Hello, new friends/acquaintances! It's a pleasure to be here.

I am a 30-something enby who likes music, games, and hot beverages. My favorite forms of self-expression are through fashion and building decks for my favorite trading card games (Universus, One Piece, Pokémon, Lorcana). I am trying to learn kalimba and ukulele, and I also just started Duolingo Spanish, music, and math to keep my mind active and to prevent boredom during downtime at work. My three most recently watched-and-loved shows are Blue Eye Samurai, My Happy Marriage, and Romantic Killer.

I've really been diving into learning about FR. I finished reading Chapters 1-3 and the Epilogue of the site lore, tried to make sense of a few Coliseum guides, and am familiarizing myself with all the daily tasks. (Speaking of the Coliseum, the Training Grounds are a breeze, and by contrast, the Woodland Path is kicking my behind. I still need to collect stuff from the Training Grounds, anyway!)

I can already tell that collecting familiars is going to be a challenge... that I'm totally down for! I like having a goal, and that seems as good as any.

I've got scries for my three humble fighters, and it's hard to decide whether I want them to be Modern breeds so I can dress them, or just Auraboas because snek. They're all gorgeous either way.

Hm, I think that's all for my intro. If you read it, thank you for your time, and if you choose to respond, double thanks ~

Hey there @MxStrawberry! [emoji=firework size=1]Wishing you a warm welcome to Flight Rising![emoji=firework size=1] Woah, that is so cool! Love tea, but besides that and hot (chocolate) milk, I don't drink any hot beverages... Mostly listen to piano and when it comes to games I only played some pokemon games before joining FR ^^; Love how you're learning so much stuff! Ah... I only skimmed over some of the lore, haha... Mostly use my own headcannons, because I wrote those before actually discovering the existence of site lore, whoops =v= Yes, I'm trying to collect as many familiars as I can too! My custom progen is actually a veilspun, but my random progen is a guardian, so you can choose a combination too! ----- ----- That said... Here is a good this guide to some of the basics! [emoji=information size=1] This guide is way more comprehensive than what I post here, but here is some more information: Feel free to ping me when you have questions! ------ ------ [emoji=green vial size=1]Do:[emoji=green vial size=1]

[emoji=sun size=1] There are some dailies to be gotten from this website! If you feed dragons daily, you get more gathering turns!
[emoji=treasure size=1] If you want to make more in-game currency, I suggest looking into training a [emoji=coliseum team size=1] coliseum dragon. You can ask on your own flight's forum topic for dragon-lending services, so people can lend you a higher lvl dragon and so you can use that one in a team to grind levels on your progens or your own dragons.
[emoji=red vial size=1]Don't:[emoji=red vial size=1]

[emoji=breeding cooldown size=1] Personally I do not breed my progens because I don't like the look of a (messy) offspring list. Some people use song lyrics or quotes or themes to name the offspring, which can be really cool!
[emoji=money bag size=1] Don't buy everything you want from the marketplace: look at the auction house for possible cheaper options! Tbh, some items are more expensive on the auction house, so do compare some of the prices :P
[emoji=new friend size=1] Don't sell hatchlings for less than 4g (you can get max 5g for a baby fodder) and don't sell adult dragons for less than 5g (you can get max 7g for an adult fodder). (Really pretty lineage + lore dragons in hatcheries can go for ~50g!) You cannot sell your progens, only exalt them. Exalting a dragon means you send it to work for your elemental deity. they essentially become removed from the site and don't belong to any player, though they can still be seen. You can get your exalted progens back at any time and also 1 exalted non-progen dragon per 3 months, but you need to pay treasure for restoring the dragons.
Don't go against the FR policies? It definitely stacks up though, so if you have the energy I'd recommend learning how to through the guide linked above and playing some hard more fairground each day ^^ [emoji=treasure size=1] For more profit than that you'd have to: [emoji=treasure size=1]

