Yep! A dragon's a dragon's a dragon- If they work with what we're going for and feel "worth it" to us, then absolutely! [s]Also we hate breeding projects and you will never catch us attempting those lol, we'd rather spend the extra gems and use scrolls.[/s] Some that come to mind: Maidin here was originally a full-gened imperial, but we wanted very specific colors to match a skin and he finally popped up in the auction house one day! Didn't mind splurging on some extra scrolls to make him a reality. Scilla here got completely changed, from bee/wasp/fili to flaunt/flair/ghost, because we absolutely *needed* a blood/white fla/flair/ghost female imp and we couldn't find any that were just like that outright. (Actually, just checking now- She's the only one that exists! Wild!) Annd the only other one I remember is this disgusting pile of sludge baby lol. I'm sure breeding pairs for this exact combo do exist... somewhere, but we weren't finding them. Instead we got this goober as a triple basic with unusual eyes. Worth it.

Yep, I find worth in old dragons, so I gene them! As soon as I bought this guy I gave him all three of his new genes. I just thought he looked awesome, so.

I mean, there isn't a g1 of every color, and if it's semi-popular colors the g1 would cost a fortune. I'd rather get what I want through a g2+ than wait literal years for the perfect g1 (while keeping like thousands of gems on hand to buy it). Most of my perma dragons were gened to some extent.

If you ping me, please remember to include capitals for each word or I won't get your ping! It's GaleGecko, not galegecko.
Yes. While I prefer to spend gems on G1s, finding a G1 with the exact colors I want is rare, and impossible in the case of Imperials. (Plus, I have some doubles that would cost a fortune if they were G1s.) I bred him, breed-changed him, and gave him all three of his gem genes. (The eye vial was technically free since it was clanbound). I have zero regrets.

Sometimes i'll hatch a dragon with nice colors and decide to do something with it, some of my ancient dragons are breed changed from hatchlings that i got from nesting my modern dragons
We don't collect gen1s and cannot find the purpose of constantly trying to find the perfect g1 when we can get an extremely pretty dragon for fodder price and give them the love they were never intended to have
That’s a really beautiful way to say that ngl I haven’t done any other than a couple treasure genes on non g1s tho

Yea I try to stick to gen ones since it feels bad to spend money on a non gen one but it also costs more money to buy a gen one if there's a 15g dragon instead.

a cartoonized velvet worm that is a dark blue with white specks all over. the art's signature is 476242
Yep.

I've given non gen one dragons plenty of genes, even gem genes! I view gen ones and non gen ones the same and treat them as such.

If they got a color combo that I can work with I've no problem turning them into projects whether they be inexpensive treasure projects or expensive gem ones.

A dragon doesn't have to be a first gen to be worth buying genes for.

Yes! Tons of them!! I just started to gen G1 like a month ago and I have been around FR for 4 years!! For example this bab got the whole gem gene set applied And ofc it was expensive ;v;

I actually prefer gen 2+ dragons. I like that they're inherently connected to other dragons.

Mostly it's just "what colors are they" though, so I do have a couple gen 1s.

Hey, I'm Glass! I'm rather bad at interacting with people, so if I don't respond to something, I probably don't know what to say. Sorry in advance. FR time +2
