Losing a pet is never ever easy. I went through a similar experience only a few months ago and I still grieve for her. One day she was playing without a care in the world, later the same day she was in incapacitating pain from a condition she had been hiding from us the whole time. It isn't fair when they go from you suddenly. At least old age is something you can gradually almost not really prepare for, but so suddenly and with little or no warning? it can make you angry at the world for taking them, angry at them for leaving you, angry at yourself for not having seen the signs. It isn't fair, it just is not.
You don't need to be in any sort of hurry to get over it and move forward. It's perfectly reasonable to slow down and let yourself be miserable for a while. loss is indescribably heart-rending, and you deserve the time and space to wallow in the sorrow and cry your eyes out till there's no tears left to cry. then drink some water and get back to it, if you need to. maybe look at Dragon.pngs. watch a movie you really love, particularly animated ones.
Time doesn't really heal all wounds, but it does let you process and cope with them yknow? I wish only the best for you, beloved stranger

I too know what it’s like to lose a pet. My first pet ever was a white and timid guinea pig. I had here for three years before I got my first dog, and while spending time with the new dog, I neglected my guinea pig. She died about about three months after getting the dog, and even though it happened over five years ago, it still hurts whenever I see a guinea pig. Although it hurts, I still cherish the things that fluffy little piggy taught me about responsibility. In a way, it seems like she knew she knew she didn’t have much time left, and wanted to make sure I was okay before leaving. My only autumn dragon is my Moonbeast Lupe.
