This is a nice development chapter of some characters. It's important to recognize when you are not happy and go down a new path rather than stay in the place that makes you ultimately unhappy.
I really love the little Gaia. She has some great potential to look like a great nature derg (even with her light element)!

And yay to your own new beginnings! I hope you enjoyed the Pride event and that the summer job goes well ^^ (and yeah, as a mom, I can definitely empathize how much energy one needs to use to take care of kids - never miss opportunities to take the rest you need to ensure you are the most effective when you do that kind of care work)

Omg… baby Abbie for balance !! That makes me so excited and the moment was so so sweet! I also love love Tyrian, I was surprised at how much I missed her! I also love that she was willing to admit she hadn’t been all the way there for her kids!
Also, congrats on the first pride and the job!! Those are both so exciting!

It definitely made me laugh a few time writing the brothers knowing that their sister is alive and well! And yes, I am very excited about Gaia! I specifically turned her into a aberration to fit her chaotic energy!
I have no ideas yet for what I will have Persephone do now, but I'm sure I'll figure it out!
Oooo that's a great scry!!!
Thank you! I am definitely looking after myself! I am using my evenings well to make sure I am resting and preparing for the next day ahead! And oooo, I didn't know you were a mom! That's so cool!!!

Thank you! I think it's really important for my heroes to be able to admit their flaws and learn from them.
Thank you, it was a great time!!!

The Brightshine Jubilee celebration was set to start soon. Burns was stringing the lights, great glowing bulbs, and trying to balance. He had been a guardian for a while now, but he was still getting used to the new body.

"Need some help up there?" Fenrir called up from the ground below. Burns grinned down at him. They had been friends long before he and Sage had become a ... thing. They had never actually formalized their relationship, he realized. Yet another thing to make him sad about Sage.
"Burns?" Fenrir called again.
"Yeah, sure! Come on up!" Burns responded, waving up the nocturne.
"It's strange to do this without her, isn't it?" Fenrir asked gently, as though sensing what was wrong.
"Yes," Burns nodded. "But we must carry on, make this clan strong in her memory."
"Yes, of course. And you are doing a fantastic job," Fenrir nodded. "Just know, if you need anything- I've been around this clan almost since the beginning. I'm happy to help. I want to help."
"Thank you, Fenrir," Burns smiled. "Right now, you can help me string these lights so everyone can enjoy the Jubilee. Hopefully without tragedy this time, eh?"

Dominga's body ached. His father had been training him hard. The shade had left him feel cold and shaky, like he had a fever. He felt dizzy, and like he wanted to throw up. He collapsed on his bed, in the room he shared with his siblings.
Victor was asleep, looking like he was dead (which he had learned by now was normal for his brother), and LIV was out and about, Dom didn't care where. Which was good. He wanted to be alone, he couldn't have anyone see him weak.
He was not going to be so lucky.

"Dom! What did Dad do to you?" Doppio called out.
Dominga cracked open his eyes and groaned. "Leave me alone."
"No! This isn't right!" Doppio exclaimed. "Look at how this is draining you!"
"I just need to be stronger," Dominga growled. "Dad promised. And then nothing will hurt me anymore."
"I can't let him keep doing this to you! It's sick!" Doppio gagged.
"Yeah, well, it's not your choice, it's mine. Now, let me sleep." Dominga closed his eyes again and let himself ignore his brother's babbling as he slipped into unconsciousness.

"Do you think we'll find her?" Leo asked nervously, his tail resting on Nala's flanks for support. His heart pounded in his chest, so many things could go wrong, but he couldn't leave his brother alone.
"Yeah, we just need to find an entrance to the Feywild, that's all," Griffin said. "It can't be that hard, mom and dad did it."
"But what about Mason and David? They went off looking for the Feywild and they've been missing for ages!" Leo pointed out.
"Look, do you want to find our sister or not?" Griffin spun on Leo, growling. He stopped once he saw the fear on his brother's face. "Sorry Leo, I didn't mean to scare you, I just-"
"No, it's not that," Leo gasped, trying to find words for what he was seeing. "It's- it's- it's one of those m-m-m-onst-"
But Leo couldn't finish his sentence before the great, ancient beast got to Griffin first.

It had happened again. Gwen had stumbled across another one of her clanmates, dead. Griffin's body lay before her, shrouded by mist. His soul was already rising out of his body. No, the clan had lost too much, they were about to celebrate a festival, she couldn't let this happen.
The guardian pulled on the tether of the soul, trying to drag it back into the body. If she could get it to stay there, maybe, just maybe, she could stop him from dying.
She pushed, and the soul slid into the body, with no resistance. It was working! Really working!

Leo didn't know how he managed to drag his brother's body away to safety. he just knew that at the first sight of danger, Nala had transformed into a large hellhound and had taken on the beast herself. Now she was alone, fighting it, and Leo was running away like the coward that he was.
As soon as he could run no longer, he dropped Griffin's limp body, checking him over for signs of life. He had no pulse. No breathing. This couldn't have happened, Leo was supposed to find a sibling, not lose another!
Suddenly, there was a gasp, and Griffin began to breathe shallowly again. His eyelids began to flutter.
"Grif! Hold on!" Leo shouted. "Just hold on! We're safe! Just stay alive!"
As if he was listening, the breathing began to get stronger. Leo didn't know what happened, but he didn't need to know, he was just happy to be getting his brother back.
But, all too quickly, the breathing stopped once more, and all signs of life left the body again, this time, for good.

"No! No! No! NO! NO!" Gwen shouted, but it was no use. Something had happened, and the tether had snapped. There was no bringing it back now.
She leapt, trying to catch it so she could at least bring him to the gate that lead to the beyond, but it was no use. He drifted off, higher and higher.
Gwen took off into the air. She had never tried to fly here before, and she was surprised to find that there was little resistance. The air was full of souls, drifting higher and higher, and soon, Griffin's got lost among the masses.
Eventually, she burst through the clouds and saw herself staring at a large, burning sun. It took up the entire sky, and the souls were rising towards it. It hurt her eyes and burned her scales, and she was forced to return to the cover of the clouds and mist that filled the in-between.
She had failed, and worse that that, she had no way to guarantee that her clanmate's soul would be safe.

Burns, Dominga and Leo went into the Coli! Dominga fell, and I rolled Griffin to take his place.
Special thanks to @VeniVidiVici for the soul tether idea, it's going to come into play more later...
If anyone wants to claim Griffin, you have until 23:59 FR Time on Saturday, July 2nd to do so before he gets exalted. First come, first serve.

Please be gentle with me, I get stressed and anxious easily, and don't always pick up on meanings or social cues. I'm very detail-oriented & like to have all information possible before proceeding.
Lot of things happening here, most of them sad. [emoji=guardian sad] I really felt for Gwen, trying to revive Griffin...and failing.
That aside, did we ever find out what killed Flower, or did I just miss the explanation? Same thing that killed Griffin, maybe?
(Also, I do have some lore ideas for what happened to Molly; they just haven't been written down because they're not quite fleshed out yet. x3)
!! My boy Doppio looking snazzy! (And poor baby, just wants to protect his brother...)
Aw, poor Griffin. ;;_;; Gone too soon; and Leo, forever scarred by losing his brother over the one topic that he wished Griffin would drop. (Also, nice use of the freed beasts from earlier!)
