@awaicu - Hello again! :) I'd be delighted to add you to my general pinglist! All lore updates (such as they are, lol) are done with a posting of dragons for sale, so you won't miss anything that way.

Also, I'm delighted that Albatross finally figured out xir name, and that xe's still a boon to your clan! :D I love how xe's dressed!

Regarding your hatchery, I would love to affiliate with you! I don't bump threads, nor do I really want mine bumped, but if you're cool with a banner exchange, I'm here for that. <3 Thanks for reaching out, and big props to the lore you've got working in that thread, and what a lovely layout, too!

I also wanted to ask if you like recieving hatchling letters?

@ixris

Wonderful, thank you so much! I look forward to seeing more of your lore and dragons in the future!

In terms of affiliation I don't usually bump others' threads or request any bumps on my own. I am certainly down for a banner exchange though! I noticed that you've already found the code for my own banner, so I've gone ahead and added yours as well! Many thanks, and happy new year!

@Doxiunoia - Absolutely! I will send you a CR! :) Also, I adore hatchling letters, but my anxiety doesn't always let me respond promptly, so if that kind of kills some of the buzz for you, I super understand. <3

@awaicu - Thanks so much, and to you as well! :)

Thank you!!! And that's perfectly fine I totally understand, and that doesn't kill any buzz because if it'll brighten your day in any way that's enough for me! ^^/

Transport had compressed the fibers, and the burrs and dirt were visible, even from a casual inspection. There was nothing to do, he knew, but prepare it. Kusil had not sought advice in his craft in many years. He had considered himself a master of fibercraft, the arts of spinning tiny strands into downy-soft fibers well infused in his repertoire. But here he dared not make a mistake. The hearth was banked, but his home was cold without his love here to echo the warmth of the fire. His heart broke while he asked Bryg everything about the processing of their prize - how to wash it, to card it, to dry and to spin it. He dared not step awry even once. He cleaned the fleece until his fingers, long-calloused from years in this work, blistered and rubbed themselves raw. He carded the wool until it was downy and soft, a texture the ram himself had probably never known. Then, with his fingers healing and gloves protecting the tender spots, he brought out the wheel and spun. He spun for days, for though the cleaning and carding of the wool seemed endless, there had in fact been a stop to it. But now? Now the wool seemed four times as much as they had brought home, and Kusil needed to ensure that every fiber was accounted for, and that each made its way into the finished piece. Skein after skein he spun, and when at last the wool ran out and his fingers caught at no more to add to the wheel, he checked again with Bryg and learned the colors of the thing he was to make. Blacks and reds, greens and golds, pale white and stormy grey, he filled the frosty air with steam from his vats and dyed hank upon hank of yarn. He did not dally. He pulled out the loom he hadn't used since his youth, and he wove just enough to remind his hands how to work. Then, the warp set, he began to shuttle in the weft. Kusil worked by patterns in books that had not been opened for decades before he saw them. Bryg had brought them to him from Ives' library, where they had gathered dust among others that spoke of curses and spellbreaking. He squinted by day until night threatened to bloom again into dawn. His fingers, sheltered by his work gloves, bit the thread again and again as his gloves wore through. By the end, his hands shook and his eyes fluttered, but the piece, as it was, was done. I absolutely love Nelson's design and lore (and your entire hatchery tbh your writing is amazing). Would it be possible for me to buy him from you? ^^

Cheap and pretty dragons here, or if you're broke, for free here.
@DrainianDream - How kind, thank you! :) And of course, I'll send Nelson over a CR momentarily!

@Salathielly - Thank you! :D Gotta practice ALL the writing skills, not just the fun ones, lol! (oh gee, me too, man I wonder if we'll ever see him again. D: (LOLOL))

I've, of course, been busy ... and then sick, and I'm going to be busy again. lol But I'm enjoying chipping away at these stories and posting dragons when I can, so hopefully you're not sick of seeing adults yet, lolol. :) On a housekeeping note: I have some pairs NOT listed in the spreadsheet right now. (They're also not in the pairs section, because I've been quite busy.) Turns out you can only go so far horizontally on googledocs, so I'm trying to consider how I want to reorganize the document before I add anyone. IF YOU ARE LOOKING to be added to the pinglist for a not-listed pair, please just let me know. :) Thanks! They knew the crossroads when Peridot spoke of it, and when they returned, they assured Bryg they had felt the echoes of Peony. The crossroads was near the route Peony would have to take between their home and the Inn, but Kusil could not fathom why his mate had ventured there at all. The place felt cursed, and rumors of a spirit that brought the bite of winter even in the heart of the desert summer had certainly scared Kusil away from the site. They went before dusk: Kusil and Bryg and Ives and Rik, and Defer just in case things escalated to bad very quickly. Rik was there as a guide into the realm of the spirits, and Ives came because he knew the patterns to break any wards that may be in place. Bryg came because Bryg knew the heart of it, and Kusil came because it was his heart on the line. Kusil's claws trembled as they sought the silken softness of the weaving he had made. A tapestry or a flag or a blanket, he knew not, but it was all he could do not to try to rip apart his work as his claws sought to be busied. Bryg carried Peony wholesale. His pale fur seemed paler yet in the wan sunlight as Bryg set his limp form in the center of the crossroads. Around him, Ives drew circles and incantations, and Rik fell into a quiet state, distant and empty. Only Defer stood alert, watching, waiting, as if he knew the fanfare would come soon. Bryg lit candles as the sun began to sink, and when the time was right, Kusil slipped between the patterns in the dust and lay the weaving across the form of his love, covering him completely. His heart shuddered in his chest, and he felt sick to leave him, even as Bryg gently called him away. The night sank to blackness. Rik remained still, Defer on edge, and Bryg and Ives, their work completed, sank back as if to watch in contentment. Outside the glow of their candles, the stars burned through the firmament. A rush of bats wheeled overhead, their wings visible only barely against the moon. The heat left them. And the bite of winter crept across Kusil's shoulders, sipping lightly, then drinking deeply of the hope he had brought to this night.
