I'm a fan of a lot of the same gene combos on Gaolers as I am on modern breeds, so this might be boring, but...
Piebald/Paint

I had this guy as one of my first Nocturnes because I liked his colors, but never did anything with him...he looked so good as a Gaoler that I had to have him be my first one and to do the same genes. He looks better this way! Still debating Gnarlhorns or Shardflank with him.
Jaguar/Rosette/Shardflank

Possibly my favorite gene combo is Jaguar and Rosette anyway, it looks so good on so many colors. This was actually a Basic/Basic/Basic hatchie from the above Goaler and I loved his colors, scried...yeah, had to gene him and keep! He's my favorite one.
Mosaic/Breakup/Wintercoat

I don't have one with these genes yet, but I definitely will! Mosaic/Breakup/Wintercoat is such a cool combo that looks amazing with a wide variety of colors. Changing the tert to Weathered or Scorpion also looks great, I think!

I actually really love Scorpion, but it doesn't go with much. Breakup and Pinstripe are a perfect match.

Amhara here is a pretty good example of one of my favorite combos. When I find a Gaoler or a weird Gen1, I always scry them with accent colors first. Usually Pearl/Sky XXY looks weird on Gaolers, but Opal just makes her pop~! Too bad the only terts with major accents are Opal and Blossom, but hey it works. Also, seems Jaguar/Rosette, Pinstripe/Trail, and Mosaic/Breakup have major accents to work with, so there's that.

When it comes to more monotone looks, I usually go with Phantom/Streak(or Trail if it works like this)/Scorpion (Weathered just covers up too much for me to be okay with it, and mega floof is situational). It just has this super intimidating look about it, but at the same time helps the eyes stand out super well~! It's like Python/Morph but for the Gaolers. Tough babu looks amazing~! Just not for Multigaze... Thanks for not having a line of eyes down your side, Gerda~!

For those with Multigaze who need to be tough, I present to you Gnarlhorns. This girl has a matchy accent color on top of her eye workaround, but Gnarlhorns works so well on girls with Multigaze~! Just no scorpion, no matter the pose. Also, bonus for the icy-earthy look. Good job, Aliya~!
