my dragons are engineers that specialise in Arcane-powered machines, but they haven't fully mastered everything yet. I still have to properly write things down but, ah. I'll spare some time eventually.

I started in Shadow in 2017, and switched to Plague (my current flight) in 2020! At the beginning my lore revolved around the Little Ivywood village in the driftwood drag.
When i decided to switch to Plague, I worked around the Plague Wandering Contagion canon lore + the idea of the flight deities at war fighting for "influences" and power (that manifest geographically=dragons are born a certain element according to the region they're from). I set in the record that Little Ivywood, standing close from the border, was finally absorbed by the Wandering Contagion and the Plaguebringer's influence. It mostly translated through the first plague eyed hatchlings being born in the village and a slight change of fauna/flora.
I eventually added other towns/cities to my lore and settled them around a river I imagined crossing the Plague lands, starting from Little Ivywood in the driftwood drag and running all the way toward the sea of thousand currents much more west, closer to the windswept plateau.
I kept the stronger link with the tangled woods and toward other nations. I find it more interesting lore wise! and it allowed to keep digesting my flight switch in a way that was fun to me
