Honestly, I'd be pretty pissed off if I bought stained expecting something magical for my grapefruit dragon up there only to find out it looks the exact same as lemon. Nothing quite like getting that perfect dragon and finding out that your 177 colors are more like.... 7.

I [i]can[/i] see the difference. The top one's belly is a lighter green, something I would describe as "pear skin", the second I would say "avocado", and the third has a yellowy-orangey-green tint, it seems more saturated than the other two. So like overall, the first one seems to have a washout effect, the colors are kinda duller than the other two examples, since I'm comparing between the three, the middle one is well...the middle one, in-between the top and bottom one. The bottom one I can for sure tell it has a yellowy tint.
This being said, yes they are very similar and these are very careful observations. But from first look I could tell they're different. Remember everyone sees color differently...so something that may look exactly the same no difference to you can look really different to someone else.
And really if you buy a dragon before you scry it expecting the tert is going to magically fix everything and make it your perfect dream dragon then well...

Agreed it is a bit too expensive for how little it brings, this is my only dragon with stained but it absolutely completes him.

I don't usually care much for Stained either way, but I feel that way about many genes. However I love how it reduces the intensity of crystal and facet, which is one the main reasons I don't like those genes. Here are the 2 dream dragons I will (eventually) get that both have stained, and it's because it reduces the intensity of the facet that I like them:

Like any other gene, it reeeally depends on the dragon, colors, and other genes. It can end up being "meh" frequently but when it looks good (which can be more challenging to coordinate than other genes ) it looks SO GOOD.

As much as I hated the idea of Stained when it came out I find myself keeping a lot of Dragons with it. It tends to save a Dragon with horrible color combos.
