I have left many stars on many dragons in this thread, such awesome examples of layering (and all of your dragons got stars, OP, love them!)
My lair and den are
full of layering examples and I have something like 315 finished permadragons (appearance wise, only 7 have polished lore/bios), so I'm just gonna limit myself to 3.
The first I'm going to highlight is my very first layered keeper all the way back from when I was new in 2017.
100% sure I was not the first, but I discovered layering of semi-transparent apparel = colour shifts independently with this nocturne when I couldn't decide which sylvan wings to give her. I can't remember what apparel equipping was like back then, if we were able to close the eye, but I think my intention was to at least switch the order back and forth until I decided.
Then there's my most recent example:
My fandragon for Perfuma from She-ra and the Princesses of Power (and OG She-ra to a lesser extent) is my most recent example of layering, both with the 2 different flowerfalls and...well depending on how you define layered there are a lot of examples in here. I'm also pretty happy with the fringed hippy vest and matchy bead necklace under the greenskeeper treeshroud :D

not my most recent example, so I'll share the newest layer-wearer as my third (I forgot about them because they're still in my breeding projects tab - accidental keeper ftw):
Name might be subject to change but not only is there layering of the candles and rings silks, but also the footies and anklets - and then the traditional colour-shift layering of sylvan headpieces to give it a more vibrantly orange colour.
Sanddune Rags + Bone Antlers seems like they're the same apparel!
Bronze Steampunk Googgles hidden behind Burrowing Mandible Helmet change the eye color to fit more the dragon! It's a lightning dragon with reddish eyes! :D