[emoji=coliseum team size=1] Play some coliseum and sell the drops there on the auction house. (eggs, runestones and swipp items tend to go for quite a sum!) (the baldwin materials you get from baldwin vary in rarity and price, so check the auction house for that: you can often sell them for gems as well on the auction house!) This is a reliable passive income source, though you cannot melt stacks and have to check in once a while to melt a new item. It does work with 30-min intervals though and is thus compatible with The Pomodoro Technique, which is a very efficient study method!
[emoji=eliminate size=1] Level cheap fodder dragons in the mire with a lvl 25 mire trainer! The mire is a high lvl venue for quickest lvl grinding but due to the amount of players levelling fodder there the items are worth a lot less than those in the ghostlight ruins and other high lvl venues. Fodder dragons can be obtained from breeding cheap fodder dragons or can be bought at ~7000 treasure on the Auction house. You can exalt them to your deity at lvl 6-7: lvl 6 is the most efficient profit-wise, but some level dragons to lvl 8 for more profit/dragon. This will give you treasure (see how much on the Flight rising Wiki)! This works best if you change the coliseum settings in the coliseum to correspond to the WASD(+QE) keys and keep the battlestone order similar for your fighter dragons: Over time coli can be more automated and you can then play coliseum while watching a series in the evening, or even while reading papers or a book on the side. (If you are reading papers I do recommend having multiple food stacks in your hoard already, as the focus will lead to many defeats in the coliseum and thus more need to feed your fighter!)
[emoji=gold crown size=1] If there is a dominance battle going on that week, (A good pinglist is the one linked here) you could check if they have an OOFR (out-of-flight-raffle) or a public buy: The flight will buy dragons from you then and especially outside of holidays they may pay more (treasure OR gems!) than the price you get for exalting dragons!
[emoji=dna size=1] I don't do this due to keeping a no-breeding-lair, but you could make a lot of profit with breeding too, but it requires consistent passive play (I have seen people keep spreadsheets for a very streamlined process or just wing it but idk how to actually put it into practice) and you'll also have to come up with a fun/unique/desirable hatchery theme:

If you have an open nest in your nesting grounds, get a pair of breedable dragons from the auction house (check their compatibility here) and breed them. You do have to check in 1x each day to incubate the nest!
6 days later you can sell their hatchlings 5kt a piece, or train and exalt hatchlings for more profit.
If you do this a few weeks, you can expand your nesting grounds and dragon lair a bit with the money and then rotate breeding pairs.
When you have enough funds after a few months, you could get prettier and unique breeding pairs that you can write lore for (making your dragon lineage interesting and compatible with certain clan aesthetics that are popular) and set up a hatchery where you could sell your hatchlings for more treasure or gems.

[emoji=familiar heart size=1] Familiar bonding nets you 15-50 treasure per familiar (I think, not 100% sure on that) and bonding for 3 months or so on certain familiars might get you small rewards. One familiar isn't too profitable, but if you bond hundreds consistently, the amount stacks up! Familiars can be obtained through the coliseum, gathering, achievement chops and the giveaway forums, and for rare ones you might browse the auction house.
[emoji=net size=1] Gathering could also be profitable, but I'm not too clear on how since I mostly just let it all sit in my hoard XD Some rare/swpp/baldwin items from gathering can be sold for a neat amount! Tbh, not 100% clear on which ones, but the most rare items or items needed for desirable genes and swipp are most profitable! Much love, Islet (Ps: atm I'm not looking for friend requests because irl is a bit much rn, so I'll prly end up forgetting to friend people or I'll end up ghosting people... Hey there @MxStrawberry!

Wishing you a warm welcome to Flight Rising!

Yes, I'm trying to collect as many familiars as I can too! My custom progen is actually a veilspun, but my random progen is a guardian, so you can choose a combination too!

That said... Here is a good this guide to some of the basics!

This guide is way more comprehensive than what I post here, but here is some more information: Feel free to ping me when you have questions!

Do:
  • There are some dailies to be gotten from this website!

At "gather items" and "trading post" you can get some free stuff each day and in the "fairgrounds" you can play minigames to make a maximum of 75.000 treasure each day.

You can ask on your own flight's forum topic for dragon-lending services, so people can lend you a higher lvl dragon and so you can use that one in a team to grind levels on your progens or your own dragons.

Don't:
  • Personally I do not breed my progens because I don't like the look of a (messy) offspring list.

If you do breed your progens or dear dragons, please name the offspring something you can look at in the future and not be annoyed. Some people use song lyrics or quotes or themes to name the offspring, which can be really cool!
  • Don't buy everything you want from the marketplace: look at the auction house for possible cheaper options!

Also, here is some more information about treasure that might be helpful, haha...

The fastest way to get treasure is actually by playing glimmer & gloom on the hard mode on the fairground games, but fairground profit is limited to 75. 000 treasure max each day.

It definitely stacks up though, so if you have the energy I'd recommend learning how to through the guide linked above and playing some hard more fairground each day ^^

For more profit than that you'd have to:
  • Play some coliseum and sell the drops there on the auction house. (eggs, runestones and swipp items tend to go for quite a sum!)

Personally I think the ghostlight ruins is quite quick to train in and the items from there are cute in a shadow/arcane way ^^

@MxStrawberry Welcome to FR! Your dragons are gorgeous :O. The lore here is fascinating yeah; I just finished reading through it. Good luck learning uke btw! I used to play- it's a fun challenge, though a bit painful on the fingers lol.

@AngelOfTheEast ~ Sorry, I missed your response somehow! Thanks for the welcome and the compliment; most of the dragons I have now are from giveaway threads.

I have to get used to keeping my fingernails short for the uke. I wasn't ever in the habit of wearing fancy long nails, but even basic upkeep of fingernail length can tend to slip my mind very easily.
