Carrotcake Magmaborn Gladeshadow

WIP Stuff

The Obelisk broke forth, the rock crackling and splitting apart as her once stone body began to take on an organic shape. She roared, feeling a deep power within that sound. It was lost within a cacophony of extra shouts. Shuffling her mane, she looked around. The cavern was filled with other dragons like herself, as well as hundreds of ones she didn't recognize.

She closed her eyes and put her massive paws over her ears. It was just too much to take in. The Earthshaker had tried to tell her something, something very important... What was it though? Wait... Who was the Earthshaker again? It had only been a few minutes, and yet the young dragon was already losing her memories. She didn't listen very well. She just wanted to get out and see everything, her curiosity overpowering her better instincts. Ah, well, she was sure it probably wasn't that important. She had a name too. Hmm... Manatorn? No... Maskhorn? No, not that one either. Oh! Magmaborn! That's what it was! It wasn't her first name though... No. She didn't yet find that name.

Getting a whiff of something nice nearby, she looked around until her eyes fell upon a nearby male.

Carrotcake eyed the small, fluffy dragon. Then she strode forward and shoved her snout into his side, taking a large sniff.

Startled, the young Tundra stumbled back from the force and looked nervously at her.

She took another breath, her nose still burrowed in his thick fur. He smelled better than all the other dragons. It reminded her of the flowers she had encountered on the way to the Province.

Rhythm, completely freaked out by this point, stood rigidly as he eyed her warily.

She continued to nudge him, pushing him around the garden with her large face. Helpless, Rhythm didn't fight back, instead just stumbling in the direction that she made him go. He didn't understand that she was just trying to figure out what kind of dragon he was.

Finally, Carrotcake made up her mind that this one did in fact smell the best. His scent smelled like fresh flowers and soap. She moved back slightly and observed him for a moment, then she wagged her tail, thumping it across the ground. She let out a low moan as a greeting.

Rhythm stared at her anxiously, hoping she would leave him alone now.

Carrotcake reclined back on her haunches and smiled softly. "Helloh."

"You... can talk?" Rhythm asked quietly, blinking in surprise. "What were you doing?"

"Smeeling you," Carrotcake replied casually, her smile getting wider at his response.

"Oh," he said awkwardly. After a moment, he asked, "Why?"

"You smeel good."

Rhythm blushed, which wasn't really that noticible since he was naturally a bright pink.

"Are you a floer?" Carrotcake asked, tilting her head questioningly as she compared his small size to the plants nearby. "Noo, you're not a floer. Only part floer."

Rhythm laughed. "No, amazingly I'm all dragon."

"Gib me a huggle," Carrotcake commanded, picking him up and squeezing him.

The air pushed out of him, Rhythm gasped for air. "You're. Very. Different," he choked, then obediently hugged her back.

She released him and wagged her tail again, then got back up and spun around a few times, hopping up and down excitedly. She raised one of her paws and thunked his back, knocking him into the dirt.

He let out a small "Oof!" but scrambled back up quickly. "You're a bit rough you know," he said, panting.

Carrotcake's face fell. "I'm sohrry. I'm noot used to smol dragons."

Seeing how sad she got, Rhythm began to feel guilty himself. "Aww, it's alright. You're not trying to be rough."

The young Obelisk perked back up again. "You're noice." She laid her head on his, but this time she did it gently. "I lub you."

Rhythm swiveled his eyes to look up into hers. He smiled softly. "I love you too. I guess."
